  • I played it few years back on my phone

  • 94 was the best hockey game ever made, this is second

  • Four lines...sweet. We only got three in the Genesis version back then.

  • I used to have this game!

  • download link?

  • oh man.. i was playing this for a long time :D even in 2003 :DD

  • If you guys are looking for the PC/DOS versions of NHL Hockey and NHL Hockey 95, you can buy them on CD. NHL Hockey originally came out on floppy disks, but they remade it as "NHL Hockey CD-ROM Classics". NHL Hockey '95 can also be found on CD-ROM.

  • I used to play this on a 486 PC with a joystick/gamepad.

The following season the PC/DOS version was titled "NHL Hockey 95" (PC version had Mike Richter on cover, while Console versions were called "NHL 95" and had McClean/Kovalev on cover). The "sportsdesk" screen was changed to a real picture of a sportscaster, while the edit lineup was the same and so was the "Tonight's Starting Lineups" screen.

  • This was just called "NHL Hockey" on the PC/DOS version, and it came out in the fall of 1993 (coinciding with release of NHL '94 for the Sega Genesis and the SNES). This PC version was a totally different game from the console versions. The edit lineup screen was awesome, you'd just grab the player's jersey and drag/ drop into the line you wanted that player. The gameplay sounds were completely different too, and the gameplay itself wasn't the same as the console versions. I used to play this

  • Oh yeah, and with Adlib sounds <3

  • LOL , "where can i play this online"

  • where can I play this online? or where can i download it? I used to play it all the time

  • where can I play this online? or where can i download it? I used to play it all the time

  • The Genesis version kills the PC version

  • Was there no NHL 94 for PC?

  • 1:48 what a goal by Jaromir Jagr !!!!!

  • anyone knows the controlls?

i have the game but no key-configure -.-

  • lol jaromir jagr xD

  • in my opinion best hockey games were 91 to 99

  • Oh wow, nostalgia hit me hard!

  • God i remember playing my first 84 game schedule of this... Mario Lemieux, 641 goals, 457 assists xD

  • this was a great game! i could win games against the comp 52-0! its all about settin up those one timers.

  • I love this Hockey. With joypad, it was great. Later versions never chatched me like this. Do someone know, which later hockey is the best similar in gameplay to this one?

  • ah, young greenhorn Jaromir Jagr :-)))

  • Once again, Brian Leetch's lack of defensive leadership leads to a Rangers defeat. The Pens wanted it more.

  • lol i like the sound effects

  • Well at least the organ music is realistically shit, LOL!!!!!

  • Can someone please tell me where I can download this?!?

  • on internet

  • Wow, that helps...I meant where on the internet can you find it.

  • on google. just google the game

  • Looks like the Genesis version of 93 is a all around better version IMO

  • @tbonenyc08 gotta be disagreeing here. i had both, and this game was far superior. the sound is weaker, but the graphics are crisper, and they gameplay is better.

  • @tbonenyc08 The sound effects seem to be on adlib mode, with a sound blaster (which is what most PCs have) this sounds superior to the Genesis version. And the framerate, while not a smooth 60 FPS on my PC, was still better than whats showing in this video. NHL 95 on PC was a smooth 60 FPS however. Overall its hard to compare this and the Genesis version. This has a full season mode. Genesis didn't have that till NHL 95, and the Genesis version of 95 was awful. PC version is also less arcadey.

  • Crazy sounds : D

  • I love this game. my biggest victory is 1-7.

  • i like this game!

  • look at nhl 10

  • What have you done with the sound?

  • where can i dl it?

  • me to hellsangels till i got 2005 for my pc now watching this makes me wanna kill my self :(

  • omfg i loved this game i thought the graphics were so "intense"

  • Could someone tell me all the keyboard controls for this game on pc. I have the game but no idea how to pass, shoot, check, change lines or anything.

  • Shoot with space, pass with Alt chanhe lines with F1 to F4 and F5 to F8

  • Classic

  • God great game.

  • OMFG.

  • the net looks like a giant butt...

  • my favorite hockey game for sure, and definetly the best of the 2D ones, even though its an older one. great fans, great music. the ref actually skates and retrieves the puck time keeper etc. i just love the detail, the anthem, everything. i was pissed that i couldnt figure out how to run it on my new computer, then i lost the disc.......worst moment ever

  • The fans are better in this than in NHL 97, 98 and 99...

  • personal computer.

  • Haha, Fail

  • Fuck you're stupid...

  • -_-

  • Oh this brings back memories, i totally LOVED this game back in the days

  • I can't get this to work on mine, don't think I can Figure out Dos box....I can't count the amount of hours I spent on this game...Loved it.

  • was it possible to fight in this game..? cos if it's possible I so pissed off cos I never did..

  • nah.. you're confusing this game with Faceoff

  • maximum respect... to all the details, you can even see a player drinking on the bench.. OMG!!! love it

  • At least it doesnt freeze like nhl 08...

  • then dont play nhl 08 on a PC, retard, get a 360.

  • I got a PS3, "retard".

  • What happened to the announcer when you scored a goal?

  • I love the play getting flattened by the puck.

  • NHL Hockey 93 is best!!!

  • I played this a ton when I was younger, and I installed it again a few days ago. What a classic. Roenick is a great player in this game too.

  • HAHAHAHAHA :D:D:D n1, EA really managed

  • haha, i remember this game so well.. I was like 7 or 8 when I played this game day in and day out... The fast guys like Bure, Mogilny, and Petr Klima were unstoppable in it!!

  • it's alrite

  • all the sound effects are on the drums setting of a casio keyboard!!! fuck me!

  • nice

  • the first genesis version actually did come out in 91 minus the nhl license. it wasnt till 94 that it had both the nhl and nhlpa label on the game.

  • are you sure this was 93? 93 didnt have the NHL lisence.

  • In reality, this game was not called "93", it was just "NHL Hockey". On the PC it was released in 1993 with full licence. Dino Ciccarelli was great in there ;-).

However, I am not sure how about first Genesis version, which was released in 91 - may be this one was without licence for player names?

  • In fact yes, it was called NHL Hockey, however, if you still want write the appropriate year to be like the other NHL, you should write NHL Hockey 94. Because it's for season 1993/1994. (Just after the Montreal Canadiens won the Stanley Cup.)

  • @bludr dont you mean game called face off?

  • @bludr its release coincided with NHL94 for SNES/Genesis

  • @bludr NHL Hockey on the Genesis (released in fall '91) was the '92 edition, NHL Hockey on the PC (released in fall '93) was the '94 edition. This is a common misconception. I also see a lot of people call the European version of NHL Hockey (92) on Genesis, called EA Sports Hockey (EA didn't get the NHL license for Europe) called NHL 91 when in fact it was released slightly after NHL Hockey (92)

  • ahh, what an great game..remember playing this when I was younger :)

  • Jarda Jagr v nejlepsich letech :)

  • Ahhh, the memories....
