Well I want to know if posh puppy has been shut down or not because for the longest time I have want a little female maltese forever from posh puppy but i one day i heard a thing about how the beverly hill lacation was no longer running but i wanted mine from the tarzana one so i hope it is still uo and running because i worked so hard for my parents said i can get my new puppy from posh puppy if i do go in school so i did and now we have to wat and see if had closed or not god please help me !!

Here's an open post to all concerned about a less touched on subject that is another part of the cruelty problem: STOP ABANDONING YOUR PETS, the economic hardships we face as a nation, if not as a world, are cruel. But it is equally EVIL to abandon your pets when the going gets tough, they are a part of your family and you would turn your backs to them!!?? Shelters everywhere are flooded with the unwanted as well as the neglected, STOP ABANDONING YOUR PETS YOU B*****DS.

We have a pet supply store near us that puts cats on display from our local shelter. They have this big cage with a cat run and all kinds of toys and you get to meet one or two of the cats. They have a sign sharing information about them and copies of the adoption agreement. If you apply, you have to go through this whole interview and home visit to adopt the animal.

Its cool because people meet the animals and it makes them get adopted faster! :)

its sucks when you want to adopt, all they have are pitbulls, when you want like a chihuahua. and why can't we save the puppies from the store. blah blha on supporting puppy mills i know gosh. but what about the puppies in the store, where are they gonna be when nobdy want them?

There are organizations that will SHIP dogs and puppies from places with a dog overpopulation problem to other parts of the country that don't have that many dogs. I just got a Rattie mix from Arkansas that way. Go to adoptapetdotcom and get started. I got mine from the Ozark Humane Society, you can google them or find that organization on youtube. If you really want to adopt a dog, you can do it. Dammit.

you know what this makes me think...... the puppy store that I said that I'm going to get my puppy from I will investagate it more cuz they say that they get their dogs from reputable breeders! but when I do go in that store and look for my own puppy I am going to ask a few questions and look up info on the web on where they get their pups from and If I find any evedince of ever they once gettng a puppy form a puppy mill I'll go to the mayor and shut them down!!

While there is absolutely no doubt that puppy mills are a terrible enterprise and need to be abolished, there are safe, reputable pet stores that do get dogs from breeders or even rescues. Check for an on-site vet, register papers, and AKC, CKC, or EKC registration.

But I firmly stand by that countries need stricter legislation regarding animal treatment, as they are clearly ineffective, allowing things like this to continue.

True, caring breeders NEVER sell their litters to stores. Their is no such thing as a "safe, reputable" pet store that sells dogs or kittens. But you are right on the stricter legislation.

He thinks of animals as commodities. The Hyundai is the shelter dog and the Mercedes Benz is his top of the line $3000 tea cup Maltese.

It is also "common knowlege" you can adopt there are rescue groups, SPCA, etc. for any dog imaginable. Please use this "common knowlege" when selecting your pet.

checkon, if you had a choice to do the right & kind thing wouldn't you do it? why not look for the puppy you want in breed rescue or a shelter - you can save the life of an orphan puppy, get what you want, and chalk up good citizen points all at once - you have that power!

Pet store buyers do get ripped off, and they get lied to straight to their faces. Employees and owners of pet stores will tell potential buyers anything they want to hear. It's all about the profit and never about the animal. Pet store puppies are nothing more than merchandise to them.
