That positive test was a fluke i think she was set up,just around that time alot of the American athletes were busted for drug use so they were trying to shift the attention to Jamaica.
@english2811 The test was no fluke she has been taking drugs since the end of 79, and furthermore... the IAAF, cleared her .. not because the test was incorrect, but because the retesting wasn't completed in COA time limit. IOC stands by the test and always had. This case is the specific reason WADDA was formed. Ottey is a big time DRUG CHEAT... who the hell sets their P.B. at 35 yrs old ???

@karrtt1234 you're comment makes no sense if she had been taking drugs from 79 why would she have set a pb at 35 ?? (she was 36 when she set her 100m pb by the way). you can't have it both ways.
I am happy for this upload. This proves that Jamaica has been around in the sprints for years. Listen to Ottey's introduction 2:01 Shes been running since 1980 and before. She ran competitively for Jamaica until the Sydney 2000. She was always cheated out of her gold tho by some doped up opponent. But see, Three Jamaicans in this finals as it is and has been for years
@mrdoitright4girls Oh Please give us a break here.Ottey is no saint either,go to google and see the number of times she tested positive. In 1999 at seville, she had to flew away from the championship for the fear of been caught and in that same year she tested positive 3 times in most meet.Dont come to youtube and make blank and pointless statement.
@spencertrum Agree this was a great era, but I reckon the current female sprinters, VCB, Felix, Fraser, Jetter and Stewart are the most exciting since this then. I am enjoying the current rivalries as much as these stars of old. It's been 15+ years, but worth the wait.
I'm laughing at these Jamaicans that think Jamaicans don't dope and are innocent. Everyone one was doped then.
