I love how at first you hate Snape with a passion and like Harry's Dad, and later you hate his Dad with a passion and love Snape. That takes true skill.
@darkfisted This is because Snape's life was miserable. Harry's dad was arrogant, and he had it easier than Snape did. We learned to appreciate Snape and what he has done for Harry (despite the fact that he hates him, and claims it wasn't for him -- for his mom). We realized that James' arrogance was not something we want to support. However, I don't hate anyone, I was just stating how things are for most people in this situation.
@darkfisted Or, if you read the books you still don't hate Harry's dad because you know they both loved Lily dearly and James and Snape were the Harry/Draco of their school years. James died for her and Harry, Snape died protecting Harry because he loved her. You shouldn't hate either of them.

@61Bolivia61 It is very different from how I pictured the chapter, but beautiful nevertheless. They didn't rush it, like they did with Snape's memory in OotP, and Rickman's acting is amazing as usual. A very beautiful and touching scene. I cried through it.

Oh god, I almost cried watching this... I'm an 18 year old boy is that means anything. This is such a wonderful video to probably one of the saddest chapters to any book I've ever read.
I do not want to criticize Stephanie or anything, but the storyline of Twilight series does not personally interest me cause it's about the typical vampire and werewolves stuff and I am kinda bored with those things.
Whereas JK Rowling's imagination of HP is beautiful and unique.

have you never felt bad for petunia? lily's sister, she was muggle and begged dumbledore to accept her. her family was pround of lily, not petunia, she was muggle. wouldnt u feel bad knowing magic was real but u werent part of it?

But it was really mean that after she didn't get accepted, she ignored her sister and hated her forever, calling her "freak..." but yes it is a bit unfair for her. but she could have gone some other way than hating magic and her own sister just because she couldn't use magic.

@deboraition You know what, I never actually realised that. Indeed, she never gave Severus a second chance. That's what I call unfair. I think she had actually liked Potter before that and when she broke up the friendship with Severus, she found herself free to love him. But I believe that only Severus could have loved her the way he did. I can't see Potter devoting his entire life to cherishing Lily's memory...But, well...our choices define us.
i just finished the book and seeing this video it hit me...the reason why snape asked of harry to look at him before he died was so that he could see lilys eyes for a last time:) sad story...
I found this around a year ago and decided to find it again today after re-reading Chapter 33, Harry Potter 7 and it's just as stunning and touching as the first time! :) You are extraordinary!! xx

Snape is the best character in Harry Potter Saga. WHy cant he be happy for once after all he has been through, but yeah your right. -sighs in defeat- it wouldnt be as tragic, buuut, that doesnt mean i have to like it. well in some ways i guess james didn't deserve lily but things happen, maybe he grew up a little? who knows, i just think things played out perfectly yet not so perfectly

@taryndancer29 The reason lily went out with him, aparently was because james was more mature in 7th year. So true,perfect but not so perfect. I just wish she had given Severus a chance, she gave James one so why not snape, right? I wonder how things would have been had snape not called lily a mudblood...

@deboraition You know what, I never actually realised that. Indeed, she never gave Severus a second chance. That's what I call unfair. I think she had actually liked Potter before that and when she broke up the friendship with Severus, she found herself free to love him. But I believe that only Severus could have loved her the way he did. I can't see Potter devoting his entire life to cherishing Lily's memory...But, well...our choices define us.

i just finished the book and seeing this video it hit me...the reason why snape asked of harry to look at him before he died was so that he could see lilys eyes for a last time:) sad story...

Snape is the best character in Harry Potter Saga. He is so brave and smart and the most important thing is that he changed his life for Lily.I am so sad that Harry found out that when he was already dead.I am sorry that they didn't get on well.I loved Snape since the very beginning 'cause Dumbledore trusted him and i've always seen 'something more' in him.I knew he wasn't just a cruel and strick professor.I adore Snape and I alway will and Alan Rickman .. his acting is just perfect.

This is exactly how I imagined it..
Poor Snape, he never got love or peace. Not at home, with his abusive father.. Not at Hogwarts, with James bullying him.. And eventually he lost the only thing he really loved..
And I imagine he couldn't live with himself after he told Voldemort about the Prophecy. He never found peace, poor snape. =I.
