They can seem odd cause the commercial must convince the veiwer that its more than a game or that the game console or the world inside the game is relevant if not spectacular. And with primitive graphics back in the day (Atari, Nintendo) you need more than screenshots to win people over. Systems nowadays can make the graphics speak for themselves, hence, thats why the PS3 commercial was bad

I enjoyed watching all of them to some degree. Number 10 has the charm of being an NES-era commercial with awesomely bad rapping. Number 9 has Phil Hartman. Number 2's crude humor made me laugh more than it should have. Mainly because I know the technological background of the system advertised and because of the horrid way consoles were advertised in the early '90s, number 5 was my least favorite commercial, but it still had some appeal.
