Nope - there's plenty oil in Burma. But Bush's track record of 'liberalising' countries isn't exactly shining. Plus the U.S. is about as welcome in most countries as the Nazi party.

The U.S. is inclined to be a tad heavy-handed, and I shouldn't think the Burmese would want one heavy-handed regime replaced with another - who doesn't even shyae the same language or cultural beliefs.
