  • Howcast trying to get me drunk with that bourbon on the rocks? *ahhem* I mean "Old Fashioned"

  • high ball? nah mang

  • This video got me drunk just by watching it

  • Don Draper does NOT approve

  • i wanted to see her take a sip outta that, see if she liked that crappy old fashion

  • was any 1 else thinking "old fashioned wat?"

  • i guess this is an old fashioned date rape drink.

  • They should call this floor because thats where you will end up after drinking this.

  • ummm... i think that was more than 2 and a half ounces or is that just me lol

  • @18fuzzball its because of the ice.... rofl

  • This is so wrong! That's an Aussie Old Fashion??

  • I don't even think I want her to make me a sandwich if she can't do an Old Fashioned.

  • The glassware is wrong. And that's waaay too much bourbon!

  • You put an old fashioned in an old fashioned glass. Wrong from the start.

  • wtf is that cherry for thn? =.=

  • Too much ice and you're suppose to use a Old-Fashion Glass rather than a Highball Glass. The reciepe is right glass is wrong.

  • lol - "if you don't have a muddler, use the back of a bar spoon"; that's like saying "if you don't own a Porsche, just hop into your Ferrari". I'm pretty sure that people who don't own a muddler are not very likely to have a barspoon either.

That being said, the way it's made here is awful. Just check out the related videos, there are tons of better examples/recipes.

  • how to make an old fashioned what?

  • wow that glass was to big , u put way to much Whiskey

  • @ZAVEUSZBC Your suppose to use an old fashion glassware... she used a much bigger glass and with all that ice it will dilude the taste of the Old-Fashion. The recipe was right. However, the glass was wrong...

  • the water should be about half the bourbon too much bourbon not enough water and too much ice get it right if your gona teach how to make one please

  • awful

  • Too much bourbon? Lots of light weights around here.

  • @Hyourinmaru8 Light weights? Maybe your just an alcoholic.

  • @thatguru877 Not at all, it's not hard to hold your liquor. I wouldn't mind being called one, though. :)

  • Turn that damn music off

  • she's lucky she's hot... shoddy method.

  • A spalsh of water is 1 oz?

  • Shouldn't this be made to an old fashioned glass?

  • SOUTH PARK!

  • that was literally 5-6 ounces of bourbon. what a horrible pour.

  • u want a little dilution to round out this drink - use your bar spoon...

  • a pint of bourbon

  • Actually, this is almost identical to the original 1880s recipe, right down to the lemon garnish. No cherry, no orange, no soda; just sugar, Angostura bitters and a splash of water muddled into a syrup, then add ice and whiskey. She should use an Old Fashioned glass, though.

  • the biggest mistake is that they are not using a tubler. the tubler is also called old fashioned-glas due to this drink. fail!!

  • terrible. don draper would be ashamed

  • You goddamn Aussie fuckwads. You know nothing of American cocktails. Go back to fucking kangaroos, you backwards creeps.

  • she forgot the cherry D:

  • She didn't even use the cherry...

  • way too much bourbon...

  • It looks like a pint of bourbon

  • if she cut it right after the video ended and that is a standard pour spout it is indeed two and a half ounces.

  • was that really two and a half oz. of bourbon?

  • Hey guys, Nevermind the cut in the box above I. Here's the real recipe:

    1 Sugar Cube

1/2 Teaspoon plain water. (For mixing)

    2 dashes of Angostura Bitters

1 orange peel, slightly muddled to bring out the oils.

2oz. of your favorite Rye whiskey or bourbon.

  • @dremelinskov Thats the recipe I was taught by my grand father. He was a bartender at the Plaza Hotel in New York. This is what I use at home and work.

  • doesn't make it the right one, sorry.

  • holy sh**, that's a ton of bourbon...

  • @zendojo3 lol she said 2.5 ounces but then poured a glass full.

  • That is way more then 2 oz of bourbon

  • si, la dose da cavallo....that is a dose for a horse......

  • geeze....that looks like a hell of alot of booze. Drink a couple of those a day and at the end of 6 months you liver would be as hard as a rock

  • who the hell can drink down a glass of straight burbon like that?

  • everyone can...mostly only one time in life without vomit! ;-)

  • two points: "straight bourbon" is bourbon without anything in it, so this is not, and straight is how we drink it 'round here, really.

  • to zerioni: oh, i get it now....so, if you put 1 teaspoon of sugar in 2 1/2 ounces of straight bourbon that changes everything. Glad you cleared that up for me.

  • Men

  • To: rsobrien: correction "alcoholic men"

  • Call me crazy, but shouldn't an Old Fashioned be served in an old fashioned glass?

  • You can serve an old fashion in a cocktailglass as well, then it is called Old-Fashioned Up and you use no ice either.

  • And Seuuuuuuurve ! WTF ??!

  • This is a terrible old fashioned!

I use a large (wide) rocks glass, muddle 1 suget cube and 1 cherry into 1 slice of orange that will fit in the bottom of the glass. Add another cherry, bury it with ice, and fill with a decent whiskey and a little bit of water.

    Garnish is stupid (my opinion).

It's not a fancy drink, it's among the original 'patsy' drinks since it is designed to take the bite out of whiskey. It's still overpowering if all you drink are long islands and tuaca shots.

  • yeah too much bourbon, not enough water! a few of those & I'd be on the floor :D

  • She didnt use the cherry?

  • RUBBISH! that's the worst old fashined i've ever seen. faaaaaaar too much ice and bourbon. i prefer using a sugar cube and dripping angustura and indian orange bitters into it, with a small amount of ice and a double bourbon. garnishing with a strip of orange peel is a nice touch, after gently squeezing some of the oils into the drink and around the rim of the glass. ...anal, i know....

  • sounds like a very good old fashioned ,but i like my drinks strong and with a lot of liquor so i'd stay with the 2 1/2 ounces, it's more "customer-friendly"

P.S: that was not 1oz of water! no way in hell

  • Nice... Strong drinks are the best drinks...

Maybe thats why so much ice?

  • I prefer rye whiskey to bourbon. Bourbon is so sweet and you're already putting in a tsp of sugar. Agree with BigRyo, the water is teeny and the whiskey is enormous. (BTW, she's Australian judging by the accent).

Also, too much ice. Jaysus. The drink will be 90% water in 10 minutes.

  • All drinks (unless neat or required to be strained) require the bartender to fill the glass with ice. All you have to do when asking for a drink is to let the bartender know that you want less ice. Of course we will then pour you less liquor and more juice or water... LOL

    Enjoy!

  • Good to know!

  • 1 oz. of water is a teeny splash.

2 oz. of vodka is half the glass.

    wtf britain

  • she's australian. idiot.

  • 14woo

  • No u

  • Nice vid Howcast

  • No one cares

  • next time if your gonna say first spell it properly noob :P

  • haha i was in a hurry to be first

  • epic elementary school fail
