  • NOO! ugh soo upsetting! she recovered beautifully though! get it!

  • I almost didn't notice the fall!

  • she took it like a champ. true artist just gets up and keeps going.

  • i saw no mistake! the floor wanted to come up and give her a high five, that's all!

  • it's funny that it took the people a second to realize that she had slipped. Mark of a good dancer- covering your mistakes well enough that people a. don't realize it right away or b. don't notice them at all

  • I don't think so she's no huma that's not possible !! =)

  • she slipped gracefully and continued the movement immediatly w/ music.

wow~ she's still a goddess to me, no doubt!

  • Wow, even if it's not her fault, she must have felt so embarassed... :/ What an idea to have such a slippery floor....

  • Even when she falls she makes it look so graceful!!!

  • she didn't fall at all

  • still not human to me!

  • she is a goddess anyway blame it on the floor

  • if she lost both her arms , she could probably function better than most of us

  • Love her! I once saw her in exhibition at the Palais Garnier do 32 fouettés on the marble floor! Flawless!

  • I have a feeling she was drunk!

  • at least she did it in time with the music.

  • well. so she's only 99.99999% perfect goddess...

  • Oh please, she's not human. She is just pretending to be human, so the CIA wont find out that she's really an alien from the planet where all the ballerinas come from.

  • I believe she didn't resin her shoes well enough. Of course dancing on pointeis slippery anyway with satin tipped shoes. Although your never supposed to wear brand new shoes to dance a full ballet. They need to be broken in at least a little. The soles have to be made a bit plyable so you can really show that arch.

  • What? This is nothing compared to Svetlana Zakharova. Svetlana's legs are really long, streamlined, flexible, and beautiful!

  • that floor was fucking slippery. i hope whoever checked it was fired

  • why is it such a big problem? i'm sure she had this kind of accidents before this already and she'll have some too. it' normal. not good, but it can happend to everybody.

  • Not her fault: the stage is clearly slippery. Shame on the technicians who prepared the stage

  • why was the stage so slippery? like what the heck thats dangerous! she could have hurt herself!

  • if she didnt put her hands on the floor i never would have realised it- i would have thought it was just a lunge put in the choreography

  • handled it like a pro

  • I love it. I'm glad it happened... It's a HUMAN MOMENT! It's why artists do what they do isn't it? To be human, to show humanity! She is still the most beautiful dancer i've ever seen and I love her no less for it- In fact I love her more!!!

I LOVE YOU SYLVIE GUILLEM <3

  • It was the floor's fault

  • You ballet dancers are brave. A slippery stage would scare the life out of me.

  • Omg, can't believe everyonce says they didn't saw it or it was 'part' of the choreography. She made a mistake, she slipped it was very clear: she is a human and even though she is one of the biggest dancers in this century she makes mistakes and people should not make a great deal about it.

  • @0Angelfromheaven0 uh duh thats cuz she handled it so well

who the fuck are you anyway? it was the floors fault.

  • A cynical person might observe that a rival(or perhaps, the corps de ballet, en masse) spread graphite on the stage, i.e., just before Ms. Guillem's entrance.

Thank goodness, I am not a cynic. Anyway, why are people so anxious to see a great artist stumble? It's perverse, plain and simple.

  • where? ahaha! I don't see it...Good Job Sylvie

  • She can fall as many time she wants to...

  • She didn't make a mistake. She just improved a new move.

  • SEE Dancer's EVERYBODY falls! Even the greats. Don't be afraid of it, like she proves here, when you fall it is an opportunity to learn how to recover!!! =)

  • stuff like this happens - she's great and floors can be very slippery

  • I blame the stage, but she recovered perfectly so it's ok :)

  • Its all about the recovery, and what you do after the fall. She covered it up really well and kept dancing excellent (as usual), making you forget it happened. The floor looks extremely slippery.

  • They shouldn't have done that to sylvie

  • THE FLOOR!!!! no question about it.

  • I don't think it was her, that floor looks so slippery! And anyway, it's the recovery that's important!

  • poor girl

  • Even the fall was as gracefull as a feather!!

  • Floors fault it's to slippery. She did a wonderful job.

  • Why would you ever think we thought she was a goddess! Yes, she is one of the best ballerinas today, but that doesn't mean we worship her. Get you head straight

  • the floor is shining with polish. Its like waxed and really slippery so it wasnt her fault she slipped. I would have fallen on my butt, so she handled that very well.

  • Stupid floor! She'd be fantastic even if she'd fallen on her butt and sat there! <3 I love her!

  • This is my favorite ballet and she was a WONDERFUL Aurora! <3 She handled that sooo well! ^^

  • The floor looks slippery as all hell! I would've slipped, landed on my ass, and started crying if I was her...she is so incredible. <3

  • She's human? Really!?

I thought she was a swan. A beautiful, graceful little swan.

    My bad. :/

  • That floor is too glossy. SHAME. Sylvie is still the dancing goddess we ALL know she is.

  • Yes, but then she goes on to do 3 consecutive grand jetes and extensions which hit her ears..

  • doesn't matter she's beautiful!!!

  • Stupid floor

  • It was a good save... XD =) My face would have touched the floor with a loud smack and then I'd be all water works from there on.... Glad she didn't get hurt and she kept on dancing. =)

  • I BLAME THE FLOOR CURSE U FLOOR!!!!

  • haha!!! supuse que pasaria eso

  • Comment removed

  • I blame the floor!

  • i still consider her non human...

  • She did not fall she took an early bow

  • slippery floors + satin happens to all of us! WOOTTTTT SYLVIE !!

  • I watched this 64 times, where's the fall? All I see is grace

  • this has happened to many... but it doesn't detract from their inspiring amazing ness...

  • Rake that stage for the queen Guillem!!! I mean, who get's a "Bravo" just in their entrance? Only Sylvie. <3

  • I had to rewind to check if I had missed the fall. You could hardly notice it! I only knew it was there because the title of the video told me it was. She is truly amazing.

  • ppl are so pathetic that they would post up a vid of an amazing dancer having a slip to make themselves feel better

  • i honestly wouldn't have noticed it if i didn't hear the reaction of the person filming. she's amazing!

  • seeing her fall and then get up like that just makes me love her even more :)

  • Good job she can do the splits! :D That stage looks very slippery though!

  • that stage looks slippery!

  • THIS WAS AMAZING.

Knowing that there was a fall, spotting it immediately, and seeing her IMMEDIATELY push herself up and continue as if nothing beyond the expected happened was incredible.

    Holy shit that was inspiring.

  • To the untrained eye, it could easily have been choreographed. in the words of my mother when I first started training to be an opera singer "The true performer will keep singing even if they forget the words, or if their voice cracks. Never let a fall or a blunder keep you from living your dreams. Keep singing sweetie, just remember to keep singing."

  • it can happen to anyone...

  • it was a pretty graceful fall.

  • That floor looks slippery like a Parisian catwalk.

  • when she ahrdly fell, it looked in a way like she was bowing to someone.

  • She carried on from that slip so well!!

  • i swear i didnt even notice

  • She is so brave to keep up after that slip so beautifully. Makes her better. That's mental strength right there.

  • maybe she was supposed to do that.. she kept perfect technique the whole time.

  • Uhmm, she still seems like a perfect goddess to me..

  • even though it was a mistake (as you could tell by her arms holding herself from the floor - which is completely sensible, only a fool wouldn't lessen a fall by doing so), I really like the way her body springs up from the bent position of her almost-fall. Something about it was quick and inhuman, like a very well-mechanized toy that has become animated

  • @ArtsLoverAnne13x well yes i used to be able to.an old war pal of mine from the light horse brigade taught me.in fairness though i could only do 8 in a row as the boer war era british army only allowed a tuppence/2d per quarter for saddle repairs and my riding boots made light work of ruining many a saddle.hope i answered your query anne.keep practicing love youll get there one day.all i can do now is sit around with no legs.at least my feet dont get cold.

  • I didnt see any Arab's in the video either or arab horsemen, I can personaly attest to @liebestandarte88 spining multiple rounds while doing the following rolling a smoke, riding a horse into a head wind. now I put that to your Anne can you do that?

  • @ArtsLoverAnne13x i am indeed a complex beast anne.what a wonderful and apt description... actually i only watched this because a girl i brought home used to be a ballet dancer and she made me watch a few of this ladies vids the morning after. i made the comment for fun to troll it up a bit..incidentally you write that i "criticize ballerinas for doing something i cant"..actually i criticized sylvie guillem for falling over.which i can do very well thank you.

  • @liebestandarte88 actually she's falling down en dehors!! you probably dont even know what that means but trust me, you couldnt actually do what she did in the video :)

  • @FyreBalletDancer are you on drugs? i did not see one horse in the entire video hahahahahaha, na youre ok!!! au revoir mon ami :)

  • @liebestandarte88 a horse !!!!????!!!??? if you read the word "horse" in my comment i think you're the one that ttok something ... bonne journée

  • @FyreBalletDancer when i have to spell it out its not as funny,, but she fell " en dehors" >>> en de-hors,>>> on the horse...id still give my joke a good 8.8 outta ten for timing and execution.

  • @liebestandarte88 ...... it actually sort of is funny, but it's still stupid of you to lack respect for amazing artist because they fell (en dehors) on a slippery floor

  • @ArtsLoverAnne13x .......anne you poor simple creature.good luck out there in the world kid.

  • It looks like she was supposed to bend down like that! It's not even a fall!

  • Omgosh!!! She got back rite up!!! She's the goddes of ballet!

  • i am disgusted with her.this has totally crushed my respect for her and all ballet for ever .that fall makes me glad i had my legs taken from me in the boer war by a cannonball.

  • It was definitely and undoubtedly the slippery floor

  • To error is human to forgive Divine .... And absolutly divine... Still stunning !!!

  • how much slippery could the floor get? I could see the dancers reflection!

  • where's the fall?

  • The floor wanted her for itself. ;O

  • Sorry, but that was the floor having an accident :) not her.

  • i actually had to go back and replay it

  • I am gald we all have it. Sylvie is amazing and so what she flubbed. Yeah she's still wonderful!

  • She is goregeous...it didn't even look like a fall

  • Sylvie Guillem, human?

    I still have my doubts.

  • I BET IT WAS THE FLOORS FAULT

  • But there's also like 15 gazillion videos of her owning it!

  • I can laugh at a funny joke and a quick slip, but I have to agree with removing this video.

  • amazing ♥

  • damn...take this off the net. i love her and she is amazing!

  • It just looks like she is doing a low curtsy to the courtiers - especially since she fell in time to the music!

  • The set design was controversial- the dancers hated the glossy floor, which was very slippery and attempts were made to re-surface it at the last minute.

  • So she's like Achilles. BARELY human.

  • REPLACE HER NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The most graceful improv EVER :D

  • she fell in time with the music lol.

  • I can see her reflection on the stage. It looks really slippery! It's great how she gets right back on beat with the music.

  • I´m still believing she´s a perfect goddess anyway, even when she fail seems a beautiful exotic bird...

  • hey at least her foot was pointed and turned out :)

  • The floor looks very slippery. But anyway she continued like nothing happened! She is so good!

  • She is not human, she's too good!

  • ahhh...this makes me feel a lot better about myself. sylvie falls too(: albeit the floor does look very slippery...

  • The floor looks slippery. But I must say I like Alla Sizova in that piece way better than Guillem. Really prefer her in contemporary works.

  • In all honesty that floor looks like glass! Anyone could of slipped on it

  • IF IT WERE NOT FOR THE ARMS, it seems a quarter and no one would know!!!:)

  • I can see her reflection on the stage! That is not a good dancing stage!! Not possible!

  • but so awesomely graceful she is just awesome lol

  • AMAZING EVEN THOUGH NOTHING HAPPENED

  • doesn't count. that stage looks SO slippery. and my first impression was her hands! SO lovely!!!

  • When I first watched this I was thinking: " Fall?? What fall?? Where??"

    THAT, IS GRACE :)

  • @EverlastingxHope I'm sorry, I sign a dislike on your comment. You're right!

  • I wanna learn how to fall like that :p

  • why are the floors even like that.. that's dangerous as hell. SOMEONE CLEAN THE DAMN PLACE UP, SYLVIE GUILLEM IS DANCING.

if she gets badly injured, i will burn this place down to the ground.

  • @iMPERiOUS Hahaha. Agreed.

  • i had to watch this five times before I could even notice her slipping...

  • It's not human to fall like this...

  • The floor looks slippery. Not her fau;t, I've been onstage when people fell from a slippery floor.

  • she must be the only person who could fall that gracefully

  • wonderfull :D

its hard to notice her fall :D

  • Of course she is human ! Everybody can fall on stage but she did it very gracefully !

She is a georgous ballerina and people think that because she is huge dancer, she can't afford to fall on stage. She finished her variation beautifully and at her place, a lot of people couldn't finish as she did.

  • the only reason people knew it was a mistake was because she put her hands on the floor :)

  • wow

  • The stage looked slick and look at all the junk on the floor. Sylvie Guillem is an angel that walks the earth, in slippers

  • She didn't fall, she just took an early bow!!

  • the chuck norris of ballet ;) she is superhuman still.

  • that stage looks so slippery! no wonder she fell... but in the beginning she looked like at any moment she was going to slip... oh well... she's still amazing!

  • that was a beautiful fall. xD;;

  • lmao it just looked like she purposefully went into a lunge and it was a tad sloppy. And just like a true dancer she kept going as nothing ever happened. Well done, Sylvie, well done ;)

  • i'm glad she didn't break an ankle...that could've been horrible...she recovered well..no one is perfect...

  • You aren't a dancer until you have screwed up on stage...She finished beautifully!

  • No wonder she fell. The floor is filled with flowers! (or something.)

  • wait... she fell?

  • i learned more from how sh handled the fal versus just her falling

  • If it weren't for me being told before the vid that she had made a mistake, I would have never guessed. It looked as if she were bowing in despair as part of the choreography!

  • only she can make falling on stage look perfect && part of the variation.

  • who cares she is a legend....

  • Yah right! Who would fake mistakes on stage...Maybe that's your way to get attention, but she doesn't need it!

  • @alvanwel uhm.... should I guess this comment was for me??

oh well.... 1. I THINK she did. 2. Nope, but I've seen people doing it.

  • @TheAngelgirl7 naw dude. if you knew anything about ballet, you would know that NOBODY and i mean nobody would ever fall for attention that is like the worst thing to do ever. and like at her foot man. it practically twisted in half and i bet it hurt like fuck, but she's so amazing she kept going. take your judgement some place else breh.

  • @applelemonhead3345 okay then....tell me at least one "bad thing" that could happen to her huh?

All I can think of is an interview on the news or so that would double the people going to see her because humans love seeing high rated humans fail.

And what twist are you talking about?? both her foots looked perfectly fine (for a ballerina) all she did was slide her foot.

  • @TheAngelgirl7 haha you said foots.

  • @applelemonhead3345 I apology my bad english..... but it's just that my actual language is Spanish and I can't avoid making some mistakes.... anyways, how does that answer any of my questions??

  • @TheAngelgirl7 its fine lol. it doesn't.
