Apple 'Mighty Mouse' Fixing scroll ball problem

Thanks for the video, i got the exact same problem. I just didn't understand what you actually cleaned and how, as it mostly shows how to open the mouse apart and put it back together. What is it i have to clean then, precisely?

I have industrial Meths (no dye) the unit with the 'Ball & 4 sensors' was simply fully washed in meths while taking time to roll in all directions until the SENSOR (1 of the 4) started to 'click'

Dude! You just have to pop the ball right out! Just did it today and there was a mound of dust, dirt etc UNDERNEATH the ball itself. It's simple.

Hi williamstdog9 except in my case there was not a mound of dust, rater the problem was in one of the track sensors :-)

how about taking paper and folding it, which lets you swab around the ball? no disassembling...

Not sure about 'Lazy & Efficent' (Paragliding joke for those that don't fly!) as I had to take the mouse appart again to insert the two 'zero force' ribbons! Mind you this was shot 'live' i.e. the first time I had put one of these back together....

Just back from flying at the Tayport Layby site & near the Tayport Lighthouse, meeting up with Ian Brand to grab airtime before the conditions went Gusty & Strong!
