what's the meaning of the word "wayward" :S

This is a song about the Prodigal Son which was a parable about how many of us slip away from the faith. Yet the Heavenly FATHER will still accept us into His arms. Wayword is like when we have lost our way and are away from our Father. But that is just my opinion.

I am a fan of original song last 4-5 years and i like this version very much since I'm student on Jesus College Fellows in Theology and Religious Studies. I've just never checked definition of the word "wayward" in english - croatian dictionary. Thanks on the uploads !
