Dear brother, those people who have fallen away didn't even knew Christ Jesus personally. They were just admitted as church members and the leadership of the church were they have been going didnt trained and taught them to the next level which the baptism of the Holy Spirit and Fire. If they recieve that very important baptism, they will never fall away because they will personally know God.
Church as we know it is the best invention by the devil to deceive the unbeliever into thinking they are believers and destroying the true follower by the fellowshiping with darkness. The modern pastor replaces Christ and becomes the all in all!
Satan does not create things he perverts what God created. In that sense, I think church has been perverted by Satan rather than invented for our downfall. As rampant and this problem is, there are still congregations of people that teach the salvation message and proclaim Christ, not pastor. Thanks for your comments!
Great Video. You are correct, there are so many Churches and peoples that are straying away from Jesus Christ and his teachings. Seems as if they are trying to make Christ fit their agenda. They are trying to evolve Christianity so as to coinside with their wants/needs and "their" beliefs. That is such a shame. I am a sinner, but I do know that Christ died for my sins and was resurected on the third day. I know that Jesus is my Lord, I feel it inside. I pray that I am found worthy in the end.
When one is filled with the Holy Ghost, they BECOME the church. The church system that you see today has nothing to do with the Lord Jesus Christ. People either look at it as some type of social club, or a type of works based system in order to justify and approve themselves before God. The whole "You're not a Christian unless you go to CHURCH!" ideology is what most professing "Christians" believe to be the truth. It's sad to see so many people deceived. Show me "Go to Church!" in the NT.
While I would never proclaim "go to church or else you're not a Christian" I do see much value in meeting together with brothers and sisters in Christ. And there are many Scriptures that address this need. The key is to get into a good Biblically sound group.
I would agree that there is value in meeting with GENUINE born again Christians. The problem is finding them. The Scriptures you refer to, in my opinion, are what the religious zealots use in order to put backsides in seats. That's all they're worried about. "Church" is so bad today, that if you were to start preaching the TRUTH of our Lord Jesus Christ from the "pulpit", the vast majority of people would leave. Then you would find them waiting outside in order to persecute you.
I cannot speak for ALL Bible Churches everywhere but that is where I've landed here in Dallas. I love my church and its full of the genuine types that you speak of. Perhaps there is a church like this near you that would be worth checking out! I wish you the best.
Huck...I am not familiar with that term. Perhaps you can elaborate?
If you mean churches that preach hellfire and brimstone...I am not on board. I think its important to answer questions about the afterlife but scaring people into belief is an absurd idea to me.
Sounds like another way that churches are using marketing techniques and blending themselves with pagan/secualar traditions to attract "the world". I will watch the vid that you post below but I suspect I would not like this idea.
Church IS a place to gather and worship God. But it is also a place to learn, grow, and better understand Christ. The at home part is VERY important but those that have the knowlege should be teaching as they are commanded. Thanks for your thoughts!
Wow, I forgot how much I hated church until seeing your video. When young, I was taken to many churches, always the same phoniness and shallow stuff. By age 12 I rejected it, but not God. By 18 (notice the legal age of independence) I was introduced to my right pastor.
So by now, I've forgotten the prior experience. What you say here, Edge, probably represents most Christians; it's a wonder folks still believe in Christ after so long in such horror. I sure couldn't have done it.
When you are down you look for words that Jesus spoke that encourage,or you would say that they were laid upon your heart because you have remembered them. If fire extinguisher instrutions are not clearly understood, who do you blame? The writer or the reader? I hope I am not coming across as sarcatic (I don't think I am ) and want to be respectful of your time (not playing the "Answer 1001 of my questions" game.) My page is 'under constrution' while I tend to a home based job. YT can be work
SC...ask anything you would like. Its why I am on YouTube. But in this case perhaps you can clarify your question. I have a bad habit of misunderstanding people in textual formats.
Part 1 So you are feed up with your seeker- friendly church, so you pray to start your own Christ centred community. You and some close friends meet in your basement and become a very tight knit and "In the Word". Fellowship is awesome, and everyone is committed to giving 10% of their time and money. Worship is a guitar and there is time to share and care for others. Others hear about the great things that are being done in your new group and want to join( an answer to prayer PTL!!).
Part 2 Your basement is no longer big enough to hold the group and someone knows about a school basement that is free Sunday mornings and the money that the group has faithfully saved is enough for the rent( an answer to prayer PTL!). The gym is available after the service and someone feels lead a sports-youth ministry on their own time( they have always wanted to do this, an answer to prayer PTL!).
Part 3 Growth, blessing, answer to prayer, growth, blessing, answer to prayer, bigger facilities, more programs, new converts, more connected people. The larger the church the less connected people feel and the more is being spent on support staff and helping to continue growth (an answer to prayer PTL!).So someone is feed up with this seeker- friendly church, so they pray to start their own Christ centred ...and repeat
I suppose this is what CAN happen and perhaps you are recounting your own experience. In my case I went to a Bible Church that was already established and just down the road from my previous place of worship. It feeds me and has the kind of doctrine that should suit the mature in Christ as well as the seeker. Afterall Jesus did not adapt His message based on who was in the crowd. His ministry/message was the same to everyone!
Let me clarify. Jesus did not poll his audience of 5000 to first ask who was spiritually mature enough to handle the meat of his message vs who had just joined the congregation and needed to be "eased" into it. Sure He spoke on different topics and to different people but He never changed who He was. My church too often either left Christ out of the sermon or made Him who the seeker wanted Him to be.
I never had much need for my ears to be tickled. I have always been a straight shooter and can usually identify when I am knee deep in the stank. Thanks for watchin bro!
I don't know about all Methodist churches, but the one my mom and I went to when I was a child did not preach the doctrine of salvation. It felt more like "playing church". That, and the corruption in that particular church was instrumental in pushing me away from God until I truly came into a genuine relationship with the Lord in my college/young adult years. It's really sad how many churches are basically "empty" and devoid of Christ's indwelling power. God bless you, bro. Great video.
Yes...sadly my story seems to be quite common. Many have shared a similar experience to mine whether they came from the Methodist denomination or elsewhere. "Playing church" is a great way to put it. That's exactly what it is!

As far as I can see Church is simply a place to gather together to worship God.
This is all well and fine, but if you don't have a "At home" relationship with Jesus as well as every Sunday then you are lost.

"Afterall Jesus did not adapt His message based on who was in the crowd. His ministry/message was the same to everyone!"
The same message to the little children as the money changers in the temple? I think you might mean 'internally consistant' I would say
Zacchaeus and 'the Rich young man" got different messages and different responces. 'Same to everyone' is at odds with a 'personal relationship'
