Yes. Concur! This is perfect. Nice close-up, great camera angle and precise, simple description. It's been a long you tube journey for me. 'Just' wanted to play ellliot smith's 'tomorrow tomorrow' which led from one thing to another .. but the journey ended here. Now to get practicing. Thanks for taking the time. You are obviously a natural teacher!
Thank you so much for so detailed and useful tutorial for playing tremolo. I'm still beginner in playing classical guitar, but one piece of tremolo that I tried has sound almost impossible for me to play until I found your video. This helps so much! Thank you a lot for great lesson on playing tremolo!
Is there a name for the song, or is it just something to practice with? I agree with everyone else, this is a great piece to practice. I like how it skips the 5th string during the Am - it makes you think and more aware of what you are doing with P.
I was struggling so much with my tremolo, being a self taught guitarist, and therefore I thank you so much for this video. I have been trying to play Leyenda Asturias for some time now and this will help tremendously. Thank you Paolo!
Thanks for your detailed video! I found it just as I was getting a bit frustrated practising tremolo with Recuerdos de la Alhambra. I have been having issues with my ring finger hitting the adjacent top strings (eg, after plucking the 6th string, my ring would tends to hit the 5th string). After viewing your video, I have found a new motivation to try again and follow your finger movement and hand form. Appreciate your diagnosis of my problem and tips to avoid this. Thanks!
Great tutorial Paolo. I understood your way of teaching. I do have an issue with fingernails and how to shape and maintain them. I am sure that it will help out with playing and tremolo lessons. Could you explain on a video how to do that? Thank you very much. Joe
@motimenow Hi Joe, thanks for your comment. You´ll find something I am sure on the web about keeping your right hand fingernails trimmed just right. What I do is putting a bit of sand paper on the strings and then playing the tremolo or an arpeggio.
That gives me a clear view of the direction I should file them and which side should be shorter ..
@paologeminiani Thank you Paolo. I tried that using a piece of 320 grit fine paper wrapped around the 2nd string and held the guitar in the playing position like you suggested. I than played the tremolo and it filed it down nicely. I need to allow the nails to grow further out but there was a noticeable difference while playing even though the nails have not developed yet. Thanks so much! Joe
@paologeminiani, paolo thanks for this important class of tremolo, its very instructive . Why dont you make a tutorial video of Recuerdos de la Alhambra. I and many people more here in You Tube, would be very grateful and eager for a gesture of such generosity. Ringrazia
hello paolo..thnx for this awesome lesson....i have a problem....i'm able to do this tremolo at speed but by keeping my right hand pinky finger as a support on the sound box...is it a bad technique? should i try to lift the pinky and then do this???
One best practice/lesson I've ever seen in you-tube, great job man and thanks for sharing it with us, just a quick question are you playing open E for your AMI
I have to say... I haven't found anyone yet that put as much detail into hand shape and placement as you have... Great lesson, THANK YOU!!! I love that accent, by the way. :)
Speed is not a matter of pratcise as much as it is of a God given ability. Practicing will help you improve your technique and in turn that will optimize your speed to a certain extent. In other words practicing will take your potential for speed at its maximum level.
Paolo - Thank you for taking the time to break down the Tremelo and teach it so skillfully. You have challenged me to really practice it and get it right. Thank you!
Thank you Paolo, this was exactly the exercise I was looking for - somthing for a beginner that teaches great technique while also sounding great. Keep up the good work!
Hi paolo! I see you have accent! Are you spanish descent? about the video, thank you very much i saw other videos but tbh this is the one i think it explains better, specially because of your advices about the position of the hand, thank you very much.
Paolo, you are the man. Thanks a million.
