It amazes me how when I first watched Lost, I somehow managed to hold myself together when Charlie died, but when Hurley tells Claire he's dead, I lost my shit completely.

This was so heartbreaking, and it was even worse when Claire came out smiling like nothing had even happened just a couple episodes later. Charlie was my favorite LOST character ever. RIP, Charlie Hieronymous Pace.

i think the music change at 2:42, as we see locke watching, and then looking clueless is very heartbreaking. it really does add to the emotion, and it's just one of those really upsetting moments because hurley and claire are both quite innocent, sweet characters, and they've just lost someone they really cared about.

Nope! :D Claire's very much alive. She just dissapeared but thats it. Luckily she's coming back as a main character in season 6, and the producers said that her character is one of the most important in season 6. Still, Charlie was one of my favorites :(

charlie couldn't avoid his death, if water is gushing in & filling a room the pressures are unequal & opening a door would be hard (hence why you'd have to wait for the room to fill to equalise the pressure)

+ he couldn't swim out the hole & up because its pretty damn deep for just one breath & chances are he'd get ''the bends''

i was in denial for along time too about him being dead after this scene but he is.

it hasn't been discussed how he's coming back exactly, but the lost execs said that charlie would be in some of the new episodes! i'm only assuming that he'll be coming back in the same context that he came back to hurley in season 4, essentially a ghost, but he was there to guide hurley back to the island. maybe he'll have something to do with getting claire back? who knows! i'm just excited to have my favorite character back! :)

i have a REALLY big feeling that Hurley is going to die that they essentially will do another ''charlie'' on us, episode 12 of season 6 is called ''everybody loves hugo'', but he does play quite a big role so far in season 6 so maybe.

Its not really her fault though the problem was the writers didnt have time to give her an epsiode to mourn and come to terms with his death (damm you writers strike) and claires usally the one who gets shafted when it comes to screen time (they really should split this epsiode between her and Hugo), so it unfortanely all happened off screen. Plus there was alot going on and she had a baby to worry about she couldnt afford to fall apart.
