  • oh s*** oh Fcuk. ops wrong key i hold the orang key oh sorry wrong one wrong one ops S*** ops Fcuk. sorry im from south india.... OPS WRONG ONE

  • Just got my Pre... Absolutely abysmal that you cannot copy from anything except what you have already typed.

No copying from texts, email, websites etc...

Dickhead palm programers note: If I already had to type the information your BS mickey-mouse copy and paste are of no use to me!

  • Copy and Paste on my Pre is abysmal compared to my iPhone 3GS. I can only copy and paste text I'm entering. I can't copy from email, webpages, or text messages. I hope Palm will change this down the road. It kinda stinks right now :(.

  • Remember that your 3GS is a 3rd generation handheld unit and the first iphone didn't have no copy or paste. The Pre has it first time out the box.

  • Copy and Paste is much better in 1.2, though I still can' t copy text from texts. It's great though. I can copy images and text from webpages now, etc.

I've been a cellphone whore for several years now, but for the first time, I'm finally content with a phone that isn't the iPhone. In fact, I prefer Pre even more because of the smooth ~out of the box~ multitasking.

  • sorry wrong one wrong one lmao

  • hahaha this looks so shit next to the iphone copy/paste

  • The Palm Pre does look abismal when compared to the iphone's "heating pad" & "I.E.D. exploding battery" apps.

Your point about Sprints network only working in this shitty country is brilliant, because I really do give a shit what network your provider uses in your 3rd world shithole country. It really does have a negative effect on my quality of life.

  • Of course it only took Apple 4 or 5 revisions to finally include copy/paste at all, right? What's amazing is, the Pre at launch is still infinately more useful than the Iphone. Sure apple has 30,000 apps in it's app store NOW. But at launch the Iphone had NADA!!! Even so... out of those 30,000+ apps how many of them are useless little craplets like "paddle ball" or the virtual light saber? Please Fan boy... get a clue.

  • Forhball1968 I agree.

  • you guys are ignorants you can do the same with any palm since year 2000 when I had my first palm I was able to do that copy and Paste with finger you just need it understand your palm device in fact I have now a treo755 and I do it all the time!!

  • Iphone... be afraid.. be very afraid, haha! I dont have anything agaisnt Apple, I actually have always wanted an iphone since it came out. But I couldnt get it because I was Sprint and I have the Family Plan. So I couldnt plan on changing companies. So I am very excited now that I can finally get a phone very much like it, but with many upgrades and cooler things than iphone. I cant wait till it comes out! XD

  • 1. copy and paste

    2. send this to 2 other videos.

    3. hold your breath for 10 seconds

    4. press refresh twice

    3. LOOK AT YOUR BACKGROUND IT WILL BE FREAKY

  • suck a COCK

  • Good deal. This will come in handy

  • i have had touchscreen and physical keyboards. i prefer the keyboard. the touchscreen is so overrated.

I like to type fast and correctly when sending sms and emails. and from what i have witnessed these few months apple and rim should be afraid, very afraid.

sprint has the fastest network of any i have tried and their customer service has improved greatly.

    don't knock it. :)

  • Dear iPhone fanboy... Pre demonstrated cut and paste well before Apple did. And this feature won't be available to iPhone until after Pre is already released. Let's just straight that out...

Secondly, who cares if Apple's cut and paste will be "superior"?!! It's all about ease and convenience of use and what Pre has demonstrated is very easy! What about all the major features that people look to in a smartphone that Pre has that are far superior to iPhone?! It's only cut and paste dorkous!

  • It's spelled "dorkus", and exactly, it's only cut and paste. I didn' t say the Pre's won't be a good smartphone platform. I just like responding to ridiculous comments about how the iPhone is lame because is missing feature "x". What's with the anger?

  • The Pre's text select method seems difficult, using two hands to press two things. Idk if iPhone's will be better or not, but I love WinMo's since I can just highlight and right click.

  • Well imagine if you were holding the Pre in your left hand, it would be very easy to hold down the shit key with your thumb, and use your right index finger to select text. The device has been well designed so that when slid open the top half is not heavier than the bottom/base, so the weight is always comfortablely distributed.

  • Shit key hahaha

  • Comment removed

  • i just wish that the keyboard was apart of the touch screen.... screw keys!!

  • nah

  • Palm OS also had copy and paste years ago, and its a feature I frequently use. Only the retarded Iphone doesn't have this feature.

  • Yay! They remembered copy and paste! Major plus over the iphone.

  • landscape keyboard is de facto standard now because i think we all recognise that it makes the most of a small space.

palm pre looks exciting, but that keyboard looks a little lame.

Also, I have to say - I understand that WinMo has its problems, but it's had a cut/copy/paste for decades ... I can't believe all the fuss being made over such a feature.

  • Maybe it *looks* lame, but when you have physical buttons, they don't have to be as big as a screen keyboard. Plus, typos are rare, because you can feel that you are on the right key. With a screen keyboard, you have to be very precise or you miss. I have used both extensively, and the physical keyboard is far, far quicjer to use. You can actually type with both hands, which is about impossible on an iPhone. Try it, and you will see.

  • hey dood, get a coffee :) ... i was comparing the pre to landscape physical keyboards ... i agree with u, touchscreen keyboards are helpful, but they suck in comparison.

    good w/e.

  • When you say it looks lame, what do you mean by that? Not "cool" looking? What does a cool looking PHYSICAL keyboard look like?!

The point of a physical keyboard is so that you dont have to eat up UI screen space with a virtual one, therefore maximizing the viewable application space! Also tangible keys are much easier and faster to type on because you can almost remember where the letters are (like on a computer keyboard) without having to look at them; you can focus on what you are typing!

  • it looks lame "to use".

I'm all for physical keyboards, but only the landscape type.

  • sweet. watch out apple!!!
