pc is better fore sure, but WOW the ps3 HD version has nicely cleaned graphics compared to playign on the ps1... love this game!

i wish they made a rollercoaster tycoon 2 for ps1/ps2

@jonzz0000 Thats really the Ps1 version in action just he is using Ps Smoothing which smooths out the graphics for Ps1 games and looks better

Wow! I remember this game! This brings back memories! I still play Sim City except I have Sim City 4 Deluxe Edition on the PC which is just only Sim City and the Rush Hour Expansion Pack but it has lots of replay value overall! Retro games for the win! If the Playstation Network, Wii Shopping Channel and Xbox live added more retro games we enjoyed, it would be a major hit! lol

Hells yeah. SimCity 4 DeLuxe has been installed on my PC for two years now, it hasn't come off, and it's still being played. Nothing beats that feeling of satisfaction as you see the first skyscrapers of your city being built downtown.

Some feel this version is better, but I personally feel that the PC version is, mainly because of faster performance, and when you've built your own city, you can use it in SimCopter, a game where you fly a copter protecting the city, and Streets of SimCity, where you race and cause havoc in your city in your very own missile equipped car. All three are great games, and I don't know where I would be today if I not had them throughout my childhood.

@jshawn777 you should try to connect water,roads,and electricity lines to the zone you want to build in, remember you need power plants to connect the electricity lines to. tell me its works or if it doesnt, ok?

If you could handle the use of the analog use with this game, it can be such a fun experience. I was too addicted to this game. Loved every second of it. The music, the creating, the slow loading and cheating. So damn fun.

@MoarLolz The issue is that the non-PC versions of the game can suck. I really think the PS3 and PSP versions should have been remade instead of PS1 emulations, since they have Analog sticks.

are you sure the game is not paused? even paused you can still lay things down, etc. but if houses are just sitting there everywhere then the time is paused for sure. resume it and itll change.

Ya know in the near future, they should make like a remix of this game. It should be called SimcityY2K Revolution or something. I don't think the Societies game helps the series. I mean they removed the RCI demand meters and that sucks. And you have to place buildings instead of selecting an area and waiting for it to grow.

Hell no! They've already done a remake of SimCity 3000 for the Wii called SimCity Creator, anyway the ps1/psx/ps2/psp/ps3 version of SimCity 2000 is a remake/remix.

Yup it is. Although I heard a rumor that saving a bunch of PS1 and PS2 games can harm the PS3 games that you can play. I guess the PS3's memory gets confused of having 3 sets of memory which is PS1,PS2 and PS3. Oh well, at least its compatible and functional huh?

Well, I may buy it for PS3 anyway seeing as there is not much else in the strat genre on the PS3. What I would realy like is a game like Koei RoTKXI on PS3 and I can't understand why it is not available for it. The only reason I can think of is that the smaller studio programmers just don't want to deal with the steep learning curve of programming for the Cell processor. Last console I owned was Sega Genesis and it had a better library of strat game than PS3, much better.
