  • lol when the the gient ice man shaking spyro

ice man: STFU!! STFU!! STFU!! STFU!! STFU!!

    Spyro : Leave me alone :''''( u son of B***h :3

  • cheat engine tables spyro3. my cheat table 100%

  • I still can't figure out why the final whirligig model is different from the incomplete one. The greenish coloring looks a lot better in my opinion... Also, isn't that hidden tunnel a low-rez model since it disappears when you go near it? I wonder why they put that there.

Anyhow, this is all quite impressive. And I'm sure there's still much more to discover - keep up the good work. :P

  • @Ansem072 Thanks! Well, this video was the result of a huge comb through Spyro 3's object animations. I have my doubts as to how much remains to be found by searching... but the most interesting stuff comes by surprise, so you never know!

Yeah, the hidden tunnel is part of the low-res model. It's weird though. Levels are made up of segments, and the tunnel segment is actually in the high-res model as well - but it has no data; it's completely empty. What a tease!

  • @LXShadow So basically, not unlike much other stuff hidden in the game, the tunnel is either an object that was never completed or it's another leftover of Insomniac's "playground". Am I right?

By the way, I couldn't help but notice that Bentley is spawning chickens in Scorch's Pit. I may be wrong, but, doesn't he actually do that when you play on easy mode too? I know for a fact that you won't see chickens there on hard mode.

  • @Ansem072 Right, but actually, the tunnel is part of the level scenery model (not really an object) - comparable to the cave in Fireworks Factory. Only, the tunnel is in the low-res scenery.

The chickens surprised me as well. I actually have no idea if I was in easy or hard mode, but I know why they spawned: the hack triggered the crack protection, so the game messed with my Sparx (check out 2:14). Bentley noticed I was close to dying, so he just wanted to help out a little. =P

  • @LXShadow Haha, figures. :) I remember having to go through that Sparx issue the first time I played the game. Turned out, when I hit Exit Level to go get some more lives, I was no longer able to confront Scorch; the rocket transported me to Midnight Mountains instead.

Well... object or whatever. I assumed it was an object since most of the 3D game maps are built using a series of separate models. Battlefront II is a good example of that.

  • @Ansem072 You've had that issue before too? I see..... =P

It's interesting how you mention about game maps- I haven't played Battlefront games, but the games I have hacked enough have actually done the opposite. They tend to use a single 'static' model for the levels, and other 'dynamic' models for the objects. Crash Bandicoot: TWoC, Spyros 1-3 and Spyro: AHT do this. Still, all games are different!

Oh snap, now I've gotten technical. Shoot me before it's too late!

  • @LXShadow Indeed, I was forced to play a cracked copy the first time. I'm happy now though, I got myself the Greatest Hits edition and it works just fine.

Yep, I noticed that Spyro games actually do use a different kind of setup. Even AHT, judging from the look of the hack video of yours - the castle chambers are left untextured. What I actually meant was that Battlefront maps that take place in interiors are built with models only - outdoor maps have a terrain like any other game.

  • @Ansem072 Oh, okay. Good to know since GH > NTSC > cracked copy!

    (...GH > PAL also. =( )

I always like to learn more about how games work. Thanks for all the info! AHT's maps were a bit of a mess, yeah. Exploring those empty places without textures, music or characters is actually pretty creepy, and even depressing - one reason why it took me to upload the first video.

Spyro. Hogwarts. No sky. Dark. Empty. Quiet.

    Yep.

...*running out of things to say =(*

  • @LXShadow Hmm, subtly compared. That's something I must say. :P

I know what you mean though... I've had my share of no-escape areas and without any kind of stuff they definitely give you the "forever lonely" feeling that won't go away until you restart the game. Ahh, I hate those places... never again will I visit them!

    ...

...Oh. I guess there really is nothing to say about them.

  • @Ansem072 Nope. Nothing more to say about those depressing places, and little in the way of Spyro hacking/beta news. =(

Still, thanks for all the info, and for having so much interest! =D

  • I think you can make the penguin go crazy if you attack him at the rocket.

    They forgot to remove that.

  • @Herpderppsyduck You could be right, actually! I'm not 100% sure about the penguin's reaction at Evening Lake (it might be my memory but I don't actually remember any of them reacting at all), but I know that quite a few of the characters by the flying machines react differently from the way they do in their native level - the firefly from Spooky Swamp I think is another example. One thing's for certain: Insomniac messed up. =P

  • can I get thews codes?

  • @scott12330 Sorry, but no particular codes were really used in this video. I generated most of them on-the-spot with my own tools- then I probably deleted them. =/

They were also PAL codes, so you might not be able to use them to begin with (the difference in region is also the reason I don't tend to release my codes).

  • Comment removed

  • @LXShadow oh ok me I use my psp and the tool i use is raing3 v1.63

I found a lot of codes like

Have super flame breath 0006FB90 01010000

    Run Fast 000703D4 00007FFF

    HOLD X FOR MOON JUMP

    D0071500 00000040

    300703BD 0000000F

    FREEZE GAME 0005529C 00868021

    UNFREEZE GAME 0005529C 00808021

    and mush more :)

  • @scott12330 Interesting... just don't forget where those freeze codes came from! ;)

  • @LXShadow yes I know but thews freeze codes don't work I just have to make some changes to the codes. and I found the freeze codes to spyro 2 :)

  • thats cool. I am looking forward to uploading some gameplay of this game if I can get hypercam to record the freaking sound!

  • Some one teaching me the right way to use ps2dis on ps1 on spyro 3

    please i want to hack too :'( :'( :'(

  • That snowman shaking spyro is Activision.

  • Some people think that duck's voice is sexy :/

  • @ryanmcbr I can swim in air and I have a legal copy.

  • @ZupChao9999

    I have tons of "Knowledge".

Just, get up to date, and I am finished here. alright? -_-

  • @ZupChao9999

    I'm already up to date.

If somethings funny, you don't say "That's funny" anymore...

    People say "lol". alright?

    You get up to date.

  • 4:16 spyro thinks it's better to be a limpet than a dragon xD

  • I hate deleting comments, but please don't discuss ISOs here. This might be a hacking video; but as someone who eventually wants to be in the game industry, I'm against piracy. Thanks.

Spyro can still be purchased legally on the Internet and maybe even in some game stores. The PSN may also have/had/will have it at some point, so keep an eye out.

  • @ZupChao9999

    ............

    erhm'.....*cough*

uh, you do know people don't say "That's realyl funny!" anymore.....RIGHT?!?!

Thats SO outdated! Jeez people GET UP TO DATE!!!

  • Definitely subscribed. :'3 I have a big interest in modifying game data and finding secret content, as showcased in this video. Could you tell me how you got those certain couple of object orbs in Scorch's Pit, or how you got the five different Whirligig models in Midday Gardens?

  • @AngelOfAnEnd Firstly, thanks for the subscription!

To answer your question: with a lot of searching. After looking into the game's object ("moby") system, I wrote an object editor plugin for my emulator to change the properties of nearby objects- including their type and position.

After that, I simply chose an object in each level and flicked through the level's object types to see if there was anything interesting. It was tedious (even with an object editor), but it got its results!

  • @LXShadow Sounds complicated compared to what i do. I simply use Cheat Engine to browse the Addresses of the Data and edit their value. Would I be able to access those Object orbs in Scorch's Pit by finding their Data address and changing the Value? I know i can use Cheat Engine to edit what Animation the characters do. :'3 I accidentally found a way to make Spyro a Statue and another that accidentally Changed Spyro's Double Jump glitch in Spyro 2 to an Infinite Jump.

    And, :'3 You're welcome.

  • @AngelOfAnEnd It looks like you've gotten pretty far into that area of hacking! The hacking I do is at the next level (so to speak); so no, you can't really find the powerups with Cheat Engine.

I used ASM hacking along with writing my own programs to get this far with Spyro 3. The powerup orbs were edited with a bit of experimentation (there is a pointer near the base of the object's position in memory that deals with mobytype-unique variables)... it's too complicated to fit in this comment!

  • 4:15 Alright, ALRIGHT!! Let go already!!

  • Now we know to be respective of Scorch's difficulty, seeing as he was 10x easier in the beta battle apparently.

  • It's good to finally see all of your finds, LX! That green enemy you spoke of looks completely different from the lot of characters (the oddball in the bunch - pun intended). Great vid! I hope to see more in the future. Take care.

  • how you do that

  • @ryanmcbr Probably both - but I can proudly say I've done this on a legal copy.

You would still need to find the right code to do it, though. (Or the right glitch.)

  • Could it be possible to find the Professor in Evening Lake this way?

  • @SpyrotheDragonBoy200 It's a good idea but I'm afraid I already tried. His model isn't loaded in Evening Lake, I'm afraid.

  • @LXShadow I suppose the same complies for the in-cutscene regions (the Dragon Realms and Sorceress' castle)

  • @SpyrotheDragonBoy200 Actually, I haven't had a look at the cutscene levels... I don't think I've made any programs that can do that. But they're not very likely to be anything special, because as far as I know the cutscenes are usually made last.

(On the other hand though, there is actually an empty space in the game's cutscene region, implying that one may have actually been cut. Unfortunately there's nothing we can do to retrieve it =/)

  • Hi LXShadow since your really good with hacking with pretty much Spyro games can you try to hack or find hidden removed content in Crash Bandicoot games like Crash Twinsanity and I'm not talking about the demo version of the game just talking about the final version of that game so can you try that ?

  • How Did You Find These Hacks? Please Answer Me

I Try To Find Many Codes But I Didn't Find Like This

  • @hyperknuckles8000 Definitely interesting stuff! I discovered the Fireworks Factory room myself. =P I just wanted to show some newer things in this video.

@yearofthe Er...that wasn't what I had in mind when I uploaded the video. Guess it's too late now!

@CrystalFissure Thanks! It's too bad that the room was so low-res (we could've possibly have a better idea of what it really was otherwise).

Spyro 1 and 2? Yikes...I haven't found anything in those games yet. Maybe in the future...

  • Thanks everyone for the comments!

@Zanmatt2g @BlazingFyreofDoom @TheCameronCage: I mostly used ASM disassembly - it's a standard form of hacking. After that I made a program to automatically find certain codes for the mobys (enemies, gems, baskets, etc.) in the game.

There are quite a few tutorials on how to hack, but they're not simple. The "GSHI" is a good place to start (I learned from there when Hacc showed me it).

  • Wow! You got to the room! Nice new enemy too! And those different textures on the whirligig were also interesting. You were right though; there really is not much hidden in Spyro 3! Next up: Spyro 1 and 2?

  • Can I say the guy at the beginning looks like he's jacking off?

  • Awesome finds. How did you find all that? Was it deliberate hacks or all glitches or what?

  • How you find?

  • 2:58-3:17

Rhynoc Ice Skater: oof! *falls over* (repeat several times)

Spyro: Shut up! *freezes Rhynoc) xD

  • lol. Very very nice

  • Nice !

  • this is sooo cool

  • Nice finds. Apparently Scorch was going to be a lot easier.

  • Nice finds.

  • 4:31, 5:10 °_° xDDD oh I love this, so interesting! ..the never used powerups in the boss battle o.o and at 5:27 how they make step by step the helicopter!!!!
