I played WoW during the beta to L20, but once the actual lanuch happend I though the game was kinda boring. Swtor however does the story much better which makes it less of a grind and more like a single player RPG with coop missions on the side.

Thats way more my thing.

Still, I am not sure my pick, a trooper commando, is the best for PvP, but hes a great allrounder in PvE. Being both a decent healer and area combatant. Only downside is that with crappy players they dont take away your agro...

ah man im quite disspointed by this game, rail based space battles, and homing lasers wtf, you see them lasers changing direction half way to the target..... reminds me to much of a hybrid of wow and star trek online, come to think of it looks a LOT like STO, same colours, user interface is nearly identical. Looks like fun dont get me wrong, but If i buy this game I will get bored before the first "free" month runs out.

Why are you all hating on the fact that he's clicking? I laugh at keyboard turners too but this is being played at an EXPO. He hasn't been able to set up key binds or even get fully acquainted with his abilities. This is clearly a high-skill player dominating despite probably being out of his comfort zone.

I'm worried about the Vanguard's hybridization by nature. I'm afraid if I go that route (which I want to), I'll be stuck in a "Why should I tank when a guardian can do it better?", and "why should I dps when a commando can do it better?". Thoughts?

@jdblackbelt There is no hybridization. As a vanguard you can spec for either dps OR tanking. There is no tank better than any other nor any dps better than any other, it all comes down to play style and a fight by fight basis, up close, melee will have the edge, if the ranged is able to cc and get away and maintain range, it wins. If you choose to split your spec obviously you will lose out.

What seems to be rather certain however is that SWTOR isn't going to have any of the qualities I mentioned. I heard that GW 2 boasts about getting rid of the "holy trinity" of tanks, healers and damage dealers, which I find quite appealing. If they actually manage to do that I'll definitely be interested.

TB has a point, one of the thing that turn me off from wow is how stupid my BE swing her weapon. I keep telling my guild mate that I would love to see wow animation to be on par to Dynasty Warrior. Also.. i'd like to point out age of conan, which got worse and worse the levels got higher with level 14 being the best the game had.  So your arguement is invalid. Accept that this games engine is inferior and is relying heavily on its storytelling to be good. The PvP looks ASS. End.
