  • "I've also installed ... and ... , so here we go"

Wait, what are those programs? What do they do?

    "*silence*"

    Ah, cheers for that.

  • i have cubase le 5 is it different to cubase 5? and it didnt let press f11..well i clicked it atleast but it didnd do anything

also its connected and anything but i cant hear aything///whats wrong

  • @guitartotee. There are subtle differences in the various versions but most functions are used similarly. Cubase needs to be installed with the proper pluhins, vst-settings, sound card drivers and settings., If you do not get a sound you could perhaps have the wrong in- and outputs setup. Try to look in the manual or get support from the store you bought the software and/or hardware from.

  • how are there more likes than dislikes on this video

  • @jditmer0. Thank you for that comment on that video. It really helps us master how to create valued videos. In fact we can all, hopefully, gain tremendously from your exemplary and interresting comment for this video.

  • @IntoMusicLund lol. I like you. There needs to be more people like you on this planet.

  • @jditmer0. Well, thank you. We appreciate your kind words.

  • @jditmer0 i agree,cant see the point !!

  • did you download analog factory for free or did you buy it?

  • @TheGottfred. Hey, as mentioned in the description "a few demo soft synths" it is a demo soft synth. Do not know if that particular is available anymore but you could check it out from the links provided in the description

  • Hey ran into a small problem, I don't know how I did it, but now 0.01 seconds takes up half the screen, so the cursor bar goes extremely fast, tried googling how to reset the settings to default but couldn't find an answer.

  • @iwillownyourface. That is actually a standard display setting available from within the software (bottom right). You should contact the store you bought it in or the supportcenter for Cubase tyo get help with that if you can't solve it. Allways on top is also a good thing to use :)

  • Hi when i start up cubase it says soundcard cannot be read or something help please

  • @XxOregon, If your computer doesn't have the proper drivers installed, cubase will not be able to find it either. So, reinstall your hardware with the compatible software and then install cubase. (You might not need to uninstall the cubase software first)

  • uuuhhhhh

  • @AnimeGameMaster. Brilliant. Thanks for your informative comment. We can all, hopefully, gain tremendously from your exemplary and interresting comment for this video.

  • @IntoMusicLund Thanks, I try, I try. :) lol

    Cool video btw :D

  • my keyboard outputs volume expression very low is there a way to set the volume expression to maximum?

  • @jomann18. Hi, if you consult the manual to the particular keybord I'm sure it would say right there how to do just that.

  • @IntoMusicLund my keyboard is 25 years old. it has a total of 8 buttons none of them turn off expression.

  • I connected my keyboard with a midi-usbcabel, and when I play something the sound is coming in a second later:(.

can somebody tell hoe to solve this?

  • @tijngorter. Hi, the problem you refer to is most likely something called Latency. Latency can be a problem related to bad drivers or badly installed drivers to either soundcard, the I/O port or the software you are using. Many DAW (Cubase, Logic and so om) ususally have a latency setting options. Using a standard sound card it could be that that card isn't good enough to get a good performance. Look over you hardware, reinstall the apropriate drivers and try again. Hope it works out for you.

  • hauhaua LOL! Jean Jacque Sux Jarrie.... it smells like dirty cunt!

  • @gsagula2. Well, thank you. Haven't got a clue to what you refer to, but still, thanks for watching.

  • I really need help. :( I own a Yamaha MO6 Music Prod. Synth. I've already connected it, installed USB-MIDI Drivers. When I started recording, the voices were noot of my keyboard's.. It's of the somewhat preset voices in Cubase. how will i record using the voices in my own keyboard. ? :( I would really appreciate any answers from you.

  • @TheWikimapia. Hi there. Midi doesn't record audio. Midi (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) is only a type of control you use to for instance play soft synths. If you wan't to record the audio from your yamaha you need to locate the outputs from the yamaha and connect those to the input on your sound card. The you could use Cubase as a sort of live recording device.

  • i got a problem, When i play on my midi keyboard, when i Play notes, its opening folders, and plugins and not playing, what do i got to doo?

  • @DandoMusicGroup. Hi, without knowing anything about what your hardware / software is, I will not be able to help you. However, restructuring the midi commands to open folders seem just a bit too off. The best solution is most often to do it over again. Reinstlaling the soundcard, DAW and midi device. Purge the system of any old drivers and / or plugins that may cause the problem at hand. Allways follow the manual the was provided with the software / hardware. Good luck!

  • @MrHoi1995. Hi, you are experiencing something called latency. To get rid of latency you probably need to update your hardware and mainly the soundcard or the drivers for your keyboard.

  • Hey when using the Virtual Midi Keyboard which allows qwerty use.

Can I use more than the keys shown like. for example I'll press W and R and the same time and then after that I'll press B and M or can you only use the keys shown ?

  • @PdubzCrew. Hi, I do not know. Never used the Virtual Keyboard so I can't really help you. You could locate the manual and perhaps get the answer you seek there.

  • @IntoMusicLund

    Ok thanks for that !

  • I was wondering if you could please help me. I have the Behringer UMX610 midi controller and midi works perfectly, but I would like to know if there is a tool that allows me to "pitch down" the midi so that, for example, the middle of my keyboard with be moved down a pitch, if you understand what Im saying.. I want one note to be lower, but still the same note. I know how to do it once you've recorded, but can you do it live, while u listen to urself play? Thanks so much!

  • @1DoubleMproductionS1. Hi and thanks for watching. You do not need a tool for that. For the particular keyboard you have there is an octave shift. What happens is if you press C3 and go one octave down by pressing the left octave shift you will then have C2 on the C3 key resulting in a full octave lower. The octave shift is located just above the mode wheels. Good luck.

  • How do i get the knobs on the remote working?i'm only able to play the keys..i have the remote sl25 compact since 1 week and i dont get it.its making me crazy..please help me out... Thanks

  • @flashpadxxx. Him you need to use the Automap feature provided with the hardware or download it directly from the novation site. Then you need to set it up in your favourite DAW and then you have it :)

  • hello, i have cubase 5. the midi has stopped working, i can see the signal but hear no sound.

  • @cortezforever. You can contact the support directly and they will surely be able to help with the problem.

  • Can you show me how to use the pc keyboard as the midi keyboard? thanks!!

  • @feedstirr. Hi, I never actually did that myuself but I'm sure if it is a software you would be able to view the user guide from within the software.

  • oxygene part 4?

  • @jkk45. Well, I 'm adding a bit to it in this demo, but basically yes it is. However it is not the correct sounds, the correct melody, drums or bassline.

  • hi what audio interface are you using?

  • @Venom8419. Hi. The interface I used for the above video was the Focusrite Saffire LE Firewire.

  • Cool! Just wanted to ask how you mapped all your knobs and faders on your MIDI keyboard to cubase. Ive been trying to figure this out for a long time...

  • @whatsupdealer. Hi, I am using the Automap feature provided by Novation. That particular software allows you to easy setup your knobs, faders, sliders and so forth with the daw of your preference.

  • i have a korg pa50 and a roland synthesizer GT

when i connect them to my pc with UM-1G midi cable i cant get the original sounds into my computer, all i get when i play something is a basic piano on music maker software sound packs but i want to record my original keyboard`s sounds and beats can some one help ??? do i need any other cables ???

  • @l35505. Midi doesn't transfer audio. You need to connect you Output via the connections marked Output and the connect them to Input on your soundcard.

  • Does this have a printable score? Thanks, Josh

  • @jdjep. The version explained does, yes.

  • @IntoMusicLund Is that within the sofware that you pay for or do you have to get some external application to print the score? thanks

  • @jdjep. It is available depending on what version of the sofware you purchase. You can check the differences for the three different versions on steinbergs homepage.

  • heyyy i downloaded analog factory and cubase, followed your step but when i go to the f11 vst instruments theres no analog factory??

  • @DearDiarymusic. Have you followed the instructions that accompanied the products? You need to follow the guide about installing, adding and setting up the VST instruments properly in cubase. Normally you would just need to update that registry once or not at all if setup properly.

  • Hi,

This video has been very helpful if I might say so. I'm a student and I use Logic Pro at school for my music work. Because of the high price of Macs I've been forced to look elsewhere for a different solution. I was wondering if Cubase 5 is anything like logic pro?

Also, how many instruments does the Cubase 5 come with? Or do you have to get some form of additoinal software/add on to have the same number of instruments Logic Pro has?

    Thanks, Josh

  • @jdjep. Hi. I haven't used / tried / watched logic pro at all so I can't say what the differences are. The sounds/instruments in cubase 5 (depending on what version you select) are a plenty.

  • I have Casio CTK-451 and it have a sign MIDI... Can I play that keyboard in Cubase?

  • @T3paDz1ja. Yes, you can use that particular keyboard as a midi controller if you have the proper drivers for it.

  • good job of explaining the basics. BTW for others there are forums for your technical difficulties.

  • @MrArcelton. Thanks, and yes. There are numerous forums available out there too.

  • what this beast cost man

  • @amdispersed. there are three separate version available.

Cubase 5 Essential is about 150 EUR, Cubase Studio about 350 EUR and Cubase 5 is about 500 EUR.

  • @IntoMusicLund i have download free version of cubase 5

but it aint working its not like set up

its of 99 mb but nothing

  • @amdispersed. Umm, there is no free version of cubase 5 that I know of so I do not know what you mean.

  • @amdispersed i download Setup_Cubase_4.1.0_64 too man

    it aint working still

it says smth about processor only

but i have everything which is needful

    ram and stuff

  • Yeah I Got LE 5 free with my ZOOM G2.1Nu and it didnt come with an activation code either

  • @nellings6. The activation code is downloadable from steinbergs site when you register yourt product with the serial number.

  • @IntoMusicLund So do I enter the series number from my interface into eLC or to Steinberg?

  • @nellings6. There is a guide on steinbergs homepage. Google the following: Cubase LE 5 Activation and Registration. Follow the first link and do as stated :)

  • Does anyone have experience registering CubaseLE5 that came free with another product? please share some insight.

I purchased a USB/MIDI interface and it came with CubaseLE5 but i cannot register/activate the program because i don't have the proper serial number. Let me know if you were able to register/activate it.

  • @jdirt2019. The serial number is printed on either the cd envelope or the papers that was suoplied with the hardware. If there isnät a serialnumber you should talk to your supplier and ask them why it is missing in the package.

  • is it possible, like in garageband, to view the musical notes instead of waves?

  • @alexandredl. Hi, thanks for watching. The information you seek is available in the user guide / manual for your software version.

  • @alexandredl yes it is possible

  • is it possible to install your kaoss pad into it?

  • @DearDiarymusic. yes it is. Altthoguh depending on how you use it there can be a terrible latency issue using it.

  • is it possible to record using a kaoss pad ?

  • @DearDiarymusic. Depending on what you mean specifically, Yes and No. Please specify what you mean.

  • @IntoMusicLund heyy sorry late reply, i mean like producing samples on the kaoss pad and saving them to a prodject in cubase to then overdub? sorry im new to this genre and so frustratingly uneducated about this stuff, thanks!

  • hello man, how to plug the usb midi keyboard to be recognise on cubase ?

  • @3SSBYtv. Hey, any usb - midi keyboard is installed using the usb port. Once that has been done you should go to cubase and select the keyboard from the menu of midi inputs. There could be a lot of them, you just need to select the proper one to get it to work...

  • Great vid, If i have kore 2 HW& all the SW plus mpk49 midi KB plus cubase and a good PC can i do this or do i need the digi003 and all the extra stuff, i want to slim down my studio to something simple. thanks

  • @DJbizzum. You do not need digi003 tio be able to use this. You can go for any soundcard you want.

  • i wanna create synth without using midi keyboard,is there a way to do it?

  • @Jed9133. Yes, there is. You can create your own midi tracks without using a midi keyboard. Take a look at the video again and notice the section where I show how to edit some of the parts that where wrong. From there you can create the parts you need without a midi keyboard.

  • can i use the sounsd of my own GM keyboard in cubase 5?

  • @TheWishfulGoddess. That depends. Cubase uses the spounds from what ever soundcard is connected through your computer. If your GM keyboard also acts as a soundcard that would absolutely work OK.

  • @IntoMusicLund

My GM keyboard is a PSR-270. I don't think it has it's own sound card. It has midi input and output. I dunno what to do lol

  • @TheWishfulGoddess. Well, Cubase uses the soundcard you have in your computer. All soundcards have a GM bank (maby not all, but most of them do). So, when your keyboard is connected to your computer and you use Cubase, cubase will play up all the midi through your soundcard to the speakers attached to it. You should be up and running in no time at all :)

  • Thanks a lot for your video for a very beginner here I am!!!~~~

  • @tkrojam. Good luck with the creative work. Just start it up and create :)

  • @IntoMusicLund

As I am a beginner and I have some questions to ask for, would u mind add me in msn?

  • Comment removed

  • @tkrojam. Hi there. Unfortunately we do not use MSN or other onlince chat services. But if you want to, please send us a PM and we will do our best to help you.

  • @tkrojam ok then, i do appreciate!~thanks in advance

  • How would i be able to record the sounds off my actual keyboard insted of useing it as a midi?

  • @muffinness69. To be able to record the audio from you keyboard you must first make sure you have a line output from your keyboard. If you have that then all you need to do is to plug that output into your soundcard and start recording from the selected channel on the soundcard. If you do not have an output you could rig up a microphone and connect that to your soundcard and start recording.

  • @IntoMusicLund Thanks, I figured it out :)

  • @muffinness69

    ditto

  • jean michel jarre, great song

  • i am trying to get my Yamaha Dtxplorer hooked up to this, but i cant get it working anyone help?

  • @jarradooo. To be able to get your drum kit to work with cubase you have to look into the midi setup guide located in the manual. You would want to assign the proper channels to whatever kit you are using. The Cubase Drum Map should be the correct tool for you to use.

  • @IntoMusicLund thanks for the help :)

  • What's the difference between a MIDI keyboard and a normal keyboard? If I were to plug a non-MIDI keyboard into my computer would it not work with Cubase?

  • @Shade0591. Most normal keyboards today actually have a midi function. But, the difference is that a midi keyboard is soundless and is only used to control the installed midi software in your computer OR to control any hardware based synthezisers with midi connection. If you have a midi in/out/through on your keyboard you could use it as a midi device. Also if you have a USB-output you should be able to use the normal keyboard as a midi device.

  • @IntoMusicLund Thank you very much.

  • i thought this vid its about installing your midi keyboard into cubase. How do i do that? its so simple with Reason! pls someone help!

  • @alezz1. To be able to use the midi devicxe of your choice you first need to install it in the computer properly. Once that is done you need to go inte the devices setup in cubase and select it from the list. It is quite easy actually :)

  • Hello, when i press f11 nothing comes up. I went to devise setup in cubase, but all i get is ASIO DirectX Full Duplex Driver and Gebetic Low latency Driver thats it and my new interface does not appear. I just bought this interface called Alesis io2 and only came with a Cubase trial instalation cd. How can i record using this interface in Cubase? thank you.

  • @guaicololo1. If the drivers for the interface have been installed properly you should be able to select them in Cubase. However, I have never used Alesis so I'm unsure to what the problem could be. To me it does sound as a driver related problem OR it could be that you haven't uninstalled your previous sound card. It is recomended that you uninstall any/all old sound cards and drivers prior to instlling the new one and then install a fresh cubase copy.

  • everytime i play a not on my midi keyboard it reverberates like 3 times per note and its bugging the crap out of me. i cant make music till i figure out how to get rid of it.. any tips or ideas to get rid of it?? it isnt the keyboard so it must be something in cubase..

  • Ok, but you also recorded metronome. How can you get rid of it. Can you just listen to metronome while recording but not really record it?

  • @owies1983. The metronome or click is in fact not recorded. You could easily just turn it of when listening to the track. I prefer to keep it on to be sure that I play/record it in proper time.

  • @owies1983 yep! it comes with the software, you choose whther or not you want it on at all, set the tempo, set the time signature, and it will not be heard in your recording

  • Thanks for taking the time to show us that.

  • @Hutzpah123. Hey, thank you for the nice comment.

  • Wat for sound cart u got ? ; )

  • @noijen123. The sound card is a Focusrite Saffire LE sound card (Firewire)

  • how is the Focusrite Saffire LE working for u do you still get a lot of latency? excuse my spelling pls

  • @CHRCAR5. I don't really get any latency at all. I do get a few clicks and scratches here and there but that's due to the VIS Chipset in the computer (VIA is NOT recomended for any type of music production)

  • man the fucking UHHHHHHH gets anoying as fuck

  • @Helljon23. Well, I'm not an english talking person and I did this on the fly. But thanks for the . . . interresting, comment :)

  • could anyone tell me a midi keyboard make? would korg work with cubase?

  • @UrbanGuerilla88. The keyboard used in this video is a Novation remote 37SL. If your korg has a midi interface it would work with Cubase, Yes.

  • Comment removed

  • Could you do the same thing using the Cubase virtual keyboard? and also what is the name of the plugin you used for the synth

  • @TouchtoneMars. Hey, Iv'e never used the virtual kbd but I guess that it shouldn't really be a problem. The plugin I use is the Artura Analog Factory.

  • @IntoMusicLund. I don't see why the virtual keyboard shouldn't work. The plugin I use is the Arturia Analog Factory.

  • Could you do the same thing using the Cubase virtual keyboard?

  • Comment removed

  • @flashchrome I use the Yamaha Psr E413 and yes its installed properly because it works fine with other programs but with cubase, it doesnt come up for me to select it ?

  • @cypriotchaos. Depending on where you are in Cubase it is just a question of selection. When selecting midi input in cubase you select input per channel or per track. So, when you create a new midi track, select midi sound, go to the Edit channel settings window (should be at the atmost left view of your cubase) and from there you should have something saying: "All midi inputs". Click in the list and select your midi controller.

  • cubase 5 , as made me feel like newbie after useing cubase 4 ,so many new tools

  • @mokuchley. Hey thanks. Apreciate your comment.

  • what midi is it at 140 sec ? where can i get more sounds like that beautiful synth ?

  • It is from the Arturia Analog Factory free edition, downloadable via arturias homepage, chek clinks in the info box.

  • HI where do i get this for cubase5 ? all so more important where do i get more synth ? thank you

  • To get VST-instruments for your Cubase just google: free vst instruments and download anyone you might want.. The one I'm using here is from the Arturia Analog Factory downloadable via the link (arturia) in the info corner.

  • Hey how did u get more vsts in ur cubase 5 im new at this and i dont know how to set up new ones or get new vsts would u please help me with this problem thanks

  • Hey. To install new vst's just follow the intructions provided with the plugins. Normally you download the plugin, install it in the cubase vst plugin folder and then make sure Cubase detects within from within the setup in cubase. To locate the plugin manager open cubase, click on Devices and then plug-in information. From there you can select folders and also update your vst-instrument library.

  • A nice watch. Ty. I only have Cubase SE but the same principle applies. I was inspired now, so I'll get crackin. Thanx again.

  • Thank you :)

  • Hey, cool vid!

Is it possible to use software keyboards without a MIDI controller? If so, does Cubase 5 have any software keyboards of it's own, or must they be downloaded from another source?

    Thanks =)

  • Hi, I believe it is possible although I have never tried it myself. I do not think that Cubase comes with a software controller. Such a controller could surely be downloaded somewhere.

  • @IntoMusicLund - Ok, thanks for the quick reply.

    Cheers!

  • Thanks. Will do more extensive guides later on :)

  • Nice! One fast way to quantize all midi notes is first pressing ctrl + A and then just pushing Q.

Thanks for posting this! Cheers from Finland. :)
