i really dont get that , my teacher explained it to me 5 times , i watched 15 different turorials and i still have no idea what ur doing , and i am really good at math , my mark was 96% , but in math , this thing has nothing to do with hte regular math
@TheMrProfy Think about the origin of our number system. Do you think we count by powers of 10 because that's what math allows, or do you think it was just an arbitrary number? Not all peoples in history counted by powers of ten. What you're doing when you change base, is you're changing the powers by which you count by, the number system you're working with. The only thing we grow up with is base 10, so changing the base doesn't make intuitive sense.
Interesting stuff... taking Discrete Math next semester, and I'm looking forward to it a bit. Finally, a math that relates to my computer science major.
Maybe check out Kahn academy to see how they teach. Just saying 2, 2, 2, and this cant be 3, so this is 0, and this is 1, so this = 10,000 makes shit sense to someone who doesn't follow. Explain how you got to where you are going!

@27mchapman - lol gcse was easy compared to alevels and uni i am doing know.
all you need to do is the homework, do some maths/english work/science work alittle the whole year....and the other subjects do it in the last day XD then you will pass
