Just look at such things as the ipod, whose weak competitor " Zune" failed miserably, and the iphone, which outsells most other phones in the business, and don't forget the new ipad, which has broken a record for the most sales in the amount of time it was out. @TheMonsterHawk sorry dude but i own both vista and snow leopard mac moodbook and in terms of operating systems mac is much worse. it has barely anny software (which the makers of those adverts use as anadvantage- its idiotic) it crashes more often than vista its slower, its "intuitiveness" which is so advertised is a load of bullcrap in reality mac os was the most unfriendly system i ever worked with. so dont say its better, theyre creative? doesnt matter if theyre not utilitary.

Today I inserted a cd, boot up a mini linux from the cd, enterded on more than 15 porno sites and I accesed some of the sites from top 100 most infected websites, like some sites from china rusia. Than I ejected the linux disk returned to windows,scaned with mi bitdefender antivirus, with norton online and kaspersky online and no infection found. So using multiple os or kernels is better.

Its not really fair to bash on movie maker. Its free and comes with windows. Final cut pro cost a heap and then you install it. I should know considering I have several macs and pcs. Windows movie maker is not there to make multi million dollar movies. Its their for 40 year olds to put vacation clips together for a dvd. Final cut pro can be fairly complex for alot of people to use and is expensive. That is why their is iMovie. Only problem is that it is not necessarily included ether.
@frosty9595 I'm sorry, I'm a PC and NOW Mac user also. But before I had a Mac i knew of Final cut Pro and somehow I think you missed the point. Windows Movie Maker is simple, yet useful program. Final cut Pro is JUST what is says - PRO. It is make for movie producers, but IS affordable by hobbyists and home users who want the same quality. I prefer Adobe Premiere 2.0 myself. Not Movie Maker, not a complex as Final Cut Pro, but video editing, sound editing (with Adobe Audition) rock!
Oh, i took it you were more concerned with as price difference. Windows Movie Maker not have advanced text usage or filters. iMovie is cool, but lacks also. My thoughts were from this "Ill be waiting till moviemaker becomes better then final cut or Imovie. " - No offense meant.
My point was that its not fair to bash on movie maker when mac os x does not include one at all. I know that movie maker is worthless for anything more then the most basic of video editing but lets be honest here... Isnt that all that most average people need? I do like iMovie and its my personal favorite... final cut pro can get a little to complex at times.

Shame on you for never reinstalling your own OS. iLife may come come bundled most of the time it is NOT included with OS X. Install a retail copy of OS X and you will see.

Even macs get cluttered with crap and little bits of programs that get left behind. It does not happen near as fast as on a pc but it happens weather you believe it or not. And dont call all PCs junk just because your a mac user... makes mac users look like uninformed assholes... PCs have alot of stuff thats better then macs and macs have alot thats better then PCs. I use both every day because of that.
I suffer for 8 hours a day using a PC, and dream of using my Mac. Every PC I've used has had problems and takes forever to boot when my Mac Pro boots in 16 seconds. Answer me this. Why is it on my Pc when I go to save or open something and click Recent Documents, the list is sorted from oldes to newest, every time. That's stupid. And it doesn't remember that I've sorted from newest to oldest next time. Whereas the Mac does, which of many things makes it much smarter.
If your pc takes longer then 60 seconds to boot its the fault of ether the IT guy at work (which im assuming you have to use a pc at work) or the user for adding to much shit to start with the machine. Also the recent documents issue is again because of some kind of restriction your IT guy put on the registry thats stopping it from writing the setting. My pc boots in 40 seconds and 15 of those seconds are caused by my raid array spinning up. Without the array it would probably take 25 seconds.
It's doubtful IT would have set my most recent documents to display the oldest first and not the newest. There's no reason to do so. I find this on other PCs. And to fix this it's some sort of registry hack. Um yea I'm gonna wear a T-shirt on the front says I love regedit and on the back the windoze logo, NOT!
Thats to bad youve never gotten to see or use a pc running at its full potential. And like I said before.... Those little setting issues are because of whoever originally set up your pc. Not because all pcs are bad. And yes its anoying when IT managers and such fuck up the OS like in your case.
I'll ask out 6'7" 300 lb. IT guy if he configured my PC that way. Bets are he didn't because that doesn't make any sense. I'll tell you what else is annoying. Application not responding. Clicking END TASK doesn't end task and neither does the 3 finger salute. Wait 2-3 minutes for the entire computer to crash while every open application from that point END TASK. I'm using the Adobe e-learning suite, primarily Flash Photoshop Captivate. These programs fail and l have to reboot, annoying!
Ending the task trys to do it gracefully but that usually does not work... the correct way is to just end the process... And as for the whole computer crashing and having weird settings... iv seen IT guys disable the battery meter on laptops before. And much much stupider things.
LIke I said the 3 finger salute to get task manager still doesn't always work. Gracefull or not I shouldn't have to do it at all. I know I don't for my MAC!
So just because you or your IT guy filled your work computer with crap does not mean all pcs are bad... They are just like cars... give them a little love every now and then and they will last years between service jobs.

Except for the fact that when you buy a Mac, you are usually good to go for the life of the machine (which by the way is much longer than a PC). A little over one year ago I switched from PC to Mac and I'm very proud to say, I'm never going back. Everything just works on my Mac and I've never had any problems (unlike my PC).

I own 2 macs. But I use them for educational reasons mostly because I take graphic arts in school and cs4 is way better on a mac then pc
I switched to mac and will never go back.
Ill be waiting till moviemaker becomes better then final cut or Imovie.

Its not really fair to bash on movie maker. Its free and comes with windows. Final cut pro cost a heap and then you install it. I should know considering I have several macs and pcs. Windows movie maker is not there to make multi million dollar movies. Its their for 40 year olds to put vacation clips together for a dvd. Final cut pro can be fairly complex for alot of people to use and is expensive. That is why their is iMovie. Only problem is that it is not necessarily included ether.

@frosty9595 I'm sorry, I'm a PC and NOW Mac user also. But before I had a Mac i knew of Final cut Pro and somehow I think you missed the point. Windows Movie Maker is simple, yet useful program. Final cut Pro is JUST what is says - PRO. It is make for movie producers, but IS affordable by hobbyists and home users who want the same quality. I prefer Adobe Premiere 2.0 myself. Not Movie Maker, not a complex as Final Cut Pro, but video editing, sound editing (with Adobe Audition) rock!

My point was that its not fair to bash on movie maker when mac os x does not include one at all. I know that movie maker is worthless for anything more then the most basic of video editing but lets be honest here... Isnt that all that most average people need? I do like iMovie and its my personal favorite... final cut pro can get a little to complex at times.

Like I was saying before. Movie maker is the most basic... Thats because its free. Its just enough for most people... Macs dont come with a video editing software at all... So its not really fair to bash on it for doing exactally what it was meant to do. iMovie is better then it and in turn it costs some money... Final cut pro costs alot and is the most fully featured... Personally I use iMovie most of the time and then adobe after effects on my pc when I need more complex options.

Even macs get cluttered with crap and little bits of programs that get left behind. It does not happen near as fast as on a pc but it happens weather you believe it or not. And dont call all PCs junk just because your a mac user... makes mac users look like uninformed assholes... PCs have alot of stuff thats better then macs and macs have alot thats better then PCs. I use both every day because of that.

I suffer for 8 hours a day using a PC, and dream of using my Mac. Every PC I've used has had problems and takes forever to boot when my Mac Pro boots in 16 seconds. Answer me this. Why is it on my Pc when I go to save or open something and click Recent Documents, the list is sorted from oldes to newest, every time. That's stupid. And it doesn't remember that I've sorted from newest to oldest next time. Whereas the Mac does, which of many things makes it much smarter.

If your pc takes longer then 60 seconds to boot its the fault of ether the IT guy at work (which im assuming you have to use a pc at work) or the user for adding to much shit to start with the machine. Also the recent documents issue is again because of some kind of restriction your IT guy put on the registry thats stopping it from writing the setting. My pc boots in 40 seconds and 15 of those seconds are caused by my raid array spinning up. Without the array it would probably take 25 seconds.

It's doubtful IT would have set my most recent documents to display the oldest first and not the newest. There's no reason to do so. I find this on other PCs. And to fix this it's some sort of registry hack. Um yea I'm gonna wear a T-shirt on the front says I love regedit and on the back the windoze logo, NOT!

Thats to bad youve never gotten to see or use a pc running at its full potential. And like I said before.... Those little setting issues are because of whoever originally set up your pc. Not because all pcs are bad. And yes its anoying when IT managers and such fuck up the OS like in your case.

I'll ask out 6'7" 300 lb. IT guy if he configured my PC that way. Bets are he didn't because that doesn't make any sense. I'll tell you what else is annoying. Application not responding. Clicking END TASK doesn't end task and neither does the 3 finger salute. Wait 2-3 minutes for the entire computer to crash while every open application from that point END TASK. I'm using the Adobe e-learning suite, primarily Flash Photoshop Captivate. These programs fail and l have to reboot, annoying!

Ending the task trys to do it gracefully but that usually does not work... the correct way is to just end the process... And as for the whole computer crashing and having weird settings... iv seen IT guys disable the battery meter on laptops before. And much much stupider things.

Mac is cool, sleek, elegant and STRAIGHT to the point. I deal with a LOT of people who buy a Mac, but don't even know HOW to use a PC - Windows NOR basic Move your mouse, click a button, let alone Mac OS!!! I love my MacBook (OsX) and my Desktop (WinXP).

I agree with the fanboy wars part, since Mac VS PC or Playstation VS xbox etc is just "my dad can beat your dad" for geeks. Im a geek myself but being a fanatic is never good. Although I disagree with the real world part to some extent. Some people DO care, since many companies rely on computers and things have to work properly.

Except for the fact that when you buy a Mac, you are usually good to go for the life of the machine (which by the way is much longer than a PC). A little over one year ago I switched from PC to Mac and I'm very proud to say, I'm never going back. Everything just works on my Mac and I've never had any problems (unlike my PC).

very true what you say Eclipse EDM its better to build your own pc for your personal needs..i use to get blue screens with pc and failures very often but that was because i always had crappy system specs ad yet ran high ed games..since i built my own powerful pc never had a blue scree since. but if you are rich have a business or nothing to do but listen to music..or just computer ignorant.yeah ill say buy a Mac.

Owner of a Windows Vista laptop (for a year almost) who must use the internet on a daily basis, and everything seems to be in tip top shape. The only time my laptop fucked up on me was on behalf of my own foolery which may I add had nothing to do with the hardware etc. srsly let the middle school girls stick w/ mac u guys.

1. NO. They do NOT make their own hardware. Intel, ATI, Asus, Nvidia, msi, etc does!
2. It's not shit. It's by far better then win xp when it comes to both perforamce and gaming.
3. PC fanboy? Well i like to choose what hardware i want. And what OS to run. I built my computer myself, and that allot cheaper then buying a mac, i would save houndreds of dollars even with the same specs. I can upgrade it with any type of ram, grpu, cpu, mainboard, etc i want. You can't do that on a mac.

If both pc and mac use hardware from different company's ,why dose it matter? And you can cutomize it! Look at the apple store. before you buy it, you can select how much GB you want it to have and what kind of video card. and after you buy it, you can take it apart and change it to! Yes. Vista is shit! It comes in six different versions! some stripped down to the point of being useless. One more annoying thing about windows is the fucking activation code! That shit is annoying!
