  • hey man are you playing it in the neck pickup sounds good....

  • Hey Man! Nice job! A long, long time ago, I played this Santana´s masterpeace too... ( and I also put it on you tube...) or tried to play rsrsrsrsrs... Big hug from Brasil.

  • great cover. what kind of amp do you have?

  • Can you please give me the tabs :)

  • Nice cover. Gives me hope, even if just for fun. I'll try to now thanks to you.

  • Thank you, if you need any help, tabs or whatever, give me a shout. Good luck, Paul.

  • @captstrang I would love the tabs for Samba pa ti

  • Wonderful rendition of this fine piece of music. I am currently working on this one myself.

  • @ericf37167 Thank you eric. Good luck with it, if you need any help, tabs, whatever, gimme a shout, thanks again, Paul.

  • hi capstrang this was sweet!! as all your covers :D! could please find some time to play stairway to heaven solo on your pacifica 112v? i got this guitar and i've already finish the song except for the solo, it would be nice...

thanks my friend and keep up the good work.......

  • Thanks a lot for the kind words invcdo, glad you enjoyed it. I did once 'learn' the stairway solo but as I recall the timing of the repetitive lick at the 12th position was a nightmare for me to get right. I probably got distracted by some other piece and lost interest. I do have some decent tabs of it somewhere though if you want a copy, let me know, and good luck with it. Thanks again, Paul.

  • @captstrang don't worry already have it :D, i want to try samba pa ti as well, i have a vox vt15 which it is something like the fender super champ, what effects are you using? are they all from the amp or are you using some pedal too?, if i'm not wrong i can hear a very very slighty distortion and some delay...that tone is awesome

  • Yeah, that's right, overdrive, delay and reverb, all from the amp, no pedals. I would say that unless you're trying to exactly emulate Santana's tone, this is a good song to experiment with regarding tone. It's such a good piece of music that lots of tonal ideas work well I think. Good luck and thanks for the encouragement. Paul.

  • Very well !

    congratz man.

  • Thanks ROXINHO.

  • Really a most impressive version of one of my favorite songs. You've inspired me to learn this and I'm getting a lot out of watching (and listening) to your playing. On a slightly different note, my wife thinks you're cute When I'm playing this she'll often yell from the other room, "hey are you playing that cute guy's song" and when I say yes she'll come in for a peek :-)

Do you mind if I ask the source of the tab you used to learn it. Your version is preferable to the ones I've found. TY

  • Thanks very much ghostwaverider. I'm really glad you're getting some enjoyment out of my playing. As for the tabs, I mostly used a combination of two sets, playing different parts from each one, whichever was most comfortable for me to play. I have emailed both versions to the email address on your youtube homepage. Hope it helps. And tell your wife 'thanks a lot', she made my day, lol. Paul.

  • Are you really playing?

  • lol, yes I'm really playing.

  • @captstrang It's excelent, my friend. It's like listening to Carlos Santana playing the song.

  • Thanks a lot ealiagac. Some days it feels like playing guitar is the only thing I do that makes me feel anywhere near alright. Your kind words meant a lot to me today, thanks again. Paul.

  • Cool !

Have you ever attempted Europa ?

  • Thanks Wolf, no I did have a little dilly-dally with it, it's a great tune and hope to attempt it one day but decided to learn Flor d'luna instead.

  • have you changed anything on your guitar?

  • @elomerid Not really, just took the whammy bar off and did a set up (truss rod, string height and intonation)

  • Hi great sound !

Please can you specify the presets for the XD and the Pacifica for Samba Pa Ti ?

Sorry for my poor English i am a French old man

    Have a nice day

  • @MrGB27 Thanks a lot MrGB. "I am a french old man" - lol, nice one.

For some reason it wont let me post the settings here so I have emailed them to you.

  • Thanks, that's very kind of you

  • oops, sorry TheFATutorials, I removed your comment by accident.

  • hi, your sound is very very nice!!

  • Thanks a lot Guitarmaster. Yamaha pacifica 112v and Fender Super Champ XD.

  • Beautiful sounds !

  • Thanks for the kind words

  • Very !!Very!! Impressive!!! You nailed it, thanks so much for sharing this with us.

  • Thanks a lot, I'm glad you enjoyed it Don, it took a LOT of practice, these things dont come easy to me but i fell in love with this tune the first time i heard it and told myself "one day i will, one day". You're quite a player yourself, loved serenity, you should post more. Thanks again

  • Does this guitar go out of tune fast I mean does it have tuning stability for tremolo and that stuff? and do you recommend it as my first guitar? and what do you think of the roland cube 20x amp? thanks :)

  • I don't know anyhting about the amp you mention, but I would definately recomend the pacifica 112v, it's a really good guitar, imo theres nothing better for the money, good luck.

  • yeah its tone here in this video is just awesome. I'm really loving it and i'm gonna get one of those thanks :)

  • yeah the guitar is fantastic, no hesitation in recomending it. That said, the tone you hear here has more to do with the amp settings on the super champ XD

  • yeah sure and thanks :)

  • what's the amp you're using?

  • A fender super champ XD.

  • hi do i know if my yamaha pacifica is the 112v model and not the 012 model??

  • The 112v has an alder body, the 012 has an agathis body, which might not help you if its painted. As far as i'm aware yamaha hasn't made an 012 with the newer smaller scratchplate, like the one i'm playing. I reckon the best way to tell is to email yamaha with the serial number of your guitar and ask them. Anyone else know a better way to tell ?

  • Carlos would be impressed!

  • Wow! praise indeed. thanks for that booch

  • Hi nice one mate, the guitar sounds better than the other version, thanks for subscribing,The Zimma

  • Thanks zimma. I recorded the sound with a £5 headset mic from the asda, then sync'd it to the video, instead of using the camera mic like the other vid. Yeah, i'm a real sound engineer now, lol.

  • Oh yes!!!!

    Very well played Capt

Lovely lovely tone, and great control.

    5* at least.

    SB

  • Thank you very much stratobiker, it means a lot from you, loved your version.
