  • Actually thomasbeck09 trinity has had many of their student s get first place

  • considered the birth place of progressive irish dance wat a load of nonsence they havent even got any of their students a 1st :L

  • they are great dancers, but there are so many. I would find it so weird to practice in a huge line... do they get alot of one on one time with teachers?

  • @irishfeislove Yes. We do get a lot of one on one attention. The lines are split into groups to work on more specific things thay have to work on and then the drill, move, whatever it is, is done until it is perfect. :) The teachers will also spend time after class to answer a lot of questions. Plus, even when running steps, it is usually never done in the large lines. Those are for drills. For running steps, it is two or three at a time max. ;)

  • @Aligetreel thats good because thats what we all need! I bet there is alot of teachers though

  • @RebiTitanic yes. There are a ton of teachers and then after the teacherss there are show captains, assistant show captains, and drillers. ;) And it's a rigorous process to get a position... so I haven't met one that hasn't been good yet!

  • Type PRIZE before youtube and hit enter

  • @aliBxxx Irish dance has many forms. There is the traditional and the progresive. We are not trying to remain "traditional". If you like that style, then stick to that and stop hating on an amazing form of dance that moves with the times instead of staying still.

  • @Newbitstatic i no what fugure dancing is .. i hvae entered many competitions in my life and the day cheerleading is incorperated into irish dancing is a sad day .. irish dancing is traditional to us y are ppl buting mordern shit in our tradtions

  • trinity is a good school in the mid west region...i got 3rd in western region last year

  • trinity dancers are fab, it just really annoys me the fact that the man doing the voice ovr is making out that trinity is the centre of the irish dance universe, because they really aren't.

once again i would like to stress that this is not about the school itsself, just the reporters attitude

  • @irishdog1000 An independent dance school is one that is only in one location and there are not multiples.

  • Wow, I love your steps! And the dance at the end was amazing! :)

  • great dancers

  • omg dancinbabii2kaii8 your so rite... oh and bk in the day ppl didnt wear there hair curlie for irish dancein its someting ye americans do... so duno wat ur shitin on bout wen ya dont even no wat goes on ova here ... and corned beef iv never eating it... and wats wit tat cheerleadin ting at the start... ur doin irish dancein nt cheerleadin...

  • @avrilxxxx6 no one can understand your net speak.

  • @irishdog1000 wat dont ya understand.. lik im talkin english

  • im sorry but wat was that . . what ever happened to the traditional irish dancing not this crappy show danc

  • @AliBxxxx That was Irish 'Figure' Dancing. It's a group catagory at big competitions, such as North American Championships and Worlds.

  • sorry for what i said i made a mistake iim sooooo sorry

  • They're amazing :D I wish I lived in Chicago now-if the dancers are amazing, than the same can probably be said for the teachers.

  • and the routine the lines was really off :(

  • thats not fair that they get luck in the champs... its like favortisims....

  • I Hate The Way American People Think They No Everything About Ireland. We Don't Wat Corn Beaf The Hole Time Wtf :L And What The Little Girl Said About Dancing After Church On Sundays Wtf Lol. Im Not Tryin To Be Mean Or Anything Now It Just Realy Annoys Me How Ye Think Ye Know Everything About Us Haha.

Im An Irish Dancer Myself And Yall Are Good Dancers Dont Get Me Wrong, But Yee Will Never Beat The Irish. Lol

  • i kno so true lol

  • I love seeing these kids dance. They are keeping the tradition alive in America and you can see from these kids that they are being taught very well. Irish dancing is not easy and you have to be very fit. I love these kids to bits.

  • Corned beef !! lol Im Irish and I dont see the connection. I cant remember the last time I ate corned beef. We certaintly dont see it as a tradition to eat it on St Pats day..lol

  • Simply amazing! Makes me want to dance.

  • i'm glad i don't compete w/ trinity i would have been wiped out :l i think they're amazing dancer sthough, i don't have anything against them. that's why i would have SO much trouble if i competed

  • I love it how they talk about Trinity having an influence on MF, cut to a scene from Riverdance and it's Pat Roddy??? Good Job. Trinity dancers are very impressive though.

  • ya MF always gave trinity credit in the program books from the riverdance shows and he has said that if it werent for Mark and Trinity there wouldve been no Riverdance

    i think its so funny

  • They have georgeous dresses and brilliant steps

  • wow i wish my school would do something like that ending dance

  • i love when the boy says 'it really takes alot more muscle than baseball or soccer'. i have a friend who plays soccer, and he is always putting me down cuz i irish dance. he says im doing i just because im lazy. i understand that every sport, whether its soccer or hockey or dancing, takes muscle and strength, but boy, would i LOVE to see my friend try and survive 5 minutes in my champion dance class

  • haha dido

  • It really seems like Trinity just mills these girls out like a factory. Don't get me wrong, I understand that they are world champs and have very sharp, clean choreography. I attend an independent dance school and it just feels like I get more personal one-on-one time with the instructors and other dancers. A very impressive dance, though!

  • @shamrocker88 What is an independent dance school? How does this compare?

  • And, this this "the dawn"? I love that choreography!

  • Trinity is such an amazign school....

  • these girls are great! my cousin is in that group!!:-)

  • gawd i wish i could go to that school

  • i love the proper irish dance costumes! they look so lovely together

  • wow, it's like an army of little kids lol. my friend danced for trinity, but i never imagined how BIG it was.

  • Trinity is one of the biggest and most famous Irish Dance Schools/ Dance troupes.

  • yeah, and that's only ONE of the locations. There's a more in Illinois and there's like 20 some locations in WI. I think we have over 2000 young dancers. :)

  • ondangerousground - why? They ended up with second in WORLDS. So I don't have a clue what you mean, especially when you don't explain it.

  • Because i'm a traditionalist and i don't care for the style at the end. It's nice that you've come second in the worlds. I used to dance at the worlds and placed pretty well as a kid too. The choreography just isn't my style, that's all. You don't have to be so defensive.

  • I'm sure that took alot of work and choreography. it is quite amazing. although i don't care for all of the swinging of the arms there's no need to call it "horrible"

  • Comment removed

  • Cowlover, the lovely thing about my opinions is that they're mine. I can think whatever I want about a dance. As I told Aligetreel, it's just not my style - I have been dancing for over 20 years, and I am a traditionalist. In my opinion, I don't like the arms. That isnt' to say that the dancing isn't lovely. I like old style.

  • whats the song 0.50-1.00 and 1.54 - 2.15 ? its awesome!

  • at 1:34 thats Jillian Oury, isnt it?! ahhhh shes amazing!!!

  • omg the ppl that theyr interviewin r freaks

  • At 2:34, i think i recignize the blue dress....... I think it's on Dance-Again. LOLZ my friend was about to buy it!

  • Cara !! i luv ya !! great job !! (:

  • im a irish dancer as well and these girls and boys are brillant! and its not girly to be a irish dancer when ur a boy cause i love to see boys dancing!

  • hey i go there! the people there are really amazing, but, you would not believe all the dirty looks i get when people find out im from trinity. its like, "what the hell is your problem". really ive never understood it. schools dont make one irish dancer different from the next, its pure talent that pushes all of us onward, not the origin.

  • Does anobody know the song they used for the choreography part?

  • The dance is called "The Dawn" and we call the song that too. It's purely through Trinity, so there's no way to get it on a CD or on itunes.

  • Oh, that's unfortunate. That song was so upbeat and awesome. =] Thanks anyways though, rock on Trinity!

  • is there any type of specil type of pomos that champions were ?

  • for the part when they did the choreography thingy

    ???

my team used that wen we danced at a giants game in san francisco!

  • my favourite trinity dance ever!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ive danced for 13 years now and ive traveled and competed all over the world and i would have to say that trinity is definately one of the best dance schools in the world. and its not because of the number of students rather the numbers are a result of reputation. Trinity has produced some of the best dancers for a long time now.

  • Trinity is huge... and at any dance school you are going to have world champions. The move dancers the more world champs. Its that simple.

  • not necessarily. you can have the most dancers in the world, but if you don't lead them in the right ways, they would never reach their full potential.

  • true true. but a lot also comes from the dancer. if they dont put the full time and effort into it... they aren't going to get any where. even if they have the best guidence.

  • ... and then the people who it was their first time going to worlds, they didnt place well. Idk, but w/e it just seemed weird cuz trinity got 1st even though they had HUGE mistakes.

  • i didn't even see them at the worlds lol but like they'res realy good teams go over i've seen them dance at normal feises like the keily walsh are brilll and the carey school too!

  • oh my god carey is AMAZiNG! i saw their senior team practicing and that made me go watch their competition. it was the best performance i had ever seen. but they got second and claudah got 1st. i think it should have been the other way around, they were both super good, but carey just gave you the chills they were so good!

  • that must have been the U13 team cuz the year the senior team went to worlds they got 1st and U13s got 2nd (2007) then in 08 U13s got 1st and there was no senior team

  • Wow I can't believe what people are saying. What ever happened to good sportmenship. A Congrats would be the right thing to say instead of bashing trinity for why they shouldn't have won. I don't go to trinity, but I would like to congradulate them for all of their hardwork. You did the United States proud.

  • I said that I was happy for them in my first comment.

  • personally, i dont want to be mean, but i dont really like trinity that much. I do compete against them in choreograpy and ceilis, so i do know that they are good at dancing. But what I do have to say is that even though they are good and have the reputation of being the best on the planet or w/e I can say that there probably are better dancers in the world, trinity is just the most known. We beat them and got 1st at regionals and we got 1st at nationals, so we know that we... continued...

  • yeah i agree like not being mean they are good but like there's way better schools in the world eg dotherty reid in belfast (yes gavin doherthy dresses) and mcgahan lees in england are realy good too but not saying that your school isn't good

  • yeah totally. but also i know that this might or might not be true, but when we were at worlds this year, trinity got first which i am happy for them, but i dont understand hw because you see, one of their wigs were almost falling off their head and they bumped into eachother twice! (only one was really noticable though) Personally I thought that the results were rigged. (not trying to be mean) also, it was really weird, the people who had already been to worlds got placed higher... continued...

  • and i'm jus sayin this based on what i think , anyone who is reading this ,i wasn't at the worlds to see them dance so i can't crtisize there dancing there or say anythin about it

  • to kellykins999 i must admit that doherty reid have the best soloists with THREE this year and FOUR in 2007 world champions! they are ranked top school. if megan ryan and codie sheils did as well in the alls as the worlds there would be a tie. trinity r good at teams!

  • trinity didnt send a team to nationals, so ya didnt beat em there.

  • You are correct. Arent they sending a team this year though since they didnt go to worlds? i might be mistaken, but thats just what i heard. im sorry about my comments, i didnt mean to make them rude, i was just trying to put my opinion out there. Sorry! (:

  • no. we dont go to worlds every year, just every 3 to 4.

  • btw, i love your school!

  • once again, one of my classmates has this tune! so if you cant find it anywhere, how does she have a copy?, we live in nys, no wheres near chicago.

  • Hey I really love this music!!!.... (and the dance! lol).... but does anyone know what the song is called???... do you think it is something I can find on iTunes?

Congrats on the win by the way... you guys deserve it!!

  • It's not something you can find on itunes because Trinity has a guy who helps make it up for us..

  • emily- we are just trying to let everyone know that its not ok to lie online and just say whatever you want to take credit for what other people do

  • START AT THE BOTTOM TO READ ALL THE WAY THROUGH

It's your love of irish dance that brought you here...not how many Worlds you have won or how many another school has won.

  • REMEMBER THAT THIS IS JUST A GREAT VIDEO TO SHOWCASE WHAT IRISH DANCING IS...IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT THE WIGS OR DRESSES. IT'S ABOUT OUR LOVE FOR DANCE AND SHARING THAT WITH THE WORLD. So, next time you feel like saying something rude about ANYONE or school in Irish Dance, think of the person that looks at this and has never heard of Irish Dance before and sees what you are saying to eachother. You guys should be embarassed for acting 4yrs. old. (continues)

  • lol i love you bix/phatorumpornchi

  • Everyone-take a look at yourselves. I came to watch a video highlighting our great artform and a great American school and all I found was people bitching. For all the people that are dissing Trinity-they are a great dance school. They are. Enough said. Yes, they have won a lot of World medals but that doesn't mean your school isn't great either. Everyone that is being rude in defending Trinity...be happy with what you have. I would die to be in a school like that...YOUR LUCKY!!!! (continues)

  • wow these girls are amazing, Lancy4life, if you are actually a good dancer, or even a good person, you would be able to appreciate other dancers for all the hard work they do, and not be so self-centered, you should really get a life, i'm sure they don't need you to tell them their horrible, when they are really quite good, they have amazing bycicles! LEARN HOW TO SPELL SCHOOL!!!!!!!

  • Lancy4life, how exactly do you know Trinity has won more golds than the other person's school? And how do you know you are the only school to have won multiple title's at Worlds?? Have you looked at World's results for the past thirty eight years and verified these things??

Give me a break, do some research before you go on a tangent about Trinity's team wins....

  • while i agree lancy is a liar, but no need to make a pointless negative post

  • i remember watching this last year. did they win? :)

  • Who on earth is the girl who is dancing her hornpipe about 1:32 - 1: 40?? She is so amazing I can't believe someone can dance like that! Of course they all are very very good but she was just unbelievable!

  • I agree. that's what the open girls look like at my dance school. isn't it truly amazing?

  • That's Jillian Oury. She just won the All Irelands.

  • Great job!! Nice choregraphy :) What is the name of the song?

  • the number is called the dawm

  • ya we have our own musician that does all of our music for us so we're different..along w/ our own wig our own socks our own shoes, our own style in general

  • ya we have our own musician that does all of our music for us so we're different..along w/ our own wig our own socks our own shoes, our own style in general

  • Hey, lancy4life, wanna hear some breaking news?

NOBODY GIVES A FLYING CRAP. Isn't it enough to dance for such a great school, without bringing your unneccessary bad sportsmanship and nasty, superiority complex-induced, show-offy attitude? Nobody likes you, and nobody cares for what you have to say if all you're going to do is brag about how amaaazing your school is. It would be amazing, if you didn't attend it.

  • i thought flatley danced for dennehey.

    guess i was misinformed.

  • Flatley has danced for Dennehey before.

  • aww wow, they are all amazing, would love to go to that school! good luck to them all !

  • YEA GO TRINITY!

    god we kick butt!!!

and yes, we did win worlds

    and we are the best!

  • *they kick butt

    *they won worlds

    nnnot you.

  • what are you talking about?

  • if someone belongs to the school, then they can say we, like a team. Trinity has three branches, solo, performance, and team. From teams as small as a three hand, to all of team trinity. So blueorbrit23 was saying we (all of Trinity) rocks. What's your problem with a little team spirit?

  • THANK YOU!!!

  • are we missing a post here or is this person randomly on their period?

  • so you are under 13? why does your profile talk about the u16 team from last year? What is the point of this post

  • So you're one of those dancers who talks a lot of crap; bend over and whatever comes out, comes out, right? Well, proper spelling is a good way to start if you're going to try and showcase your ability on the internet [are we still in middle school?]. Also, I doubt one person in this entire world cares whether or not you were on the winning team with an attitude like that. [a claim which seems less and less valid every time you type a borderline retarded word like in your last comment.]

  • And if you were, then just by typing these comments, you're showing that you aren't a real dancer. Nobody cares how many first places medals or trophies you or your school gets if you have that sort of attitude about it. If anyone should be swallowing their pride, it's you. Stroking your ego by putting down other schools and putting your own on a pedestal is not only unneccessary bad sportsmanship, but more showcasing your ability to be a rude, insecure bitch

  • Shutup lancy4life, you're giving your own school [Which is a very talented school aside from people like you being a part of it] and all irish dancers a terrible name. By the way, it's spelled "school", try attending once in a while and maybe you'll accidentally learn something.

  • shut up! stop boasting! it isn't the best in the world. stop acting like your someone really special all the time and trying to put everyone down! Nobody cares how many first places medals or trophies you or your school gets if you have that sort of attitude about it. i agree 100% 2 what rythm0fthereel sais and you're showing ur true colours to be a loudmouthed, rude bitch who loves to put everyone down.

but all forgotten if you take back your showoff post!

  • i know it's an amazing school but still we don't need stirring bitches putting everyone else down. please, i'll take back my coment if you take back yours!

  • im sorry but this comment is for everyone inthis string including lancy4life....

can we try to keep it nice

i mean were all irish dancers we all share a love for it so like seriously

just because one person (l4l) might brag and boast and what not doesnt mean everyone in the school is like that

yes i go to trinity and im proud of what we have accomplished but im also happy for mullane-healy-obrien who were supposedly 'rivals' w/ because from a dancers view they are amazing too

  • that wasnt even hat good of a run u should've seen them at worlds!!!!!!!! lol and our U16 got a standing ovation at the end i <3 u guys

  • did this team go to the mid tlantic oireachtas b/c i know some soloists from trinity went but i dont recall watching this team...and btw if they did go what age group

  • trinity goes to Mid American Oireachtas, not mid atlantic. :)

  • looks like fun but hard...

  • Yeah, our U16 Team (dancing the same dance seen at the end) took home the gold and the team that you saw won a second place.

  • did they actually win worlds?

  • Ahh I am in their sister school........that would be awesome to be on the today show.....great job!

  • thanks ali!
