@Uaatu - If the door swings out, then that means the hinges are exposed to the outside, which means your door can simply be taken off by someone outside your home, no tools required.

Here's a tip for these bars: Once its in place give the rubber piece that contacts the floor a few lite kicks with your foot. This will make it slide up a bit and fit tighter against the door knob. You can remove it the same way by kicking it to either side.

Just had a home invasion / burglary. The police recommended this. Also i tried to kick one of my doors (it was being replaced due to damage from the burglary) with this on there. Couldn't get it to budge after 6 or 8 kicks and using my shoulder. That being said always do anything you can to strengthen the door frame and the dead blot area.
