There's a book of Oxymorons? J/K. Good points made here. I just know that wherever drunkedness is mentioned in the bible, it's usually combined with gluttony. Does that mean we should not eat either? Whereas wine drinking does have positive and yes VERY negative references in the Bible the difference between Alchohol and marijuana smoking, which is drug use and comes from the word socery or pharmakeia, the latter only has negative refrences.there can be no moderation in it. hmm. I can see why the scriptures would say for high priest to not drink wine, for god says that wine is a mockery. In other words; We shouldn't look at wine so it can make us drunk. But 1 Timothy 3; 3 is very clear. Bishops aren't allowed to have ANY wine "not given to wine", and in verse 8; Deacons aren't allowed to have much wine, "not given to MUCH wine". It's obviously alcohol. The Bishop can't have ANY, and the deacons; NOT MUCH! Easy!

i see you enjoy creating a diet by following words of Jahweh, this is great. i believe the answers are in the scriptures as is the path of life that should be taken by all of us. when Jahweh, the enlightened one said "follow me", do you believe this to not only mean, follow behind him in his way of life, but he is telling us to follow him in the sense to become him. we all need to learn how to reach the highest level to become a light-being. each of us will be a light beam.

I agree with you... Your body is a temple. Wine and Cannabis are addictive. There are so many things wrong with these two things. Exercising helps relieve stress, and taking a shower afterwards helps to relax. People don't exercise enough!!! And when you exercise you should drink plenty of WATER. If you drink wine, it dehydrates the body.

Drinking a small glass of wine does not alter the mind. Heck if you want to get technical, sugar alters the mind. Abusing anything is when it becomes bad. Also there are plenty of acid forming foods that are healthy in small amounts.

I believe that the law requires drinking wine on occasion - Shabbat, Passover, Purim, and Sukkot specifically. Marijuana is never required by Biblical law.
Just cause something is mentioned in the scriptures doesn't mean it is condoned in the scriptures. People have to use there own natural God given judgement on whats right and wrong.
Wasn't Samson in the Bible told never to cut his hair or drink wine or any alcohol, as a Nazarene....? I don't know if those rules were meant for all to follow, but why were they mentioned for only a group called the Nazarenes?
I don't really care what the bible has to say about wine or marijuana. I think people have a right to put what ever they want into their own bodies as long as they do it in a responsible manner that does not impede or harm others. There are drugs harder then marijuana out there and for those... I just feel people need to be educated and know exactly what they are getting into before they do it. It's really as simple as that to me.
Marijuana is illegal, wine is not. I think Marijuana is sinful because it is illegal. I think wine is not good for us either, but it is legal and I do not think it is sinful in small amount and taken rarely but for a purpose. The only time in my life when I used it was after a car accident to lighten the pain before sleep. It was a small amount and a short period of time. But healthier than pain meds. NOW I understand oils so why use wine? Oils are better and The Word is Best!!

@HCGCoach The Scripture reference is found at Exodus 30:23 please refer to the Hebrew text to see the work Kanay-Bosim ( Cannabis ),.Right after Cinnamon (Kinnamon-bosim) in the anointing oil! Also look into Songs of Solomon 4:14, The real thing is that though we believe in YAH and His word. @lionsofisrael I strongly disagree with your translation, but even if it were accurate, note Ex 30:31-33 states: Upon man's flesh shall it not be poured ... whosoever putteth any of it upon a stranger, shall even be cut off from his people.
It was only to be used on ARTICLES (not people) belonging to the Tabernacle & priests. There is nothing in either verse, again, even if your cannabis translation were true, to encourage getting high. Stretching to justify an addiction, my brother?

the scripts say to drink within your own tent (against public drunkeness?) and I do believe "mary jane" is a herb you can eat (not to smoke because it's bad for the lungs. thc has health benefits but in what quantity and some say it is unhealthy) but the scripts also say follow the laws of the land and in this land it is illegal, right? I am still learning

I believe that the law requires drinking wine on occasion - Shabbat, Passover, Purim, and Sukkot specifically. Marijuana is never required by Biblical law.

Wasn't Samson in the Bible told never to cut his hair or drink wine or any alcohol, as a Nazarene....? I don't know if those rules were meant for all to follow, but why were they mentioned for only a group called the Nazarenes?

I don't really care what the bible has to say about wine or marijuana. I think people have a right to put what ever they want into their own bodies as long as they do it in a responsible manner that does not impede or harm others. There are drugs harder then marijuana out there and for those... I just feel people need to be educated and know exactly what they are getting into before they do it. It's really as simple as that to me.

Marijuana is illegal, wine is not. I think Marijuana is sinful because it is illegal. I think wine is not good for us either, but it is legal and I do not think it is sinful in small amount and taken rarely but for a purpose. The only time in my life when I used it was after a car accident to lighten the pain before sleep. It was a small amount and a short period of time. But healthier than pain meds. NOW I understand oils so why use wine? Oils are better and The Word is Best!!
