I have two teenage daughters for whom I have shopped thrift stores since they were born. They decided this school year they wanted to go to a mall (2.5 hours away is the closest one- I live in Wy!) and buy some new ones. Once we got there and they saw the prices they were stunned. They now appreciate their "expensive name brand" clothes even more knowing that their money stretches farther and they dress just as well as the other girls in their school!

@vlk40That's awesome! Thank you for sharing this with me :) I grew up going to yard sales and thrift stores with my mom. She taught me to stretch dollar. I never really told anyone where I got my clothing because sometimes kids can be really mean, but I always felt awesome in my "fancy" clothes no matter where I got them! I'm glad you are teaching your daughters how to be thrifty!! :)

I luv the spring/summer bag! I saw one on Catalina Island last summer while on vacation, hesitated in purchasing it due to the price ($40) (ouch!)....hmmmm.... and have not been able to find another since. The one I saw was sort of boxy/structured and really vintage....if only the price was right (lol)!

@SofiaAlejandra9 I did that not too long ago!!! I found a lot of my wardrobe looked like high school stuff still and I wanted a more mature look. I would keep a lot of your solid tees and invest in some good cardigans and blazers. You can find amazing deals on them at the Goodwill. Also staying away from trendy patterns is a good bet. I like to throw in pops if color with a scarf or jewelry :)

i went thrifting while in vacation with my mom we foun d the best thirft store ever it's in a college town so all name brand things and this town has outlet malls so i guess overstock goes to them and whatevers but i found amazing treasures
