  • In the ancient yoruba days there was nothing like best drummer, singer or hunter because it is a taboo to claim superiory. So what we had were great drummers, hunters and singers. So stop saying Rasaki is the best talkng drummer cos there can be som people far better than him in the villages but as I said we don't compete,

  • "dis modda has gone" with the nicest smile of the world, and by the way he brings all that music theory at the point. Look out, teachers! Dieser Mann ist beneidenswert.

  • ...even person wey no hear Yoruba go understand that drum. Kai!

  • Brilliant musician and what a wonderful spirit! His energy makes me soooo happy! Vive l'Afrique !!!!!! So much talent ...!

  • honestly, Rasaki Aladokun is simply the best talking drum player ever in the yoruba music industry. why? those who plays close to what he plays are people like Simioni who played for Ebenezer Obey, Maja Peters (Shina Peters cousin), Ayanlola, Ayan Bisi Adeleke among others. he´s simply the best because of his timing and accuracy, then plays to the musical key notes along sides with other instruments like guitars, keyboards etc. he made talking drum more greater than what it was...great master.

  • i love how he doesn't shade his nigerian accent.

    its too awesome.

if i had to have sunny ade at my wedding- do you know how much it would cost...?

rough estimate.. (i live in cali)

  • wow homeboy remembers when he joined KSA, darn I miss home and soo want drum lessons. I do like ARA too, where is she?

  • This guy is trying but so far the best talking drum player in Nigeria is Gbenga Adegbola in Ibadan

Ask anyone about Gbenga Adegbola in Ibadan you will be surprised when you hear him. I witnessed him the last time I travelled to Nigeria. If this guy plays, you will dance yourself until you pass out.

  • @etopedia in the West Indies it was Eitenne Wells Joseph May he R.I.P. great youruba musician i will follow in his footsteps

  • i know that accent.

it is one of the many yoruba accents....

  • I wonder how many times you smash that thing on your fingers as a beginner. Ouch! ^^

  • Eyin omode won yio, ewele!

  • @planetolusola ummmmm what did u say it sounds like something my dad used to play

  • who's the KNOBHEAD who asked"is he stoned"???NOT EVERY MUSICIAN OR BLACK MUSICIAN ESPECIALLY,HAS TO BE STONED TO PERFORM!!!thats so ignorant of you!!!!

  • he's very funny and cute and a great player. But why does the camera man keep doing those annoying extreme close ups???

  • Rasaki Aladokun single-handedly changed the orientation of Sunny Ade's music -- and of juju music in general -- from a guitar-based orchestra to a talking drum-driven one, from 1987, with "Let Them Say". Whether for good or ill I really am not able to say, frankly. He is the most accomplished drummer in the juju music tradition, but the new fuji drummers have gone well beyond him. His father was a famous magician and entertainer who used to tour Yorubaland with his acrobats & musicians.

  • Bad ass drummer. Probably the best in Nigeria.

  • yeah i love this guy, my favorite person.

i could imagine him getting angry, but if you ever

whitnessed such anger, you'd remember it for the

    rest of your life.

  • is he stoned?

  • i loooooove the way he talks... so calming and so full of sympathy and good energy...

and he's a great player, too!

  • he really looks like an interesting guy, It would be so cool to get to know him. ^^ I want to reincarnate as his drum :p

  • "oh i fear king i fear king" lol

  • wow, im impressed...

  • Good Job man. come to Chicago..please

  • When he says "i fear king" he really means we revere the king, more of a respect thing than fear...sometimes English is Inadequate

  • wo you know how to play.

  • Great job, man!!!
