@AssianNoXAss Floorball was made as a mix between the two sports bandy and icehockey, so youths in the schools could play a sport with sticks in the regular gymhalls. The sport took inspiration from both bandy and icehockey. Yes you can compare floorball and hockey. Here is some of the similarties between those:

You play with 5 outfield players and one goalkeeper who wears a mask, the players are divided in to strings 1,2,3 etc. both use sideboards and the same suspensions. Here is only a few...
