  • her floor routines make me happy

  • GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Don't forget to watch the video in 480p or you'll be missing out :D

  • This is epic, no one can out do this routine. She's so damn fierce. I think it will take a long time for another gymnasts to be this dynamic.

  • She's doing 2 whips to triple twist and a Gogean now...her difficulty will be up'd for Worlds.

  • She's using Alla Pugachova's "Ballet" !!! awesome routine !!! =D

  • I want her music!! What's the name!!!

  • Sorry, I don't know! I'll keep an eye out for you.

  • This routine is fucking beauuuutiful! Absolutely stunning, she's elegant beyond belief.

  • Do you have her music?

  • I wish I did, but I unfortunately do not! Sorry.

  • The middle part (0.48-1.17) is called "Nuclear" by the Deviations Project.

  • Do you have that song? I've been looking for it. And the non middle part music, what's its name? Thanks for your help.

  • What is her music ?

  • Very good !

  • This is what i call "ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS"... , Beautiful choreography... nice music, expression, good tumblings, simply wonderful. Bravo Ksenia Afanasyeva...

  • I can't believe people think Mattie Larsons new FX choreography is excellent...now this is EXCELLENT and the choreography is exquisite

  • @FLACSC74

but mattie larson's choreography IS excellent

  • I desperately need her music. I love it. Anyone?

  • The Russians' choreography is seriously beautiful this year.

  • It was seriously beautiful last year too! And the year before. I mean Pavlova's was a masterpiece, Semenova's and Kramarenko's were lovely, Klyukina's and Lozhechko's were enjoyable, so were Afanasyeva's and Pravdina's. You get the idea...

The Russians really do justice to the term "artistic gymnastics".

  • Interesting, almost the identical content as her teammate Semenova.

    - Piked full-in

    - 2.5 Punch Front Straight (Semenova did front 1/2)

    - 1.5 + front 1/1

    - Double piked

    - Double turn with turned out leg

    - Tour Jete 1/2 dance sequence

Afanasyeva did an additional double turn with leg up.

  • they have the same coach

Afanasyeva got the form, Semyonova got the consistency

  • Ahhh, didn't know that, neat!

I dunno about the comparison though. Afanasyeva has more power perhaps, but she has equally poor form on her piked full-in and she crosses her legs on the twisting passes like Semyonova.

But who cares, I'm so happy to see the Russians looking so strong after the Olympics, and with REAL floor routines too. I'm loving all this dance/choreography.

  • Afansyeva is capable of better tumbling though e.g. 2 1/2 - front full

    1 1/2 - rudi

She may upgrade later in the year, whereas that's full difficulty for Semenova.

  • Semenova is training a double layout.

  • 1½-front full carries the same difficulty as the 1½-Rudi (CC). I'd like to see her go for a 1½ twist through to a double tuck (C~D) instead. She could totally pull this off and it would raise her D score by quite a bit.

  • I think she ought to do this

turn the 2-1/2 front layout into a 2-1/2 front full

just do a double tuck for the third pass as the 1-1/2 wouldn't get any points for difficulty, only for connection because she already has 5 acro elements

  • I was thinking exactly the same thing as her 2nd pass (besides, she did it in Beijing and it looked beautiful)!

So let me get this right: 8 elements are counted; 5 acro, 3 dance (2 jumps, 1 spin)?

Her front layout after the 2½ twist didn't get any points for difficulty? Did it count only for the DB connection?

  • Right

and Afanasyeva's 2 spins got counted because she only did 1 high level leap, the tour jete 1/2

  • Thx! I still haven't figured out how to work the D score, but I guess that one of her spins is a C (360° with her leg in horizontal) and the other one's been upgraded to a D (spin in back attitude). And isn't she supposed to have a 2-jump combination?

  • a 1 1/2 through to a double does not get her connection bonus. The reason gymnasts choose to do a 1 1/2 through to a harder element is because it's a fair C element to add to their difficulty so they don't have to do that one extra dance element. it's like shawn johnson's side pass of a round off double twist. that sounds kind of confusing I hope that made sense

  • no one suggested a 1-1/2 through to double twist, they suggested 1-1/2 through to double tuck, which has been upgraded to a D in this code

  • no I didn't mean double twist. I was using the double twist as an example of a SIDE pass.

  • *o*

  • cool

  • Thanks!!!

I lo ve the style of this gymnast. She's so stylish but at the same time is so elegant.

And now she is second at the uropeans. Great job Ksenia!!!
