i've damaged my medial meniscus on my left knee..and i'm left footed..used to play football everyday..and how havent kicked a ball in over 10 months..MRI and keyhole surgery..only just recovering..the worst pain i've ever felt in my life and takes so long to bounce back from! Chin up.
i have had 3 surgeries on my knees. and it took me about 6 weeks of recovery time and then phyiscal therapy or rehab.. i am also a normal athlete to... best of luck to you.. keep me posted
This really isnt that funny. But i guess i shouldnt really comment if i dont think it's funny huh. Still, I'm going through a meniscus tear at a very young age and you dont know how much this injury has spoil my life... for who knows how long. Most sportive people get this. Once they get it... it's really hard to be the person you once were.
Whoever thinks this is funny should eat a fat juicy dick my grandma died from having a meniscus tear u inconsederate fuck so fuck all of u who think this is funny
after 4 operations i had to have my meniscus removed a year ago when i was only 15 due to a bad rugby tackle. I can never play contact sports again without the chance of crippling myself, and i'm garunteed to have arthritis before i'm 30. Some people don't realise how lucky they actually are!
@grifsam22 how long did it take you to heal granted that you heal as normally as everyone else? I just tore my ACL and my Meniscus and theyre talking surgery...I'm terrified as I'm a former athlete w ZERO trauma to my knees. What am I looking at as far as what to expect from the whole procedure...I hope youre back to "normal"
i fell in a hole in the yard. make sure you go easy on it after the surgery no matter what the doc tells you. I walked on mine right away and it caused it to swell real bad. it was the worst pain ever. just make sure to keep bending it and straightening it as much as you can so it doesnt stiffen up. good luck and be patient. mine feels fine now with no pain.
I tore mine and was able to play the basketball season because it was a small tear. The part that hurts the most is when fluid drips into the lateral part of your knee and a hardened cyst develops.
at the age of 12 your body is still growing and cartilage growth is still occuring therefore minor tears dont have the same impact as they do on older people.
First off I think its fake...Second off alot of people dont even notice it until a couple months later...Mine was reinjured at an intensive wrestling camp
yea a lot of people don't notice it the first time, but some do....like me, i tore mine playing basketball and just had the torn piece removed three weeks ago, although this still might be fake, idk
fuck nevermind, theres a second video to this....yea its fake....fuckin idiots making fun of people who this actually happens to, i hope you guys burn in hell for this :@
trust me, its fake, when i tore mine, i thought it was just growing pains, but then, it didnt go away after like a month, so i started wearing a brace during basketball, and then in like the 4th month, my dad pulled me out of basketball and took me to the hospital, and thats when i found out, and by then, i just needed to rest, luckily no surgery, the tear wasnt that bad
yes! i had arthroscopic sergury and a part of my meniscus is not real they transplanted a menicus from a cadaver... trust me that hurts relly bad...i'm only 14 and i can't move my leg right becase of that and u r just taking it as a joke...
well...I'm not taking it as serious because I could actually do stuff after a couple of days...I iced it ALOT...and when I say ALOT I mean 8-12 hours a day...I'd have it ellavated probably 6-8 hours a day too...I just got in such a habit that even when the doctor told me I could stop Ellavating it I still would...and also mine wasn't as bad (from your description) as yours was...because they just took the bad part out (I'll probably regret that 10-15 years down the road)
I tore it during a wrestling match (I actually have the video and of thinking of putting it on here lol) I took probably 3 weeks off before coming back because we didn't get it looked at, then I went to the hardest wrestling camp in the nation...where once again I hurt it, the doctor still wouldn't give us an MRI then after that I hurt it again just from a simply cut back...finally he would let us get an MRI. And yeah I'm 14 too, not a great way to start out your highschool sports career.
i broke my meniscus from a fall from the stairs... well at least you can move your leg and do your favorite sports i can't.
i used to play soccer in my school team and used to surf in a local team but now i can't becuase of that accident and all that the doctors say is that i'm not going to be able to move my leg like i used to... let me tell u that u r really lucky.. jejeje, i'm sorry for telling u that u were taking it as a joke... jejeje =D* jessy
Well...your obviously wrong...cause first off your 12 so you have a strike against you just for that, 2. Yes a meniscus tear can be a 9 month recov. time but thats only if your rehabing instead of surgery...this is because theres little blood flow to the meniscus making it harder to rehab...With surgery they normally take it out (depending where the tear is) and you should be back after a month or month and a half
