WOW...my mind is blown...the way you finished the cube at the end!!! hahaha
I love your videos! I've watched about ten of them so far and I don't even have my cube with me. (I started 'cubing' yesterday and have solved one side and the corresponding edges and corners so far.) I can't wait to put this info to use!
Do you think it will be possible to get fast at cubing if I have nerve damage in my left hand (loss 1/3 of the use)? I am righty...do I need the left hand as much as the right?
For that last case, I don't really spot myself doing it much anymore, but I used to use f R' f'. The regrip is really awkward and slow, so I don't use it anymore. At least I think I don't. I might for like the last pair because I can't track pieces through it to save my life.
Badmephisto, you are the man. I know this is an old one, but hadn't seen this video before. You continue to kick ass, thanx for the tips! Very helpful.
Another great video. Glad you posted it. I like the first two, because they always seem to come up and i am always "throwing" the corner up to work on it. 5 stars. Keep it up! Your a great teacher!

slow down jack.. can't see what your doing when you are hot shotting it. If you turned it slow, you might teach a beginner something. I will look for another video i guess
I use (rUR'U)r'R for the first awkward F2L case, notice the first part is the RUR'U' trigger but a small r at the beginning, and if you want instead of doing r'R you can do M with the index finger :)
Hey badmephisto, did you come up with the rotationless insertion? The first one is a lot faster than what I would normally do, which would be d(R'UR). I don't know why but d moves are really awkward to execute for me and slows me down. Anyway If you got this of another website, can shed some light on where you got it? I could really use some more of these tips.
For that last part: The quickest way to insert the F2L pair without re-gripping would be to move the bottom two layer's ( d or d' ) and with that one move you can then easily insert the pair.
yes that can be done as well, but it involves a cube rotation. The whole point in the ones I was showing here is to avoid those. Maybe its not as fast, or maybe it is. You decide :)
Can you provide some links to where you found the second set of tricks. The one to minimize cube rotations. These two are awesome I wanna see if there are anymore. Thanks!
Why not make a video helping on solving 4 x 4 or 5 x 5 Cubes? Most i have found to help on those are really confusing... whereas you are THE BEST explainer around youtube who i have met... so if you need ideas... teach us how to solve 4 x 4 or 5 x 5 cubes and how to improve our speeds on solving them :P Thanks :D
well it may be quite confusing for those people who don't know how to solve a 4x4 because solving a 4x4 is totally different from 3x3 (except the last step of 4x4)but once you know how to solve 4x4 , you won't get confuse easily in solving a 5x5
I'd just like to point out a helpful tip for everyone. After performing BUB', this can be solved easily using only a grip change. Grip the cube with both thumbs on the bottom back of the cube and your two middle fingers on the upper back of the cube then performing a fR'f' using your index fingers for the f and f' moves. Let me know if you have any questions or comments =)
Thanks again, it's sad that you're running out of topics to make tutorials about, but this is definitely something that someone(s) can master and hopefully aid in reducing cube rotations.
Nice tutorial again. the first part helps beginners a lot with intuitive f2l I think and the second part is really nice also, but for the first case, I would set up F' U' F U and then solve with r U R' U' M or R r' for M it is fast too and you don't have to regrip for the l.
I like the second case but I don't know if I will get used to it or learn the 3 move solution from the annotation which seems great too.
nice vid - just rmeember every1 - it is NOT fast finger turns for fast times - it is look ahead =) especially if ur trying to get faster. yes i know nakaji does fast tps - but trust me on this =D
Thanks again. I already knew about the corner liberation tricks, but those insert tricks were pretty cool.
I realise you've already done a couple, but I would like to see a few more one step stop solves, they are really helpful now that im edging towards the 20 second region.
Nice tricks! Should help me speed up my F2l. Still learning all the OLL's but I haven't got enough time on my hands to learn regulary so I just learn one when I can.
even though doing F's in middle of F2L seems a little cumbersome. I can't seem to do it faster than just doing the cube rotation. pretty cool still though
I hate when you have the corner but the edge is down below and you have to waste moves to get it up top. How do I fix this?

for case no 2 i just do (U R' F R F' R' F R F')

at 4:00 you can insert that pair much more easier with just three moves f R' f'

correct me if I'm wrong but i think at 3:01 it should have been l2 R U' R' U l'
anyways, I still think you're the best EVER!!!!!! THANKS SOOOO MUCH!!!!

So at 1:57 can't you just do a U2 L' U' L?
crazymexicandope 1 year ago
for the case at 2:35 (you place the pair in front of you) and do the algorithm:
r U R' U' M
and for the case at 3:45 (you put the pair in the back) and do the algorithm:
r' U' R U M'

for the second case (where the f2l has to be inserted at the back).
keep the pair at the back, and do this alg:
r' U' R U M
if the pair has to be inserted to the left, just do the mirror of this alg....

M is like doing an R move, but the its the middle slice
uNamed2lyfe 1 year ago
@uNamed2lyfe The last move should be a M' but i always mix up these two as well ;)
But yeah, that's the algorithm i'm using too and it's a lot faster (at least for me).
limdaepl 1 year ago
@limdaepl M follows the L right?

@uNamed2lyfe: Exactly, that's why the algorithm ends with M':

I have another algorithm for the 2nd case..
the one with the bottom..
Again. from the original position
(U F' U' F U F' U F)
I think this one is better because you don't need any re-grips if you
In addition, this is a "trigger" algorithm
