It rushes into range of the enemy fighters/bombers fires its missiles using out of sight lock on then it pulls away before it is spotted and confirmed as a target to the enemy. Russian interceptors are the fastest (see MiG-25 Foxbat and compare with other fighters of its time)

I don't presume to know which side's planes are superior because I'm not a general, but I do know this: It's not clear-cut technology. Russian planes are simpler than American ones, because of the USSR's finantial difficulties, BUT, don't forget that Hurricanes beat BF-109s because of better pilots and unique tail section durability. Often it's the weird little quirks like that which determine who is best. Regardless, except for the F-14 and the SR-71, Russian planes are a heck of a lot sexier.

how did this video turn into a crazy debate about Mig-29's? Anyhow the f-15 has never been tested by a well-equipped opponent. Serbia's mig stable was a joke, as was Iraq's and all the other countries whose mig-29's have faced f-15's. A truer test would be a US-russian war over eastern europe. Mig-31 is a great long-range BVR interceptor cause it's cheap and fast. USAF always tries and fails to build figher-interceptors, with f-22 the latest attempt. More planes in the sky is vital.
F-22 can brake well while turning to start an anchored fight. But once it's there it hasn't got the turning power to outfight the OVT su-3x's and mig-3x's. It could have, if its designers hadn't spent so much resources on stealth and high speed. That's what I mean by fighter-interceptor, a plane can't do both and multiroles are never best at any role. A PAK-fa will likely beat f22 in close combat, while mig-31 in long-range can either win or get away. usa should stick with f-15.

@seboldc2393 its not for dogfights, its ment for interception, so out of sight missile attacks. It rushes into range of the enemy fighters/bombers fires its missiles using out of sight lock on then it pulls away before it is spotted and confirmed as a target to the enemy. Russian interceptors are the fastest (see MiG-25 Foxbat and compare with other fighters of its time)

I don't presume to know which side's planes are superior because I'm not a general, but I do know this: It's not clear-cut technology. Russian planes are simpler than American ones, because of the USSR's finantial difficulties, BUT, don't forget that Hurricanes beat BF-109s because of better pilots and unique tail section durability. Often it's the weird little quirks like that which determine who is best. Regardless, except for the F-14 and the SR-71, Russian planes are a heck of a lot sexier.

Migs of course managed to reach quickly those "bombers-groups",but instead of "fighting",they were "fought" by Sukhois,that never were Locked by mig-31 weapons (thanks to supermaneuvrability),and at last won the dogfights. It's upgraded. They putted a new radar will ever higher performance and applied some level of RAM on the aircraft. Also it will be equiped with KS-172 ultra long range AAM(Anti AWACS missile) . The primary role for this aircraft is to destroy bombers , awacs and refueling airial tankers.

how did this video turn into a crazy debate about Mig-29's? Anyhow the f-15 has never been tested by a well-equipped opponent. Serbia's mig stable was a joke, as was Iraq's and all the other countries whose mig-29's have faced f-15's. A truer test would be a US-russian war over eastern europe. Mig-31 is a great long-range BVR interceptor cause it's cheap and fast. USAF always tries and fails to build figher-interceptors, with f-22 the latest attempt. More planes in the sky is vital.

F-22 can brake well while turning to start an anchored fight. But once it's there it hasn't got the turning power to outfight the OVT su-3x's and mig-3x's. It could have, if its designers hadn't spent so much resources on stealth and high speed. That's what I mean by fighter-interceptor, a plane can't do both and multiroles are never best at any role. A PAK-fa will likely beat f22 in close combat, while mig-31 in long-range can either win or get away. usa should stick with f-15.

serbian mig-29A is incapable to use their R-27R
and that is main reason ,why mig-29 is shot down!!!

you say the balckbird sucks, im not gonna even say why ur comparin a recon supersonic spyplane to a long range interceptor, but maybe its the fact that 4000 attempts to shoot the bird down by the soviet union, not one missile reached its target, all the that the plane had to do was simply accelerate, stop comparing the blackbird to mig-31 compare the bird compare it to the russian equivalent

You cant Mig-31 is A Complete BVR fighter Beyond Visual Range Its High Fast And very Capable of Fighting with F-15 at BVR distance.America Based its New Radars on Mig-31 Foxhound Phassed Array Radar systems however the Mig-31 is No dog fighter.
