In the year of our lord talos, 4E 200, patriots of Skyrim starving and outnumbered charge the fields of Haafingar. They fought like bards.. they fought like Nords... and won their freedom.
This movie will forever break my heart. It's amazing what true heros have done for freedom, and are still doing. And so many will never understand all they sacrifice. Blessed be to all true heros past, present, and future.
Life is not always life if you follow the rules of others invented. Try anything new and live free, otherwise this life is not worth living. So i am enemy of the government, So fucking what.. :D
I can't help it, but this movie and this music always bring a tear to my eye. Something very special about it. I don't have it with any other movie/soundtrack. It's a very powerful combination I guess.
This soundtrack is incredibly beautiful...I remember the first time i heard it...It made me so emotional just listening to it, and i didn't really understand it at the time cause i was 12, and it was the first time a piece of music was able to move me...
Since then I've never forgotten this, and it's enabled my love for instrumental music....It's def in my top 5 soundtracks of all time <33
I am an Irishmen. I remember I had this movie on one night and fell asleep (after 40 x's) and in my dreams all I saw were those who I had lost and those in my family that made me proud to be who I am today! This music takes you into another world of sorts, of memories and triumph!
As humans we are moved by music and i dont know about you but this is the sound of emotion every bad and good memory in my life all in one! BEAUTIFUL!
Hi, I think scotland as the most beautiful land on earth ...... but I've never been there .......... my hobby is falconry and pickle because I would sometimes like to turn the coastal wild rabbits. .....gallinarium1@web.de
"In the year of 2011, rebels of Libya, starving and outnumbered, charged at the streets of Tripoli. They fought with bravery in their hearts, they fought for their families, and eventually... won their freedom"
I closed my eyes and listened to this music, and it's as if I'm being swept away by the carrying wind... Through the clouds... Over the blue seas... and into Scotland, where it delicately smells of Thistles. I could feel a gentle breeze in my face as I'm being swept away.
This film may suffer in terms of respect. What with the recent news about Mel Gibson. But whatever its still a great film. Besides Patrick McGoohan stole the show as King Edward in my opinion anyway, may he RIP. The Prisoner was also awesome.
blood wise im classed as a mongrel, lol .a bit of all,my grandfather was true scot, and everytime i watch this film and music .i av to hide tears from the kids
Thanks for uploading this. One of James Horner's best soundtracks to one of the best films of all time. The combination of the story, the music and the camera work made it an enjoyable experience that I have passed many a Sunday afternoon with.
There is definitely something legendary and mystical about Scotland. My grandpa was full blooded. He was Korean War veteran and a proud man. He had an indomitable spirit and didn't seem to fear much. Even all the way up until he passed, he accepted his fate and died with dignity. He was a brave man, like most passionate Scots.
I have much respect for the Scottish culture and I am proud that I can call myself part Scottish
@MOTHMAN225 Agreed, this is Horner's finest work in my opinion, alongside Titanic, Aliens, Krull etc... So beautiful... Such a travesty he didn't win the Oscar for Best Original Score that year.
@MOTHMAN225 It's probably one of the best, but check Willow's soundtrack, can't really decide which one is better, but if had to pick one probably would go for Wilow.
@SeanTagen now i read that i can see why you questioned me lol. i like the scene becuase it is likely one of the most tradjic heartbreaking tear jerking moments of any film ever, to be able to inspire that much emotion in it's aduence for any film, i think is a bloody good achivement

It was the most heart breaking ending to any film I've ever seen.....or story I've ever heard. Some might say he lost the war,but won the battle...Some will say he lost the battle but won the war. In reality, he lost his life, but won the battle, and ultimately won the war... He took the lot....but he fought for it...and he earned it.
"In the year of our lord, 1314, patriots of Scotland, starving and outnumbered, charged the fields of Barrackburn. They fought like warrior poets, they fought like Scotsmen, and won their freedom..."
Quite possibly. I've lost track of how many times I've seen this movie, and it still has me in tears every time. It really is a masterpiece and the music accompanying it is just magnificent. A definite must watch in my opinion.
