as much as i wish that would be true, most likely it wont be happening. as of megaman x6, capcom seems to have dropped all continuity for the story arch. havent you noticed all the focus shifting to Axel and whipping out more pointless sequels rather than focussing on putting effort into a storyline? Once i saw "nightmare zero" i knew the whole "Wily Built Zero" plot was just going to be dropped/ignored. But I'm keeping hope. Maybe Capcom can pull what we've been waiting for out of the gutter.

However, the way things have been looking, they just up and dropped the story arch completely in favor of stuffing in new characters and pretending it never happened. But I'm still hopeful they have SOME sort of tie-in to the x series, rather than leaving it up to us to dream about it...If this is supposed to be a direct sequel to megaman 8, why does it seem like this one will have NOTHING to do with it..

And how do you know Zero didnt kill off all the original characters? Its the theory that makes the most sense, and there is more evidence FOR that theory than there is against it. Zero is found in a 100 year old ABANDONED Labratory (wilys) and it seems no one knows who megaman is or that X looks just like him. The world knows him only as X, not as MEGAMAN X.

They can completely redeem themselves in the eyes of the fan base if they just TELL US what happened in the time between megaman 8, and what happens in the future. Why was Zero built? Mega Man 8 was 1998. Mega Man & Bass (which is sort of like Mega Man 8 and a half) was released on the GB Advance in 2002.

I heard it'll be released in late September of 2008, but I doubt it, or else, it would be more well known by now.

actually Megaman and Base was originally released in japan for the Super Famicom/Nintendo in 1998,a few short months right after megaman 8. the fact is,the super famicom version of Megaman and Bass never made it to the states but the GBA version however did.

there's a good reason why they made mega man 9 with 8 bit graphics and that answer is because they want to filter all the gamers who were spoiled with graphics and don't realize the core of a game is its gameplay, graphics can be decieving. Its like going to a movie and the entire movie is CGI effects. this will prove there's a lot more to a game than just great graphics. So many games release with good graphic, very few with great gameplay.

Not really, there are cutscenes that look like something off the N64(yet still 2D), but the 8-bit look was kept to provoke the happy memories and nostalgia that most had when playing the original Megaman games(other than smashing their controller out of rage when Gutsman killed them in 3 boulder slams)

But, if this is true. Then OMG! This is the long-awaited fan cry every Megaman fan has been waiting a decade for. The final chapter to Megaman 9, and hopefully completing the lineage between Classic and X series.
