I forgot to add... is there any group that is trying to work with apartment complexes to build community gardens? Or are people living there too temporarily for that to work? It might be something fun just for the apartment management/maintanance crew to mess around with such an idea to attract and retain tenants. I think most people would prefer to live in an apartment complex that had more of a sense of community rather then just a collection of strangers living in close proximity.
In the fields around where I live I've thrown lots of wildflower seeds that now bloom every year...well until they're paved over to build apartments and houses. :(
I'm a big fan of "guerilla gardening" i apartment complexes also encouraging my friends to plant herbs and other edible plants around the useless shrubs that populate most apartment complexes. Even better if you can work with the groundskeepers to grow edible foods.
My family and I just made some seed balls.
We're expecting 58 degree weather for the next 3 days
but below freezing weather after that.
Will these (morning glory) seeds survive the period of freezing?
