  • Reich is responsible for advising Clinton to sell off our industrial base to China. He's a globalist socialist. Go fuck yourself, douchebag.

  • Reich should put George Soros up there with the Koch brothers, when he talks about rich billionaires tampering with the system. It's a bipartisan problem, but partisan fucks seem to have a problem understanding that.

  • @meccaturbo At least Mr. Soros is well-motivated by considerations of public interest. Unfortunately, despite his means, in sheer dollars he is doubtlessly overwhelmed by plutocrats and oligarchs who evidently get their jollies from grinding "the 99%" into dust.

  • @shaneusary117 Public interest only means something if the person engaging in it actually does things that the public believes in, or that the public benefits from. Soros does neither - preferring instead to meddle and criticize, and offer nothing of value to anyone except some disillusionist "progressives" who think the only way out of debt is to spend your way out of it. Keynesian economics don't work, it's been proven time and time again.

  • ...but Ron Paul and others pointed it out to us loud and clear. "Wake Up!" they said "Your Democracy has been stolen!" That was more than 60 days ago. Where is the outrage? People don't want to believe it. They listen to the pols who say "Oh, no - see this wording means this ... etc etc " to hide the plain fact that you can now be thrown into a military stockade indefinitely without charge. You can even be executed without trial! A fat cop can spray mace in your face for the hell of it!

  • Thanks for the clear and reasoned voice. I am starting to understand that people who still don't see, are afraid to see. The latest criminal activity by government officials is so blatant that the chance that it just went unnoticed is nearly zero. I am, of course, speaking of the NDAA, which was done in as much secrecy and obfuscation as possible. Our President signed this illegal document at midnight on New Years Eve, to hide the evil doing. He covered his ass with signing statements.

  • Then remove political donations...job done...moving on...next subject

  • @abbottone

Who is going to voluntarily give up their own funding? That is the problem - the foxes are guarding the hen house. Nothing is simple in Washington DC.

  • be careful Bob or they will label you as a Conspiracy Theorist

  • Thank's Robert Reich, you make your point so eloquently. You are a true American patriot.

  • Kill the rich, eat their kids.

  • We need more people like Robert Reich in politics

  • Hillary/Robert Reich 2016 !

  • PACK IT IN WE ARE FUCKED!

  • Hey Bob they had the right to protest. But they did not have the right to occupy our spaces.

These occupiers were racists and rapists.

  • @MagicKirin MORON!!!

  • @GaryMacArthur

Typical OWS support can't make an argument

  • @MagicKirin You are just listening to the wrong folks.

  • @bbhihoney

Which folks would that be? I listen or read from 4 news papers, Fox News, ABC and NPR

    How broad minded are you?

  • Reich for Sect'y o State. God we need him now.

Or Sec of Interior. Just sign him on!

  • The very worst welfare program that America has or EVER has had is corporate welfare. HUNDREDS of BILLIONS of dollars of taxpayer dollars are handed out to large corporations every year in the form of special deductions, exemptions, incentives and free services. I worked for the sixth largest US corporation which paid NO TAXES AT ALL in the last four out of five years they were in business and that corp, ENRON CORP, bought the 2000 election for BUSH and BUSH aided them in crime.

  • Today laws are for the poor. When you are poor you have to respect the laws made by people who don't care about you. When you are rich you make the laws and you don't have to obey them. It is master and slave relation.

  • He is the real public nuisance... That some how free speech is camping out on Public property for weeks at a time. Block usage of areas from other citizens, creating a public health hazard. No this is a group of people who wish to impose their idea's without an vote on the issue through intimidation and treat of violence.

  • @nexusone1984 "group of people who wish to impose their idea's without an vote on the issue through intimidation and treat of violence.."

    ==

Whose intimidation and treat (threat?) of violence?

    Police or protesters?

  • @allgoo19 Protesters, sometimes intimidation or perceived threat of violence can come just from a group just being at a place watching people.

You have a group of people who, unlike average people who work everyday, spend weeks at a time on public property. Just the unclean looking people intimidate average people who would be using these area's from coming and create a perceived idea that violence could occur if they come to the area.

  • @nexusone1984 "Protesters.."

    ==

    That's interesting interpretation.

Is there any video that protesters beating up the policeman?

I can show you the whole bunch of the opposite.

    Show me.

  • @allgoo19 It's a fact that perception, becomes reality for people. While most OWS are innocent, the longer they stay the more that people who will use them for their own purposes not in the best interest of society.

I can point to the stories of Women raped by OWS people, and children molested. That good enough reason to remove them from public space.

Another point is if they had not resisted the order to leave, the police would have not used force.

  • @nexusone1984 "I can point to the stories of Women raped by OWS people, and children molested..."

    ==

    Ok, show me.

  • @allgoo19 Youtube does not allow me to post links in messages here.

All you need to do is google OWS protest rapes

  • @nexusone1984 "Youtube does not allow me to post links in messages here."

    ==

    Yes, you can.

Google, "Cops Beating People Up At Occupy Wall Street"

So, go ahead and post it.

  • @allgoo19 Are you a complete ignorant idiot? I don't need to google it. Unless your also illiterate could not read my post. I said the Police would have not had to use violence if the protesters had followed the order to leave peacefully. They caused violence to be used.

Fact is that conditions in these protest camps where become unhealthy and unsafe. So rapes or women in these camps is not enough to warrant the Government to have Police move in and remove them? in your view.

  • @nexusone1984 "I don't need to google it.."

    ==

You can post a page title, so I can google the page you are talking about.

    Go ahead, and post it.

    I'm waiting.

  • @allgoo19 if you don't like the Fox news clip on it. Here is NY post on it.

Found a way around the link ban, I think you can add the missing part.

    ".nypost.com/p/news/local/manhattan/zuccotti_park_big_top_ilBy4VfYIwDGt2I1rM33vL"

  • @nexusone1984 The article is not on the website anymore. Can you send me the correct address, I am interested in reading the article.

  • @Articdust1

    ABC news story on it

    "abcnews.go.com/US/sexual-assaults-occupy-wall-street-camps/story?id=14873014#.T0k9XKs61bQ"

    Huffington "post 2011/11/01/occupy-wall-street-security_n_1069597"

  • @allgoo19

New report on rapes at OWS

    "youtube.com/watch?v=ks0WCLZx5Eg"

  • @allgoo19 OWS was allow like all Americans to protest, at some point an extended protest is also kind of extortion. We will not leave our occupancy of this public space until our Demands are meet.

As for violence by Police, When OWS protesters ignore a request for leave peacefully, they caused the Police to revert to force. It was the OWS who would not leave, to have the Police use force to make them look like the bads guys. And have great photo op of Police having to use force.

  • @nexusone1984 "OWS was allow like all Americans.."

    ==

No video or article to show.

    Basically, you made it up.

    True or false?

  • @allgoo19 Boy your ignorant, you know that video or links can not be posted in message here. Video responses have to be posted above. I have presented the facts, just need to google it for news and video.

  • Screw you Reich... George Soros (main funder of Moveon, org) is just a guy who has America in his best interest.

  • On the contrary - Robert Reich is correct.

  • Robert Reich is an idiot.

  • Very True

  • You need to put this on a commercial on TV and not in the middle of the night... but that also takes money... what are we going to do about this folks?

  • @kerryrock1 Nonsense ignorant! Where did you get this 4 million dollars stuff??? The US Govt gave Obama a unique privilege different from you bushy Bush? Who told you axhole? How could you know about it??? By the way have you gone enough to college, at least to be a dropout? I advise you one thing: this is by no means your fault: it's your ignorant parents'! Get some books! Educate yourself! Take some opportunity to critically review your position and learn from others!

  • @LOBBY222333 I could not get the thumbs up button to work so I will just say I like your post.

  • THIS guy is the same guy who believes that governments should CONTINUE printing money from thin air to 'allegedly' eradicate national debts!

Real value comes from work BECAUSE work requires energy, so try printing 'energy'.......

The tool called money has no value as it is created by BANKS from thin air, (adding zero's on a computer screen)

  • money IS part of speech. Without money, a person/organization will have more difficulty getting its message across.

  • @CambridgeHeights How much did it cost you to get your message out just now?

  • @SmackontheWeb Very little; just had to pay a little for the utility bill to power my computer. Reaching mass audiences usually costs a lot more though. Just look at how much money presidential candidates like Ron Paul spend to get their message out.

  • @CambridgeHeights Exactly. And for "very little" 100,000+ people saw your message. Reaching mass audiences don't cost a forturne if you don't have to sell a message. If the message is true and right, it spreads itself.

  • @SmackontheWeb If you think 100,000+ saw my message, then you probably have very low intelligence. Reaching a mass audience usually costs a lot of money. Obama will spend 1 billion on his upcoming campaign. If you take away that money, he sinks like a stone. Same is true for any presidential candidate.

  • @CambridgeHeights It didn't take much intelligence to look at the view count on the video.

  • @SmackontheWeb That's right, but it takes a little more intelligence to realize that only a tiny fraction of those people actually read my comment, which is one out of 235.

  • @CambridgeHeights Takes even less intelligence to realize that 1 out of 235 is not too shabby with a potential audience of hundreds of millions. That's just a message in the comment section of a YouTube video. Imagine how many more you can get if your message is true and relevant and you put a bit more effort in to it.

  • Big money is killing America and it needs to stop.

  • @lecagot2 And if you were my employer and you fired me for financially supporting a social cause with which you do not agree, you'd lose your fat-cat bonus to the lawsuit, and of course I'd have to split the proceeds with my attorney, but the rest would certainly go to support the OWS movement. Sorry.

  • Obama christmas trip to hawaii 4 million tax payer dollars????? pelosi trip to the big island,(december 25) kailua kona, four seasons hotel, 10,000 dollars a night, now do you occupiers think they should pay there fair share? Lets see the clintons, obama, pelosi, barney frank, kennedys, get in line and start showing us how to redistribute the wealth?? " SHOW ME THE MONEY""

  • @kerryrock1 Good Point.

  • @kerryrock1 Who is your source? Rush the drug addict? Hannity the blathering fool? Maybe Beck the crybaby crazy? You're a fool, these asses are part of the 1%. Are you?

    LOL!

  • Comment removed

  • Do you think for a moment that you will see that money in your pocket? you are a fool. does this redistribution of wealth also apply to the obama? how about the clintons? the kennedys? michale moore? all those beautiful people in hollywood? Why have you not gone after obama? wall street funded his election? take the occupiers up to the clintons house!! take it to the white house and you might get my attention, hey how about obamas 4 million dollar christmas to hawaii. out of your pocket.

  • @kerryrock1 sorry i saw this so late. RIGHTEOUS!!!!!

  • @kerryrock1 Now you're just repeating yourself. Signs of insanity. Ha-ha!

  • obama must be stopped!!!

  • COMRADE, why is it that individuals such as yourself, and the obama have this this rhetoric that the evil" millionaires and billionaires are the enemy?" as long as the millionaires and billionaires aren't liberals (socialists) lets say what it is . When i was growing up this language that this individual uses is called communism. If you think for a moment that you are going to take over this country with your ideas i will tell you that there will be blood!!!!

  • @kerryrock1 The Occupy movement is nothing like Communism.

People think the Occupiers are calling for a damaging redistribution of wealth. The reality is that we are calling for a stop to it. The redistribution has been going on for a while, and it has been from the poor to the rich. It has been hapening by not increasing the lower class wages as fast as inflation.

It is to stop facism, which is when the elite/corporation have all the influence on the goverrment.

  • Robert Reich is the worst biggest douche bag. If occupiers would follow directions there wouldn't be a problem.

    Occupiers are scum.

  • RON PAUL 2012 !!!! Occupy and Tea Party Unite!!!

  • Our dollars have influence too. Tired of that corporation reaping havoc on the town and influencing the local politics? Stop shopping there and spend the money on our neighbor's business. Tired of the big bank creating fees and foreclosing the homes of our neighbors? Pull the money out and put it elsewhere. Tired of wars and rumors of war? Resolve a conflict, etc, etc. The list goes on and on. The Revolution starts from within!

  • enjoy the capitalism...

  • this moron loves big government!!!

  • romney care is more like the french health care maybe

  • Hooray! This is an excellent statement.

  • Reich is FOS. He never complained about big $ coming to DEMOCRATS.

Wall Street gave more money to ØBOWMAO's 2008 campaign than they EVER DONATED TO ANY CANDIDATE BEFORE.

Reich and his ilk never saw a money printing machine he never liked as long as they could hand out OUR TAX $ to THEIR VOTERS.

Little schmucks like him will DESTROY our economy because they don't believe in America, they don't believe in ANY capitalistic society and everyting they do is designed to further degrade the USA.

  • @mrktjobs you're a fuckin douche bag. Don't you have anything better to do than argue with an 18 year old on YouTube?

  • Corporations actually tend to be pro-business regulation. Small businesses are against it. Why? Because heavy regulation can be easier sustained and paid for by large corporations, whereas it cannot be sustained as easily by smaller businesses (aka competitors). Thus regulations serve to keep large corporations in power by blocking out competition. Do you think the insurance companies supported Obamacare because they had a sudden change of heart or something? WAKE UP FOLKS!

  • The problem is not the corporations in themselves, but the fact that corporations are in bed with government. Because of bailouts and various regulations, politics rather than people (markets) drive production, resulting in inequalities as those in control of the political system rather than consumers get unfair benefits. The problem is corporations using government to gain unequal advantages. The answer is not to give a different group advantages but to take them away.

  • COMMUNISTS RHETORIC

  • @androydync cont. Your constant harassment of the police and brinksmanship of your anarchy friends will cause the things you want some poor usefull idiot that you can hold up to the press and say this is what we were talking about comrades here is how the police attack us.

  • @androydnyc it does not take long in a google to find many references and news stories of weapons used by protesters from fire, paint balls, pipes in cardboard tubes, Kives hypodermic needles etc. The truth of the matter it is but the anarchy movement hidden inside of your ows movement that you help hide and provide cover for and sware that it does not exsist. the sad part is when it does fall apart and you have provoke the Kent State event you want how many will be hurt when you constant

  • Rather than trying to fix an inherently broken social system, shouldnt we be asking how this "Corruption" is even possible? Think about it; Governments can tax and subsidize as they please, meaning there is no real barrier between the state and markets, but doesnt that go both ways?

Suppression of peaceful dissent is VERY old, the U.S government locked up and attacked union protesters during the red scare as a matter of maintaining the profits of Oil Barons and Mine owners. Look Familiar?

  • Lets occupy our government with some AK-47's

  • Romney is better because Romney care is better than Obama care==Obama care is for wall st and Romney care helps people-wake up fools!

  • @dagwoodb omg you're delusional

  • @pimpintrae omg you're delusional and stupid-obamacare is helping wall st and created 100 new worthless bureaucracies--check out Webster tarpley on twitter or world crisis radio on gcnlive.com

  • @dagwoodb no no no, i know obamacare is fucked up, but defending romneycare as a better option is the delusional part. why do people always assume anti-republicans are obama supporters?

  • Big money took over our country 25 years ago. We see how entrenched corporations are. Controlling too many aspects of our lives. Thank you Robert Reich. You've proven yourself a man of integrity. Thank you.

  • Take it from a communist Zionist who used influence to get his cushy Government position and notoriety . He'll flip flop in a heartbeat when personally convenient. real zionist news dot com

  • Preach it, Robert. It's funny to switch between Fox, CNN and MSNBC when they are reporting on OWS. If there's a wacko or a slob to be found, Fox finds them. If there's an eloquent, thoughtful, clean cut protester, MSNBC finds them. CNN seems to bounce back and forth. However, Fox is the only network I've seen go out of its way to excuse unnecessary police violence.

  • @rcreative1

and MSNBC refuses to report on the rapes

  • Comment removed

  • the protestors are raping local governments and "occupying" polic officers time and resources. don't protest just because it's "cool and fun" to stick it to the establishment you aren't making a difference you lazy bums occupy a desk or a job it's your own fault you got the masters in liberal arts and can't find work in that field. try flipping burgers and work your up some other corporate ladder like the so called 1% did and earn your money

  • @JGtheDOG Complete nonsense. You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

Tell that to my brother with a masters in computer science and has to work at Best Buy, unable to pay his student loans. Tell that to my cousin whose programmer job was shipped to India. Tell that to my friend who worked hard for her Columbia MBA and now can't even get an entry level job.

Maybe you feel better relying on vicious, ignorant stereotypes instead of dealing with reality? Did Fox "News" teach you this?

  • @mrktjobs sorry you blindly follow the liberal biased media. your brother is a prime example of the college conspiracy. he has a masters in computer science and is working a temp job at Best Buy (oh REAL elite store) selling mousepads. maybe you feel better jumping on the "let's stick it to the man" bandwagon, but please stop brushing your teeth with michael moore's dick and get a FUCKING JOB

  • @JGtheDOG What makes dolts like you think that anyone who disagrees with your moronic statements doesn't have a job? Are you that idiotic? Are you truly so clueless?

FYI, I run a business. I employ 11 people. I suspect you don't know much about that type of thing. Do you?

You're a cliche, son. You're parroting what you've been told to think by your Fox "News" trainers. Are you going to be a "good dog" forever? Or are you going to get up off of your knees and demonstrate some self-respect?

  • @mrktjobs I checked out your channel dude and you contradict yourself. you complain about the ruling elites and then go on to boast about your higher status in society and I quote "I spend more on tips than you spend on everything". who sounds like the elitiest now? my Grandmother and grandfather are the democratic precinct camptains in my area, I was raised liberal. but this occupy crap is making liberals look bad

  • @JGtheDOG The only reason there is money spent by local governments on the Occupy movement are the insane measures taken by the police. People have the right the peaceably assemble and speak their grievances. There is no time limit on the First Amendment. It doesn't matter what the reason behind a protest is. We still have the right to do it. The tactics being used are made to try and scare people away from demonstrating with the idea that it is dangerous to do so.

  • @JGtheDOG I hope everyone is noticing just how out of it, and delusional this "DOG" guy (appropriate name, incidentally) truly is.

The poor, clueless kid has no rational argument, which explains the unhinged rage and the name calling. He's a little pathetic.

He clearly doesn't understand today's grim reality; MBA's who can't get a job. Highly skilled and experienced people with no job or prospects.

And, he actually thinks that the 1% "earned" their money! How naive can you get? LOL! ROFL!

  • @mrktjobs I hope everyone is noticing how a "ignorant kid" is getting under your skin. You could easily stop commenting and forget about it and go on believing whatever recycled communist ideals you believe in.

college is a scam. MBAs are meaningless. watch the college conspiracy or read forbes magazine when they talk about college being a great big panzi scheme designed to forever trap students in debt. their fault for not getting a job and deciding to go party for 6 years

  • OWS to me is about what is already written down. The Constitution, The Bill of Rights, the Civil Rights Act. American citizens have certain inalienable rights. They are Created equal to begin with.

Have you said The Pledge lately with hand on your heart? ... it ends with 'liberty, and justice, for all! We have to gather together, and become the nation we tell the rest of the world we are. The sign on the bottom of the Statue of Liberty has to mean something, or it needs to be taken down.

  • i occupied this video, and wasted my time. To all the people in the Northeast, have fun occupying indoors when winter comes.

  • CORPORATIONS ARE NOT PEOPLE!!!!

    sOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE!

  • Freedom of speech and the right to assembly is not the right to destroy public property and disrupt society...this is union style mob action

  • @anonamous365 A lot of the destruction to public property is being committed by the cops. You think spraying pepper spray wildly doesn't make a mess? what about the shattered windows and holes put in buildings from rubber bullets, and burns and chips taken out of walls from police throwing flash-bangs. Oakland PD even set dumpsters on fire after using them as barricades. Sure, some occupiers are littering with tissues and signs... but the police are doing REAL damage with REAL mob action

  • @fram4153

You’re disregarding cause and effect. When I was a kid I messed with police (it was fun).. you do things with a good idea knowing what the response will be. Locking arms and blocking walkways or bringing NYC traffic to a halt will have repercussions and this is what the demonstrators want.. they want the conflict for sympathy.. Because standing there with a sign for months does not accomplish anything and we would otherwise not be having this conversation.

  • @anonamous365 Did you even watch the video?

  • @anonamous365 I might be able to rationalize your position if these were animals we were talking about. But, these aren't animals, are they? They are highly trained police officers who KNOW better than this. I used to host seminars on safe schools, and we used to show how to break up protests like these. Cause and effect does not explain improper police procedure. It also does not explain dereliction of duty. The pepper spray was not needed and this goes beyond excessive force.

  • I am glad that some people can see the true even tho it is hard sometimes.

@FlaSamg there are so many things that could be accomplish if we just open our minds and not only our mouths.... I believe that the vast majority of us wants a compromise that will work in the benefit of all of us.

  • I love Reich.

But MoveOn can go fuck itself. Political parties are inherently corrupted. Get your filthy hands off our Revolution, assholes!

  • @L00kng I didn't see any endorsement for a political party in this vid. All I saw was the echoing of concerns that OWS has already stated. The only thing different is you have one of the most well-versed men alive delivering that message in a way that even those opposed to the movement can understand. I honestly don't see how that's a bad thing.

  • @fram4153 "I didn't see any endorsement for a political party in this vid"

probably because the political parties represent the 1%

and this message need to be repeated over and over until the sick bastard that control everything realize how vile they really are

  • Mr Reich I agree that peaceful protest is a right and free speach is part of the bases of our country. But your OWS people are neither peacful or respectful of others so that makes you disingenuous in your vidio clips. Your clips show protester lawfuly ordered to disperse then resisting police doing there job. You would do Paul Joseph Goebbels proud with your posting. Respectfuly John

  • @docthomp12 BS

all the violence has been instigated by LE.

  • @androydnyc Realy you belive that are you as foolish as you sound? when the students surrond the Law officers and tell them they are keeping them there. or perhaps the people that come with molotove coctails or rocks or bricks or pipes with small signs attached or other hidden weapons. you have been reading your own propaganda again havent you. so sad can you not admit the truth????????

  • @docthomp12 ah, no. kettling? done by LE rousting? done by LE "evacuating" parks? done by LE. leave #Occupy alone and will there be violence? unknown as they've been manipulated by LE from the beginning. where are those molotovs you babble about? non-existent. have you seen any news evidence of all this violence in the form of viddyes of bloodied LEOs? no. that's because there isn't any-- if you think that LE wouldn't use ANY such evidence to pull a Kent state then you are delusioinal
  • @docthomp12 ironically i'm pro-LEO, and am in contact with senior as well as junior NYPD-- and the consensus is that OWS is NOT a 'threat'-- other than to Wall St ideologies.

  • You omitted Soros and Buffet- interesting. Pointing a finger at Koch is a sad display of partisan warfare.

  • maybe we should do away with political contributions and do like they do in Europe. Give every person running the same amount of money. They can only spend that amount and no more.

  • Sounds good. What is this career politican up 2?

  • the second amendment is the only protection that the first amendment has----there is no free speech with a corrupt government---BLAME YOURSELF FOR PUTTING POLITICIANS IN POWER WHO SELL THERE VOTES----THERE ARE NO WINNERS---WE ALL LOSE

  • Any of you retards arguing republican/democrat are buying into exactly what the government wants. They are both out to screw us, dem. or rep. its all the same shit, and they are all corrupt.

  • @Gaius8666a Polls say differently. Even republicans are getting tired of republicans.

  • @Gaius8666a I am 48. I started joining local peaceful OWS demonstrations when the movement started and I was unemployed. A month ago, I finally got a job--a good engineering job, after working at it for a year and a half. Now I can only join them on weekends, but I can support them with my paycheck. College age doofus hipsters? I think not.

  • @boulderdsvo preach brother.

  • When we the people occupy our democracy, it will mean ALL big money out, Soros along with the Kochs. Unions along with corporations. And that is as it should be. Money is not people, corporations are not people. Living breathing loving laughing crying folks -- that's people. And we are the ones, all 100% of us, who should have equal voice, and equal access, and equal power in a democratic society.

  • stop this nuisance:

    google: occupied-amendment

  • Robert Reich is a big government liberal. It's his kind that have created the loopholes that GE and others jump through to avoid paying taxes. He is a shill for Goldman Sachs and has helped create the mess we find ourselves in. If he takes any deductions he's a hypocrite.

  • @truthforamerica: rather than throw out partisan arguments, tell us what you dispute about anything Mr. Reich has stated in this video?

  • If by christ like you mean rape and drug abuse in tents, sure... not sure what conservative politician would bring that either.

  • I didn't see Robert Reich out there defending the free speech of the Tea Party. Besides, all the Tea Party resulted in 0 arrests, no criminal acts, and they pay for their own rallies. The OWS scumbags are lazy, don't pay for their own rallies, costs cities millions, have almost 400 cited criminal acts, thousands of arrests. Liberals like Reich are in the so called 1% anyway. Who cares what these idiots march for. They should occupy a job.

  • @truthforamerica Yeah, there were 0 arrests at tea party rallies. Despite passionate screams for a violent and bloody revolution, armed protesters flaunting their weapons and fist fights with counter protesters.

WHy is that? Could it be that the billionaires that OWS are protesting against for hijacking our democracy also have thrown gobs of money into the tea party? Indeed!

  • @detoth67 You are an idiot. It is documented that unions and Soros funded groups are pumping a lot of money into OWS. Tea party groups pay for their own stuff in great part.

  • @truthforamerica You're absolutely wrong, but I very much doubt that's going to stop you for saying the same thing over and over again.

  • @truthforamerica Present your documents then.

  • @truthforamerica I'm involved in my local OWS groups, and I haven't seen any big money from unions and Soros. Heck, these people are begging for hot food and hand sanitizer. That claim is ridiculous.

  • It is no accident that many police, city attorneys, & judges have better pay, benefits, and a better retirement plan than most other Americans. It is a deliberate attempt to divide and separate them from normal Americans, and thus, make them more pliable to do the bidding of government, which unfortunately means, the bidding of major corporations.

  • @boballende We need to start taking authority away from these people because if the economy continues to falter and more Americans start to object, these government employees who perceive themselves to be privileged and elite are the ones that are going to protect the status quo, and a few thousands citizens are no match for police officers with batons, pepper spray, tasers, and weapons.

  • @timoburke: a friend who went to the beautiful, smiling Oakland Occupy march and then watched the few crazies on the TV wondered if the Tea Party suffered the same fate, if the racist wingnuts we see on TV are just scattered hangers-on. And a *lot* of liberals know Obama accepted and depends on vast amounts of corporate money. So why are good, honest, hard-working liberals and conservatives fighting with each other while we all get robbed? What do we agree on?

  • OOOpppps, seems as though Robert Reich is forgetting the "big money" and insider influence of The big Unions and powerful legal and medical guilds. I guess public sector unions who are bankrupting local governments and the federal government with insider contracts are "A-Ok". OOpppss, oh yeah, the labor unions are backing the "grass roots" Occupy movement. .

  • Exactly. If the Tea Party and OWS could put aside their grievances and band together we really could change this country.

  • I will not OCCUPY my Democracy by embracing Socialism, in any form. I will fight for my Democracy, my Democratic Republic in ALL FORMS, using every single method available to me, both legal and illegal. Res Ipsa Loquitor

  • @typingmonkey1 Democracy is a system of governance. Socialism is an economic system. The two aren't incompatible.

  • @typingmonkey1 Before you start shooting, how about doing us all a favor and take a government class at the local junior college?

  • "Real public nuisance is the tsunami of big money into politics" - Robert Reich, telling it plainly and truthfully.

  • And I suppose all this corruption started with Citizen's United ruling. No. This guy does not understand what Occupy is about and, like most narrow focused pundits, cannot speak for that movement. The ruling is a symptom, not a cause. And we don't have a Democracy in this country. Never did. But hope we will some day. Without big government.

  • @RPMDKM trenchant.

  • Yep. our gov sold us out and we are going down the tube. There are plenty of goons that will crack heads for some pocket change. Things are not looking good. I suspect the shit will hit the fan.

  • Idiot.... money has always ruled.

We are a Republic, not a Democracy.
