the Manga that the anime is based on is a must read.

The story continue well after the end of the anime, and there is also 4 volumes of "The Black Swordsman" before it returns to "the past" and tells the story of how Guts came to be a member of the Hawks, and a then sacrifice to demonic powers.

This probably one of the few animes where the protagonist is a tough bastard, tall, very muscular powerful fighter (who is human) unlike some main characters who are small and weak and when danger comes to them they sh*t themsleves which they either run away or someone saves them (only time when Guts was scared was when zodd transforms into demon-form), this is understandable because he has never seen a monster before but quickly resorts to fighting zodd.

It costs $15 and I'd be willing to pay $50/volume. Berserk is THE best anime I have ever seen and will ever see, but the manga makes the anime look mediocre. There are no more episodes and they will not make anymore. It was supposed to end when Griffith became one of the Godhand Femto but you'd have to read the manga to know what happens next. I thinks it's Vol. 13 of Berserk is where the Anime left off.

And on a side note, the PS2 game will never come to the US but there is a Berserk game for the SEGA DREAMCAST that you can find. I hope im helping anyone out there who needed any insight.

I don't think they are going to make anymore. If you want to know what happens next then you gotta read the manga. They made a berserk game based on what happens after the whole Band of the Hawks got killed, though the game is only for Japanese and it is not coming to the U.S.

What a shame no more series :(, here in the UK we only got one game on the dreamcast simply called gut's rage which i liked very much so. however, i wondered if there is some sort of mode that i can use for the PS2 Japanese version of berserk for subtitles, because i can get the game off the internet and run it on a chipped PS2 console but not the translation.
