Y'know what I don't really get about this scene? Big Boss doesn't look anything like Snake. Not only that but he doesn't sound remotely like Snake. I thought Snake was a clone of Big Boss? Therefore wouldn't they look and sound a little more similar than this? Just something I've always wondered ever since I first watched this scene.

They failed by casting someone other than hayter to do Big Boss's voice. The argument that age changes a voice is moot when Old Snake is prematurely aged as well. This guys base voice, speaking pattern, stresses, etc are completely inconsistent. Should have artificially modified hayter's voice to sound more fogee-like.

Certain things in the encyclopedia might be locked based on if you beat MGS4 or not (because of spoilers).

@513pablo I think it was sad but for happy reasons. Since he last saw Big Boss in 1999 Snake had been a prisoner of his own fate. Destined to fight and die never knowing happyness or peace and at the point where he is about to give up hope the impossible happens. The man who sentenced him to that fate comes back and sets him free, gives him his life back. He was the only one who was able to and god knows Snake desved it after all he had done.

@scythe0100 Maybe he realised Snake wasn't like him, that his lust for battle was genetic like a prison or a hopeless addiction and he was the only one who could set him free. Deep down Snake just wanted peace and after Big Boss realised what he had been through he gave him that peace. I think Big Boss was always fighting for something but Snake only saw himself as someone who was good at killing people and hated himself for it because that was his only purpose.

the endings of the 4 mgs are the best experiences i have lived in front of my tv, and not only with videogames

- first mgs ending amazed me with a new way to tell a story and i was only 12 years old when i saw grey fox die under rex´s foot. unforgetable

- mgs2 ending was so psychodelic and cyberpunk style that it was waaay cooler than matrix and i freackin loved the ninja soldiers. and the final battle with katanas on the federal hall roof (i hate they censored the arrival of arsenal gear )

(I had to argue with my MOM to buy it for me because of the "Mature Sexual Themes") This series is an experience, makes yous sad, happy, scared, excited, etc. Just an incredible work of art. I still remember Sniper Wolfs death. Betaing the torture test to save Meryl, the stealth upgrade, God I love this series Damn I might have to play all 4 straight over the next couple of months.
