  • In general the two observations are pretty accurate for the USA as a whole,

obviously some regions of the country more than others but most communities

have a noticeable number of churches and flags in front of various businesses

    and private homes.

  • This place is evil, you should've never

came to America. Go back while you still

    can

  • Texas is a heavy republican state so it is quite full of churches and flags, try some of the northeastern states.

  • Boy, if this isn't the truth. There are two things Americans are passionate about most: their country and their religion.

  • Oh! I'm from Mississippi and I want you to not be fooled by what you called the "poor" people. The average millionaire in the U.S. lives in a house that cost less than $200,000! My dad works for a man who has a business with a pay roll of $70,000 per month and lives in a double-wide trailer. In fact, nearly every millionaire in town lives in an old house or a small one!

  • HOW BOUT THEM HOGS MOTHA FUKAAA

  • them churches are shit

  • is he the guy of balls of steel??

    wanna bum lol

  • Why the hell would anyone, American or foreign go to Texarkana? I sure hope you were there on business or knew someone because there's no reason to go there otherwise! Isn't Ross Perot from there? Nuff said!

  • Pfft... I live in Texarkana. Nothing odd about the number of churches. There's probably more car lots or banks.

  • OMG!!!! why do we need all these car lots??? Friends from Dallas TX are going to come over here to by cars now!!! lol

  • in orem you can go anywhere woth out seeing a steeple

  • I live in texarkana!

my school is in the vid. aha

  • Your observation of all the churches would have meant more if you mentioned the population of both towns is just around 60,000. theres gotta be at least a hundred churches around here. Oh and theres plenty of schools here, they just all happen to be hidden in the ghetto. Also. I am an atheist, So imagine how uncomfortable you felt and multiply it by 26 years =/ The typical, ironic, response to an atheist in these parts is "So you worship the devil or something?" LoL

  • T-HIGH BIOTCH!

  • btw I liked the video

  • I live in Texarkana and I also noticed that there are too many churches, yet they build more... It's surprising you didn't come across any of the 3 other school systems. No lack of schools or funding just no need for an extra one. The people will build what the people want. I guess they just want easier access to God lol. Thankfully we let smarter people handle our tax and education and decisions or we might have even more useless buildings lying around.

  • Chicago is also a great city to visit :P

  • I live in Texarkana and I think this is hilarious!

  • interesting comments - but taking Texarkana as representative of the entire country... is questionable.

  • Thanks for your comments.

I must clarify that I was not taking what I saw as a representation of the USA entirely, just where I was. I do know that the deep south is very different to the coastal cities.

  • The flag thing is very true, but far more so of smaller-town and city America. They're not always on every bank/restaurant etc. in bigger cities.

  • I lived in Texarkana for 6 years and hated every minute of it! You should come to Houston, Texas we are the south but we are nothing like Texarkana! ;)

  • My oldest sister lives in Texarkana and I sure got a "Kick" out of your video....well done...God Bless you and yours.

    Sherrill in Oklahoma

  • liking you your music choices!

  • Lived there six years - there are no lack of schools, you just didn't see them. The big white building near the beginning with all the columns is Beech Street Baptist - I worked there. Hope you enjoy your stay. I noticed a lot of churches in London when I was there, too.

  • Yup, thats the bible belt.

  • hah! that is amusing.

  • hey! glad ya found it amusing ;) i do too!!!i was over in mildenhall a couple times, unfortunately i found nothing amusing ;( did love the countryside, great beer and great pubs!!!!!!!

  • I live in texarkana

and i'm still shocked of how many churchs we got here.

  • Texarkana has 4 school districts.

  • I wanted to see all the churches on the Texas side of State Line Ave, and all the liquor stores on the Arkansas side.

  • fuckin gringos.!!!

  • did you notice the lack of schools or reall the fact that if there are all thoose churches there must be a lot of people which means alot of students which should then mean alot of schools or a few huge school idk about that town but in mine just as many churches but only 2 not very big high schools very crowded and my town considered to have the best schools and yes we do compared to other towns ive been to its really disgusting how we value religion over education

  • uhm its kind of hilarious ur lack of pure...common sense, he was taking shots of churchs , and churchs only, its not like he was just shooting film on his entire strole threw the town... wow somone needs to wake the fuck up idiot, we dont take value of religion over education so stop providing firewood to anti religious based on ur backwards dumbass logic.

  • tube2a, I don't think he was being an idiot, nor was he critisizing what I had done. Yes, you're right that I was just pointing out the sheer number of churches in one town, but he is also right that I noticed a distinct lack of schools (I saw only one while I was there - the main high school). it is a deeply religious place (which made my position as a complete atheist a little more tricky!)...

  • ...It's just a fun little video I knocked up, and please do take everything said or shown in the video with a smile and a laugh. We're all friends here!

  • it's also just possible that there are more elderly - or at least, more adults over 18 than there are children there (which would explain the abundance of churches, but not schools for those under 18).

  • So true...I live in texarkana and their are to many churches and to many christians, I don't have a problem with christians, some of them are just too holy for their own good

  • Flags - powerful and continuing nationalism.

I'm scared of the vast amounts of flags and churches.

  • Oh yes, you are soo right about the amount of banks, but it was the drive-thru banking that shocked me the most! If we had those here in the UK, they would've been vandalised in about 10 minutes!

  • lol are u saying crime is worse in the UK? bcuz thats one of the few things better about the UK.. the lack of crime vs the USA..

  • No, I'm not saying that it's worse, but it is a fairly regular thing where ATMs are stolen from banks. Having it in the open and easy to get to would be just inviting the thieves to stroll right up there and take the thing!

Violent crime and murder is however much worse in the US than the UK.

  • The first two things I noticed when I moved here from up north were the churches and the BBQ joints. Where are the fish and chips and coney islands?? lol.

  • I live in texarkana. You took quite a tour here. Great coverage! What can I say... people like their independance here. Thus.. flags and churches. Texarkana is living the American dream. Lots of Pagans here too. They get along with their Christion brothers though. PEACE !

  • someone from texarkana gives a response ... and no response from you? strange, did you really care about getting to know people here? or did you come in wanting to find it "amusing"?

  • Or that I'm very busy! My girlfriend is a resident of Texarkana, so that's why I was there. I loved the place. But it was amusing (to me, from somewhere that doesn't have that sort of extreme religion or visible patriotism) to see this.

  • Sorry for the snarkiness. That came off badly and I apologize. And you are correct about it being amusing -- perhaps I've become too familiar with it (or jaded by it) so it seems like background noise to me. Best wishes to ya both :)

  • Maybe all the churches are here because we are called the "Bible Belt" for a reason. If you take time to know the people here, you will find "Southern Hospitality". I am sorry we are so "Amusing".

  • what is amusing?

  • I'm from Texarkana, and your observations are spot on true. (I don't own a flag and don't attend church, though.) Nice vid.

  • The veritable David Attenborough of the urban jungle. Love it! By the way... What happened to the snowman you promised you'd make? I have a deadline goddamit!

  • Good video - class choice of music - bring on some more :D

  • Nice one.

  • No video of the drive-through banks? :-)

  • That will be on it's way, if the quality of that video is okay.
