there is another video which is much clearer and much closer. it was done with a cellphone but you can clearly see the cop stand up, draw his weapon and shoot the guy who is NOT struggling. this bart "offiicial" should watch that video. it doesn't matter how "grainy" the video is. it's clear evidence of the cop shooting a suspect in the back who is handcuffed and laying face down. how could that possibly be justified?
I've seen all 3 videos and they all show the same thing. Grant resisted, didn't allow them to search and clear him of weapons, fought to get them off of him, jerked his left hand (which weren't cuffed until after the shooting), and went for his jacket. A 3rd officer saw the threat and tried to dive for it when the 1st officer retreated and fired a round into Grant. If he had a gun and his left hand came out shooting, how many people could he have killed before they reacted? More than 1?

This question comes to mind. Where was the officer's taser in reference to his weapon. Common police practice has been to place the taser on the duty belt opposite the weapon. If the weapon was located on the same side as the taser (which I doubt) then the shooting maybe an accident and the police department has some explaining to do. Vicarious liability rises it's head!! This officer career is over to say the least. I feel for the families - the young man and officer.

If a cop has to receive evaluation because he didn't know what weapon he was using, then doesn't need to be on the force. Anyone who still thinks he wasn't resisting, that he was handcuffed before he was shot, and that he didn't go for his unsearched jacket is in complete denial. Pay attention to the video. As soon as the officer went for his cuffs, Grant jerked his left hand away and towards his jacket, the officer retreated, a 3rd officer dove to contain his arm, then the 1st drew his weapon and fired. No one knew he was unarmed until AFTER the officer shot him. He wasn't cuffed until AFTER he stopped fighting

there is another video which is much clearer and much closer. it was done with a cellphone but you can clearly see the cop stand up, draw his weapon and shoot the guy who is NOT struggling. this bart "offiicial" should watch that video. it doesn't matter how "grainy" the video is. it's clear evidence of the cop shooting a suspect in the back who is handcuffed and laying face down. how could that possibly be justified?

I've seen all 3 videos and they all show the same thing. Grant resisted, didn't allow them to search and clear him of weapons, fought to get them off of him, jerked his left hand (which weren't cuffed until after the shooting), and went for his jacket. A 3rd officer saw the threat and tried to dive for it when the 1st officer retreated and fired a round into Grant. If he had a gun and his left hand came out shooting, how many people could he have killed before they reacted? More than 1?

This question comes to mind. Where was the officer's taser in reference to his weapon. Common police practice has been to place the taser on the duty belt opposite the weapon. If the weapon was located on the same side as the taser (which I doubt) then the shooting maybe an accident and the police department has some explaining to do. Vicarious liability rises it's head!! This officer career is over to say the least. I feel for the families - the young man and officer.

If a cop has to receive evaluation because he didn't know what weapon he was using, then doesn't need to be on the force. Cops get 101 excuse why they don't get in trouble, but all it takes is one mistake from the average citizen. You want a get out of trouble free card, become a cop. You know, the only reason this cop was charged with murder, was to keep you porch monkeys from rioting and looting, which seems to be in your genetic makeup. (Any excuse to get a free TV) It's a sad day when our justice system is dictated to by animals such as yourself. But, with the advent of there now being porch monkeys in the White House, I can only equate it with the decline and fall of the Roman Empire, as we are now seeing the beginning of the end of this country. Oscar was not fighting and the whole incident was officer related brutality. Our police now are so far gone that drawing weapons on unarmed civilians happens all the time; even during traffic stops. Lethal force is a "last resort" when an officer's life is in immenant danger. You all make me sick!!!

What I find most disturbing about this video is at 02:40 the police representative and the reporter dialoging. The only options they give are these "If it was a mistake then we'll get it out. If it was justified we'll get it out". What about the option that the officer may have been purposely been working outside the law, thats not an option? No matter what the situation is. That is where the cronyism starts. Protecting their own brotherhood no matter what. Its a club folks and you aint in it.

a public hearing and a measure of lifelong reconsiliation on the part of the officer is an idea, but not one that will be put into action. The officer owes more than his life to Oscar's daughter, having a child himself he should be well aware of this fact. But yes, the officer may only get discharged from the police force. Sad that this happens every day, but we rejoice that the true aspect of the scene was given to the news media to report.

It's easily murder because the criminal cop needs to take the safety off his service weapon before he shot and killed the innocent victim on the ground, hand-cuffed. This is plain murder. (or a non-justifiable act of homicide)

An honest mistake is returning a video to the wrong Blockbuster. Torturing people in hand cuffs then shooting them in the back is murder. That pig is a murderer and should get the death penalty.
