As a fellow musician, I find it very evident in the way Scarlett presents herself on stage and in front of a microphone, that it is not natural to her. She doesn't seem completely comfortable and looks some what awkward, so lets just say she is much better at acting but its cool that she's trying something different. Everyone could use more music in their lives

I think she has a very unique voice and this is a great cover. Her voice fits right into this genre. People have always got something to bitch about, don't they? And Tom Waits is an amazing talented artist, but I have to agree that his voice wasn't that great anyway. And allot of artists don't have a great voice, but they have something special that makes people want to listen to them. And I think it's funny how people assume that SJ is singing for the money.

i can almost guarantee most people on here don't even listen to tom waits, they just wanted to trash scarlett johansson.
you can't really hate on someone covering tom waits cause of their voice. cause tom waits isn't exactly a great singer, but he's a great artist.
if anything, hate her for trying to cover tom waits.

@TheStephenKent See, the only reason why she can aspire to be a singer is because she's already famous, but she obviously has no talent, she doesn't even write her own songs. It's not about her voice, it's just that it seems like hollywood stars need to do everything... when they are not even good at it.

you guys don't notice that harmony they have during the performance? i mean the power what she puts into her voice is exactly in the right place and all the instruments are so well syncronized. well there is sth different and real. and it is really unnecessary to hold your attention in meaningless places.

Painful, do you really enjoy the "bing,bing,bing" musical background? This is as close to blasphemy as you can get. Modern times, fake times, I can't imagine Tom Waits giving the OK for this cover, this is not real, wake me up, get me off Scarlett, I'll go back to the madhouse, she goes to the bank to cash in, despair, oblivion, numbness, happy to be done (read some other four letter word) by you, throw me in a common grave, relax, buy insurance, all is good, is scarlet t a colour?

As a fellow musician, I find it very evident in the way Scarlett presents herself on stage and in front of a microphone, that it is not natural to her. She doesn't seem completely comfortable and looks some what awkward, so lets just say she is much better at acting but its cool that she's trying something different. Everyone could use more music in their lives
