  • Beautiful!

  • @TheTimeGoes

    danke!

  • 3 people are dumb, loser, ignorants and do not deserve to live, how can someone dislike this?

  • Bravo, merry Christmas and happy new year

  • yesssss!

  • Mate, this is absolutely awesome! Bravo!

  • Just curious, are you playing bass in this aswell?

  • @AlecJacinto

yup, it's all solo guitar, "live" -no overdubs.

took me several takes to get it nearly right, like most things.

  • wonderful

  • wunderschön.. Freu mich jetzt richtig auf Plätzchenbacken

    Great playing too of course.

  • thanks. no special way. about a foot away, one close to the sound hole the other up by the neck. nowadays i only record with one mic and clone and pan the tracks

  • Thanks so much

  • o0

    don´t you see them?

  • LOVE it. I love that Charlie Brown jazz.

  • the rythm change is soo funky, great!

never thought that o tannenbaum could sound so fresh.

how would you describe your rythmic style for that arrangement?

  • I learned it straight from listening to Vince Guaraldi's jazz trio version. thanks.

  • Your good troubleclef! I never tried playing the rain song until I saw your video. Surprisingly its not too difficult! Wonderful playing.

  • i no rite!!!!!

  • asombroso

    kisieraa poder tocar como usteed

    u.u

  • I've noticed how good your piano interpretations are on guitar. Have you ever considered doing any Dario Marianelli?

  • thanks. I don't know him.

  • nicely done. where did you get the arrangement from? tabs?

  • What an inspiration to listen to you.

  • Ah, that is just great :) Thanks!

  • Love your playing, man! Any chance on an album soon? I would buy and cherish it. Keep up the fantastic work..

    Jo

  • Thanks, Jo. Hippy New Year. :D cheers.

  • as always a pleasure to listen to your playing - merry christmas

  • Yay - more Xmas songs!

  • I've been listening to the Vince Guaraldi trio Christmas album for....god only knows how long and man I gotta say you definitely did it justice. Not only did you play vince's part, but you also threw in your own touch and I have to tell you its just AMAZING!!! I don't think anyone could've done it better. BELLISSIMO!!!

  • thanks!

  • as usual,

feel, taste, and absolute ear for Music.

    and what about an album?

    cheers, and Merry Christmas, sir

  • you still da man

  • I only wish I had the time to watch all 162 vids...just lovely!

  • oh, I got goose bumps!

I love the jazzy part and how is so full of feeling!

    Thanx for sharing your talent!

  • thanks. and thanks for all the comments.

  • WAM BAM!! Thank you man. You're already on my iPOD. Awesome skill!! You're rendition of Tanenbaum wont be outta place in my fave's playlist along side the likes of Ne-Yo, Akon, Pleasure P, Alicia Keys, 50Cent, etc,etc lol You the man!!

  • Sincerest sentiments of the solstice to you sir.

Nice arrangement. When's your album due out.

  • Oooooooooooh, what a great rendition of such a traditional Christmas Carol. I really enjoy listening to you play. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.

  • yeah!

  • Your play always wonderful.

I like Christmas song you play, especially this song and 'Christmas time is here'.

When I listen to them, it makes me play guitar. I wish I play like you!

    Merry Christmas!

  • Very nice! Merry Christmas to you Troubleclef

  • In italian "gusto" means taste. Playing with "gusto" is something I never heard, but I suppose it means to let your feelings flow with the song .

  • Ahh! thanks. yeah, it's used a bit more loosely in American slang.

  • Ok I won't punch you in the face (right away)... I would translate 'vreugde' to 'Joy' but I suppose I understand what you mean by 'gusto'... something like 'presence'?

If not, who gives a shit ;-)

Thanks for all the trouble translating you went throught... what's in a name huh...

    Cheers,

    Alex

  • Oh how Id love to be able to do what you are doing here...play and makeing your own rhythm while you pick out the melody..what a great feeling that must be,,Every day I practice and I think "Im better than I was last year, but still Im not good enough to say that Im good," So Im going to keep working on Stefan Grossmans Fingerpicking DVD, Dear Prudence abd Blackbird and pick up knowledge everywhere I can and hopefully I can get good like you sir,,Merry X-mas!

  • thanks. Keep on pickin'

  • Beautifull arrangement, merry christmas

    Patrice

  • That was beautiful. Nicely done!

  • thanks!

  • Thank you sir :)

    Please define 'gusto'... Feedback?

The imitation Strat is really a 20 year old $ 99 guitar. The fake-Tele is new.

  • hehe. no... gusto, oomph, attitude(?). I don't trust babelfish at all, but when i plugged gusto into it and translated from english to dutch it came up with "vreugde". Don't punch me in the face if that's not the right word! :D

  • btw (it is Tony is it?)

What kinda mic is that if I may ask? Looks like a Sennheiser... if not, no offense ;-)

Still aint got no 12-string as you wanted last year?

Isn't there any Genesis that we can do together? I'd be honored to put something together with you, either online or in the flesh...

As you definately have noticed in my silly clips I ain't a guitarist, I barely know how to hold one...

    Mad Man Moon maybe?

    I'm open to suggestions :)

    Regards,

    Alex (Holland, Europe)

  • the visible mic is just an sm-57. out of view there's an AT3035 (i think that's the model #).

nah, the desire for a nice 12 string is completely on hold. I've barely enough time to play the steel strings i have already (plus they eat away my nails) and with this economy blah blah blah.

Collaborations are cool. Just don't know how to go about them in virtual space unless it's with a singer (for instance the lovely Miss Lalavox).

    cheers.

  • and I think your guitar playing is fine. With maybe a little more "gusto" the Firth solo would come across a little better, but it ain't bad as is!

  • Your videos seem to pick up the most unusual 'related videos'. I did my part by flaging one. If enough viewers flag it, will it go away?

  • Whoa. yeah that's some crazy shit i don't plan on watching! :< !!!

  • Hey (Tony?),

Mind you I'm not sure if you did Silent Night already so I wasn't referring to that, just in general, I prefer the piece in minor key. You're right, it wouldn't be that silent anymore, that's why I call it "Silent Knight"...

    cheers

  • Ahh!

  • Great job once again bro :)

Have you ever tried 'Silent Night' in minor key?

If you play it quite slowly even this song sounds beautiful :)... You really should try:)

    Merry Christmas :)

    Best regards,

    Alex

  • Doesn't it sound beautiful anyway? :P In a minor key? then it wouldn't be Silent Night, now would it? :PP

I was thinking of working up Vic's version (user: jazzguts) which is cool.

    cheers. Happy Holiday

  • You now rank up there with my all time favorite guitarists ever.

  • aww, shucks. thanks

  • Merry Christmas to you & family

  • Man, you can take any song and make it a masterpiece :)

I felt like a kid watching the Peanuts Christmas.

  • Great. Nice tune. It sounds like some 1930' jazz - is it ? :)

    5 stars.

  • Mr Troubleclef, are you better than Chet Atkins?

  • Maybe at tiddlywinks. I can't think of anything else.

  • The reason I asked is because Chet's the guy I try to emulate. But if you're better than him, then I might as well make you my idol (even if Chet's better looking).

  • wow,this is too cool.Nice arrangement and exellent technique.Bravo

  • So impressive.
