I keep asking: Is there anything nicer, hotter, better than late 70's pop music?
Never before or after pop music sounded more stylish and elegant than in the late 70's. Thelma Houston and her disco hit still makes my best Saturday nights shine on my Sunday Morning face....33 years later!
thelma has to be the most underrated star of all time!!!! listening back at these songs reminds me of how musch she was a part of the disco scene in the 70's and into the 80's. i put her in the same category as martha wash....highly underrated.
@itsstarbaby Notice the martha wash comment, also, cissy houston is her sister, and whitney is cissy's daughter..I think Dionne warwick is their cousin ~(whitney's aunt )
when it first came out and i bought it i did play it again and again...it used to drive my family crazy! i still love this song. thelma vame to perth, where i live, about 15 years ago and she was fantastic live!
... "we are fooled by first impressions, they're not always true... you thought that i was made out of ice, but i caught on fire with you"... LOVE THIS SONG!!! THANK YOU!!
I love Third World republics and territories, but I don't like their music (including India, South Korea, Japan, Turkey).I love British & American music (100 per cent).
The best music of the centuries: 1970s.Birthplace:USA and the United Kingdom. My opinion. Eliminated:Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America and Australia.
I didnt go to the probe until the 80's but it played at the trocadaro in San fran and it was the lead in to the morning music and that is when the place got funky. I usually did not even get to the club until after midnight. and this would play between 2 and 3 am. I truly love this record and I have the 12 inch and the album too
Never got to the Trocadaro, but heard stories about how wonderful it was. !979 was the apex for Disco. Not until the mid 80's with the Paradise Garage in N.Y. and West End music was there anything comparable in quality.
Ignore the nine year old's comments - This is a total blinder of a track... Thanks for posting!!!! I used to have this as a 45 but lost it so have just tracked down a 12" version on the net - can't wait! :-)
My ears just loved every inch of this absolute classic!

not only do I love this song, but it prevented Houston from being the "one hit wonder" that many people still claim she is.

Thelma is one of those talented diva's separated from fame due to the mechanics of the music industry....and it's a shame
