  • I miss the tongue.

  • how much money is the full version please ?

  • Fuckin Love this Shit, LA Noire man cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @24Xero no it's not. This tech fits into a helmet and doesn't require an enormous, bright white room with cameras everywhere

  • Is this the technique they use in L.A. Noire?

  • Isn't this similar to the technique used in Avatar?

  • Gooooooooooooooood!

  • I seriously doubt that this was actually used for Alan Wake. The facial animations in AW are nearly non existant. If they did use this tech, then something went horribly wrong.

  • @andymoogle

this is a high poly face with a very sophisticated rig.

and it was used only for the cutscenes not for ingame.

  • Oh Jules, you gotta love Ezequiel 25:17. Awesome stuff, CaptiveMotion is really impressive.

  • Very cool but the dude talks out of one side of his mouth a lot.

  • acojonante!!!!

  • Asi se vera Alan Wake??????????????

  • is it real time?

  • This looks awesome! And even better: This technology is used in Alan Wake, coming for the Xbox 360! Can't wait!

  • Somehow they made it into the deepest point of uncanny valley.

  • i hate your voice.

  • Watched the video on TED, full body tracking and replication, incredible work, looking forward to seeing it in games

  • You've probably been asked this before, but can you take that capture data and put a Jules Winnfield mask on it so it looks like he's saying the line, but in that guy's voice and mannerisms? That would probably be a pretty impressive demo, and a pretty popular video.

  • Pulp Fiction :D

  • @zorin333 no bible

  • Its pretty good but I'm always slightly disappointed by this kind of thing. The gestalt just isn't convincing which lends the piece a 'game' quality. Nothing wrong with that but its hardly revolutionary - i think the point or the goal is to get to a stage where the lines with reality are completely blurred.

  • Looks great, not sure all of the performance is being transfered to 3d. Still great tech would have fantastic applications in in games etc. What was motion captured on? Vicon? or a different system?

  • It wsa captured on our own proprietary system called Embody, utilizing 1179 markers. Most Vicon system aren't functional above about 200-300 markers. So what you see is 100% motion capture, there are no key frames or blend shapes.

  • I love what you guys are doing but what is up with not having a tongue?

  • The short answer is we aren't animators, we are a motion capture company and tongues (when done, which is seldom) are done manually by an art team. That being said, we are working on some super secret technology that may or may not have something to do with the tongue.

  • samuel l jackson did this more adequate. but nice technology

  • wow. i wonder if we'll ever get past this whole uncanny valley where instead of making people feel weird because of the realistic resemblance to humans they'll just fool people to think that it was video taped.

  • nice. i would also like to know when/where i can expect to see this on the market

  • We are working on that right now so hopefully we have some news on a major title in the next few weeks.

  • Pretty Awesome. Any future games I should look out for using this?
