Secondly, the 'masses' do not love this "sort of music". This song is not pop - it's quite niche. You've confused the song with a ballad about the occult or losing control to some hot beats. The only thing 'pop'ish with Hannah at the moment is that she sounds a tiny bit like Justin Bieber.

Thirdly, Hans Zimmer is a favourite and he used 2 chords for most soundtracks.
