  • Clapton's Playing is on FIRE! His Psychedelic fingering on his Guitar is Legendary! This is one of my fav tracks on "Disreli Gears"!

  • Disraeli Gears is a definition of perfection.

  • Check out the DVD that documents the recording of Disraeli Gears! According to Eric, it was the Byrds that inspired his playing on this song!

  • Always thought this album cover was cool love this song.

  • Just went to an exhibit of rock posters from San Francisco ''66-'67 and they played this song. Amazing song and so evocative of an era.

  • Couldn't beat this with some weed, gin and tonic, and a steak.......and, oh, some sweet female companionship to top it off......take it away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @2.18 Enter Clapton

  • "gonna take.. myself... some acid,.." i love this,. oxo

  • CLAPTON IS GOD

  • this song, world of pain and were going wrong are my favorite Cream songs

  • A most perfect psychedelic experience -- like dancing on a ray of sunlight.

  • @Guy

Never in my life would I imagine a thread dedicated to this song. I was around 17 when it came out and my mates and I considered it filler stuffed in amongst several classics. Maybe it was ahead of it's time? I dunno. I don't feel any differently about it now than I did back then. Strange, indeed. (and yes...we were doing drugs back then) :-) There are many songs, over the years, which captured the essence of the moment. If this one does it for you, that's excellent. You have a soul.

  • This is truly the greatest song, and not just of cream. It's one of the few songs I know that, even when listened to one thousand times over, hooks each tissue of your nerves and mind in such an entrancing way... Everyone else may experience it differently, but despite never abusing drugs at any moment in my seventeen years of life, this song gives me such an incredible high. If anyone else can name a better experience they've had with a song, please do.

  • @GuyOnChair very true, song even better when you are stoned and listening thru headphones!!!!

  • @GuyOnChair KISS playing Doctor Love....unmatched.

  • @GuyOnChair sun cycle - blue cheer. ... or beiber singing baby

  • @GuyOnChair Stay straight, Kiddo!!! The Music is actually a richer experience off drugs...you OWN it, that way:)))

  • @twmoore3ify I disagree completely. Take Risks cause it's just a ride

  • @GuyOnChair '''done every drug known to man....and i FULLY concur with your opinion of this song....sounds as good now as the first

  • @GuyOnChair A seventeen-year-old who doesn't have a Curly Howard haircut, huge old-folks-home shorts, and listens to music which contains other frequencies besides just bass?? ....I say this cautiously, but...maybe there IS hope??

  • @gwugluud Sir, I try to look and dress as plain as possible. Keeps a soulless exterior, and a soulful interior. Often times a rock-related T-shirt, some simple denim jeans, and some workin' boots. I try to get along with the dickless douchebags that infest the Earth in this day and age, to be fair, its all I got. In the respect of Yin and Yang, deep down in the darkness, there is a trickle of light. I've always had an interest in music, but sadly, I also have an interest in software..

  • Stupid me . Who is Jennifer Lopez?

  • @djnlsn A very High priced hooker.

  • I prefer this to the Jennifer Lopez version

  • @MrPeguin666

    hahahahahahahaahahahahahhaahhahahaahahahahahahahaha

  • there is something about Dance the Night Away and Blue Condition that I don't think i'll ever understand but to me it has a huge inspiration.

  • I'll dance myself to shadow, vanish from this place,

dance myself to nothing, so I can't see your face - dance the night away

just how motherfreakin' blue is that, exactly? Can a white man sing the blues? I ask you -

  • @SupernalOne Y'know.. when these guys had a hit.... it was major. When they put out a dud just as anyone else might be prone to do, it was just as minor. You get the point?

  • @djnlsn

not sure - I meant I love this song - maybe I was being too facetious or something, and it didn't come through - anyway, yes Quality speaks for itself, that's a universal - cheers

  • The Sixties version of "Rock Around the Clock." What a difference a decade makes. So dark and mysterious. Yet with the same impulse: to lose oneself in the music and the night.

  • How does it feel knowing you were born 30 years after a time when this country was truly great?

I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

  • @SKAuthenticDank don't be putting other people down for being born when they were born. That's something nobody can control. I feel fine being born when I was born. A real man don't be saying shit like you did.

  • @binka21 Dumbass. I wasn't directing my comment at anyone but myself.

  • @SKAuthenticDank well you should be happy to be alive. just that dam global warming bullshit that the world keeps fueling.

  • @binka21 there's no such thing. The earth goes through cycles. There's been ice ages before.

  • @binka21 I guess thats what you were trying to say actually

  • @SKAuthenticDank No-one delivers the soulful comitment that the triuberant trio of Cream could deliver

  • Comment removed

  • Disraeli Gears and Are You Exprienced (Hendrix) were released in the U.S. at approximately the same time and completely changed the course of modern music. Clapton and Hendrix. Man, does it get any better?

  • Nice flow.

  • pure "Cream".

  • Van Halen,s song by the same name is great but this is spirtual.

  • @pdxbiker2009 Van Halen's song can't hold a cock to this masterpiece. VH has it's own list of hits, but Dance the Night Away is child's play compared to Cream's original work of art.

  • @binka21 i totatlly agree

  • The Druming is like the pounding beats of a heart pacing as the person dances to the beat of the music the singing is like angels from heaven speaking the word of God and the guitar is the message from God himself! incredible!!!

  • anybody else hear van halens dance the night away guitar parts?

  • @bamboosa You, sir, have made an excellent point. I have this on vinyl and nothing can compare with the authenticity. Its the only way to listen to such classics by Cream and the other great bands of the past.

  • Fuck digital reshitting. For all you persons who can afford it - buy a turntable and get vinyl of everything.

  • cool

  • As good as it gets, true psychedelia. Disraeli Gears was just so great; carried me through my last two years in "high" school!

  • hey everybody check out my video of me playing bass to my favorite cream song dance the night away, Its in the video responses, leave comments please

  • Great 12 string sound on this track :)

  • this kinda sounds like "don't let Go of the Coat" by the who

  • Brilliant - but when did you last hear this played on BBC Radio 2? Never!

  • imagine if they would have a 4th member maybe lead singer someone like steve marriot or robert plant

  • thought van halen covered this.

  • @1dgkonig Different song, same title.

  • @1dgkonig I have to think that a song written this well must have made the Beatles a bit nervous?

  • @1dgkonig lmao smart ass

  • @1dgkonig even tho evh was a big cream fan so who knows how he came bout the title

  • One of the most beautifulest song's ever!!! this is pure magic!

  • The whole album is a glimpse of Heaven of just over half an hour. Just hit Play again when the CD stops whirring. Gotta go on the lookout for a vintage wax 'cause the CD sound compressed and distorted, and that's on a Marantz CD14. Can't blame the hardware.

  • @rustinpieces

I saw this album on Amazon.com on compact disc and it said that it's a remaster.

    How would that sound?

  • @BlackFloyd94 Mine actually is remastered. That's where it often goes wrong I'm afraid; pushing the signal into digital distortion/clipping. A good vintage vinyl copy will cost you, however.

  • @rustinpieces

So what's the difference between remastered and non-remastered CDs?

  • @BlackFloyd94 - JUST ANOTHER SCAM TO GET YOU TO BUY THE SAME MUSIC YOU PROBABLY ALREADY HAVE. THE ONLY THING REMASTERED IS YOU WALLET!

  • @rustinpieces I have a vintage vinyl. It's damn impressive.

  • Ginger!

  • ginger baker is a fuckin amazing drummer. Jack bruce has a beautiful voice that goes good with eric's guitar.

  • The Absolute Best Trio Rock players ever...made history, spawned a thousand copycats...started a whole new generation of guitar-players...Cream was the best, don't nobody deny it...you may like Others, but give them their due credit...

  • This is Pure Acid !

  • this song makes me cry

  • @NHockerJazz fag

  • @zososierp you must be joking. go have a profound experience then listen to this song, you might have second opinions. otherwise, happy travels.

  • Many will disagree with me, but this is the best Cream song ever.

  • @binka21:

You know, I totally respect your choice. But, my #1 choice from the studio recordings would be Deserted Ceties of the Heart, with Those Were The Days as a close second. Of the live material, Crossroads, from Wheels of Fire will always be the defining performance for me. I'm a bass player, so my choices are influenced by Jack Bruce.

    --F Brep

  • @binka21 I agree 100%

  • @binka21

top 5 for me for sure

  • @binka21 I AGREE WITH YOU

  • @binka21 Well I agree Totally! The chord progression was simple, but genius! The harmonies were well thought out. On "dance the night away" Bruce does an up scale and Eric goes down making the song pure Cream. Not many were pushing the envelope like this at that time. Jack Bruce Rules!

  • @thwack32 amen

  • @binka21 The Vocals and harmonizing are absolutely beyond description. So clear and precise, and not Screamed and garbled like much of today's music.

  • @binka21 and many have agreed :)

  • @binka21 It is an Awesome Song! One of my favorites too still 44 years later.

  • The guitar melodies in the song are amazing.

  • Oddly, while Dance is far from being the most technically challenging song Cream ever recorded, it is my favorite too. Great chord progressions, superb bass lines, and Baker is at his finest. I always loved Pete Brown's lyrics on this one--he had to have been blown away to make this one up!

  • Why do some people feel compelled to lecture others on drug use? shut up

No one cares what your personal opinions are.. wait until you are asked and your advice will be welcome. It isn't all about you and what you think. Tiresome twit.

  • I hated that they pulled a Led Zepplin an only perferformed one reunionconcert, they should have done more.

  • @blodachia They performed 7, actually. 4 at the Royal Albert Hall and 3 at Madison Square Garden.

  • @evanguy dont forget the rock and roll hall of fame gig they did in the 90's

  • @evanguy You know how it goes...money, egos...all that. No moatter the $, if you can't get along...then hey

  • @evanguy gettin old is a baitch

  • @evanguy the concerts were expensive you can watch the videos though clapton should have used his 335 to sound like the cream with feedback but he was plugging his fender model

  • @blodachia Me too. I wish they would do a tour. They still sound amazing live. If they do a tour Im there.

  • @blodachia Yeah, so get your bloody facts right, mate!

  • fantastic !

  • the 3 people are just another justin bieber in the wall.

  • Clapton is god,

  • Give Ginger Baker some love too!

  • @chihoosierguy an absolute legend who could cut to shreds most drummers more recognised!

  • bruce and clapton were like darren and serj.

  • I love this stuff..Clapton and Bruce musical gods...Like Lennon and McCartney!

  • my favorite Disraeli Gears song

  • This song has stuck with me ever since I first heard it in '68. Once when I had to break it off with a woman I did a painting of a dolphin leaping into a star-filled night sky...and wrote the lyrics to this song on the back of the canvas. If I could pick one sone to soundtrack my life, this would be it.

  • @Keithss1000 did you then break that painting on/over her head? :))

  • @Rawego Sadly, no. It was a nice painting.

  • No good to blame anyone~changes must come~once you accept~look at positive~be greatful for all we have been blessed with~''We turn diamonds into rain~pain into JOY~LOVE YOU ALL~Blessing's,Peace,LOVE,Light~

  • @amysinai Exactly, it was a miracle that they stayed functioning together for 2.5 years, given the anymosity between Bruce/aker in previous groups!

  • as Ginger Baker said The Cream were far superior to the Jimi Hendrix Experience

  • @MrBrooke66

Can't compare apples to oranges. Both groups were incredibly genius; that's that.

  • this album is one for that desert island collection :))

  • only 3 dislikes.

yup can't go wrong with clapton

  • wow Disraeli Gears. words buried in my brain........ :) Mr. Clapton.... never die.....

  • Splendida.

  • Complex, yet light as air.& those compelling lyrics. A beautiful song without flaw.

  • @TumbrelJockey This is a style of music called psychedelic acid rock dance music

  • @spacepatrolman you dance while tripping ?

  • @TumbrelJockey frank zappa said people in this here country cant sit and listen to music they have to have musicals with singing dancing blowing up cars with acid rock you dont have to take anything it simulated LSD trips

  • @spacepatrolman Perhaps you were busy that day ,but Frank Zappa also said in a 1968 Life magazine interview that "if the right sequence of beats could make you dance & tap your feet then possibly a different sequence could make form a fist and strike..." I call ....and raise you.

  • @TumbrelJockey ray thomas the guy from the moody blues that retired said if you speed a note up until it is ocillating then slow it down it can make the audiance shit in their pants

  • @spacepatrolman the hell you talking about

  • My favorite song on Disreali Gears! Eric's 12 string work is so effective here. Great vocals !!! A classic !

  • this is my favorite cream song

  • @PunkysDilema1970 YES!!..they certainly put forth a Great Deal of Musical Skill in this one...not just notes and chords, rather a selection of smooth intros...I had a band way back when, we used to play Clapton, etc., but never This one...

  • Loved playing the drums to this! LOVED!

  • Polskich użytkowników YT, chcących dowiedzieć się więcej o Cream i kolegach zapraszam na portal Cogra.pl - Farciarze z Cream, czyli więcej o płytach Piotrka Poety...

  • ...yea, exactly man.

  • Without this band there would be no Heavy Metal today!

  • @boxingin dont forgett hendrix ;)

  • @kimmedavid Oh, for sure David you best believe that Jimi Hendrix (my favorite Guitarist and Artist of them all) is up there too. I just thought I leave his name out of it so that way I wouldn't steal Cream's thumder.. ;)

  • @boxingin ah ok.. anyway CREAM ROCKS and this song is brilliant.

i want to listen to this song while im stoned.. but i have no weed atm -.-^^

btw if one of you guys like blues ,visit my channel and check the master himself doin a bluesmasterpiece ;) (im not the master ;D)

  • @kimmedavid Cool!

  • @MrBluesrules Nope. Clapton preceded Beck with the Yardbirds.

  • @MrBluesrules Too much credit, too little credit, who cares...! They're still a great band!

  • Comment removed

  • @MrBluesrules I know that there were others but on here on giving credit to Cream. If it was a Jimi Hendrix song I would be on here giving him credit. Anyway, thanks for recommending Zappa. Peace!

  • Comment removed

  • @MrBluesrules Thank you and the same to you. If you get some time check this out: youtube.com/watch?v=V4s88XZ48Sk&feature=related

  • @MrBluesrules beck came after clapton to yardbirds, and he still after clapton

  • @MrBluesrules Eric Clapton was in the Yardbirds before Jeff Beck...

Also, while I love Jeff Beck and he's carried on being an innovator (unlike Clapton), he's simply never reached the dizzying heights of Cream-era Clapton (at least in my opinion.)

  • @VanDoodah I agree with you. Clapton was incredible at this time. I admire Beck for never selling out and carving his own path. Clapton seemed lost for a few decades. If you haven't heard it yet, try out We're going Wrong from the Cream reunion 2005. The best Clapton has played in years.

  • @robertmacisaac

he was lost. but... Jack never lost his muse!

    Cream is more than Clapton...

  • Good luck trying to play Disraeli Gears front to back on guitar...that took me forever, and still didn't quite get everything right.

  • @bruces3 the licks really arent to hard.. You can hear where Clapton records a second guitar part on top of what he was already playing on some songs.. I think itd be more challenging to meld those seperate parts as one player.

  • @atl2maryland good call!!

  • Comment removed

  • this song is soooooooooooo good. its sucha special song with real meaning. i have this album signed by all 3 of them in my room and i listen to this and stare at it all day...

  • "Vanish from this place"..............That´s what i wanna do!

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhh.... can listen to it again and again.... just catch myself playing air-guitar, air-bass and air-drums

  • Mshine67... you nailed it

  • I always loved this song.

My dad always played this when I was playing Sonic Adventure/2, for some reason.

I remember hearing this one Cream song that he called (and still calls, I guess) the "craziest song of all time" where it goes from almost thrash heavy to psychedelic blues.

    Which song is that?

  • That sitar style lead is actually pretty cool. I'm going to have to use that some time.

  • When EC REALLY played!!!

  • @CaptRaven54 exactly the stuff Clapton played after wasnt written as well and wasnt structured as genius as the playing here. I dont think he just up and lost his skill.. just his creative edge.. just goes to show what vision, imagination, drive and energy can do alot for someones sound

  • @atl2maryland So I'm not the only one that feels that way. Yeah, his stuff with Cream and also Blind Faith was his best. After that something got lost, he was still a great guitarist, of course, but something got lost. (IMHO)

  • check out the foot pedals on that hippie drummer...nobody does the foot pedal like ginger- unfortunately no quality recording does it justice here.

  • "Turned myself to shadows so I can see your face". Now I'm dreamin' when.

I was so young then. -- John (65)

  • cool song

  • that is a god song and a good story

  • this is bloody brilliant

  • Let us not forget to thank Pete Brown for the wonderful lyrics!

  • Ginger Baker!

  • The drums panned all he way over to the right side like this is old school studio mixing, back when stereo was new.

  • How good is this? The best Cream song ever, thats my opinion .

  • @merger4 It's hard to pick, but I have to agree. If you don't agree, listen to it again. The melody line, their singing, and Clapton's leads and hook are beyond words. And then I can't say enough about Ginger's drumming. They were, all three of them, at the absolute pinnacle of their combined gifts in this song. Oh, I thought of another two songs I have to put with this; "Those Were The Days" and "Pressed Rat and Warthog." Oops, and...and...and...Nobody was better. NOBODY!

  • @christoJihad2 hi thanx for your comments i also like badge, but my favorite band ever are the Doors , i do like the stones but more of the early stuff, i like Nirvana the sixties band , Tiny Goddess was brill in 1967, i'm so glad i was a teenager during that period , regards merger 4,

  • @merger4 I disagree. The best Cream song ever is: Wake me up before you go go.

  • @merger4: How about this with some weed, quality drink, and an intoxicating woman............and others like it on the turntable?.......Yes, those BC days were real, and three Spring Breaks in Bermuda weren't bad either......ALL paid for my your's truly; Yes, all of it!!.......courtesy of the ships, the cars, and more........and Cum Laude to boot!!

  • @merger4 It's not good it's GREAT. You're right this is the BEST Cream song ever.

  • @merger4 - It definitely should've been featured on one of their compilation albums but wasn't.
