originally the ram speed is 1333mhz.

I like Far Cry 2's graphics just as much as Crysis. I think Far Cry has smoother gameplay. Crysis's water elements look better, and it's forest is DENSER. But I think the actual graphics overall are about the same.

Try a system thats more like 1000+ bucks and another, saaay, 800 dollars for a monitor capable of EXTREME HD 1200p, maybe u can get a monitor for 400 that can only do 1080p but it wont look half as good

I'd say the value sweet spot is at about $2500-$3000. I would not go up to $5000- save your cash for a new system in a three years. Hardware is advancing too fast to expect more than that if you are a serious gamer.

that's a pretty solid build, but it's what I would get, you should buy what you need. If you are going to game on an external monitor, get the 1440x900 display and save $150. If you don't need the storage or don't trust RAID0 go with RAID1 or the 250GB disks. If you use apps that utilizes many cores, go quad-core CPU, etc. Anyway, I think this is a smart build. I love to hear some opinions.

Hahah this sounds pretty stupid, but right now, its a tie between a Macbook Pro with Snow leopard or the M17x and I really want the M17x :).

On occasion, or when I get the laptop set up and I'm comfortable with it, I'd probably get some decent HDMI cables for my friends 52 inch tv.

MBP is a great notebook, and the new M17x looks incredible as well. If you want to do serious gaming, you want the Alienware, the MacBook Pro can handle some gaming, but nothing crazy (the 9600M is OK, but it's not in same league as the better Alienware's options). If you just want great general machine and you like OS X you'll be happy with a MBP.
