Very impressive, but the waltz she did with Jonathan was much better, more fluid, and more stylish. Arunas dancing with Katusha here looks very skilled but a bit laboured, while Jonathan and Katusha's waltz looked classy and effortless, like floating in clouds. No compeition. Look for this dance.

I am amazed at her absolute and confident trust that she displays in just falling gracefully in the swing that they do. I am just awed by her absolute trust. I don't think that I could feel that way. Just awed by it!!

As far as the timing, are you a judge of a competition? If not, get over it. The performance that they give is just breath taking.

Mirko's athleticism and crispness serves him particularly well in the Tango, QS, and VW, but, frankly, the only way he ever scored better in waltz than this man was like someone said earlier: POLITICS. That goes for the foxtrot, as well.

I just watched them again, counting as I watched. I think they're way out of time! Dazzling as their choresgraphy may be, it's no good if they can't do it to time (e.g. even allowing for a fraction of a beat after the '1', they're out). This smacks ot poor musicality.

Well, hello. They're grossly out of the music on this video. You don't even have to count it to notice it from the way the dancing does not match the beats of the music. They are the professional world champions for heaven's sake. Of course the audio is off synch!

@teddykan1 How can 'one of the best ballroom couples in the world not being able to count the beat' be the simplest answer for why it's off time? Surely anyone with an ounce of common sense would assume that the sound is out of sync with the video.

Oh, and a comment for the video; this is one of the most beautiful waltzes I've ever seen, the music is wonderful! Surely Arunas should be winning more than Mirko with performances like this...

You're right, they start phrases off beat, but they get on beat after a few bars -- it creates more dynamic movement, professionals do that even in competition, and when they're doing a showdance and know the music well, they can be much more free than is traditionally acceptable

She sure is, but it's a couple that counts and I think Mirko's partnership is more ....how can I put it...solid and mature and in my opinion Mirko is better in expressing and interpreting the music. Arunas/Katusha is still a very young partnership.

I have a dvd and this video IS out of sync totally... so dont waste your time talking about arunas,, they are a beautiful couple and everyone can just adore their dance especially if we are looking to how old Arunas is,,

Mirko is much better of course..

thats out of sync for sure. you can tell at 1:30 when they're in promenade position - their first step out doesn't hit on beat three. frustrating to watch because the dancing is sooo good :'(

This is a perfect waltz.. just perfect. I'm really curious if they'll be able to beat Mirko&Alessia before their retirement. I think Mirko is much more charismatic than Arunas, but Katusha is just perfect... so this is really interesting! :-)

i can't really say much about the leaders, but i definitely prefer katusha over alessia. katusha is way more graceful in her movement and has better form. i don't like alessia's upperbody line from one arm to the other. overall this couple's movement is so dynamic and smooth!

I'm as curious as You. Mirko may be more charismatic, but Arunas is such an elegant dancer, and with Katusha... perhaps they got what it takes? At least they took a couple of marks from Mirko&Alessia in Bonn.

yeh arunas' waltz does flow very nicely.. but its how mirko uses the music, when he dances he makes it look like he has all the time in the world.. and his use of how he can change his body timing to suit the music he dancers to.. but got to say... this is one hell of a good waltz... mirko and arunas are in a class of their own right now

that waltz was one of the best ive ever seen..

his posture was perfect. his shift of weight in them pivots was fernominal (lol cant spell) he and katusha look much much better together then they did with their old partners.... Got to say from watching this i can see why mirko beats arunas in waltz. Mirko has better musicality (yes i no this is outa syinc a bit but ive seen the dvd)... Still what a great waltz... u wouldnt believe that only last year he was amuater. !!

I don't think it's them. I think whoever put this together got the video out of synch with the audio. Aside from that, turn off the sound. You can "hear" the music in the way he moves. That's true musicality. I don't "hear" the same when I watch Mirko.
