  • "For each channel there is a fader" belongs in beginner village.

  • "and this is a software based hardware" what the hell do you mean, either its software or hardware. make your mind up and dude, try and engage your brain before speaking. jeez.

  • jajajajajajajaj man youre a joke jajajajaj

  • Can you record vocals on LOGIC EXPRESS 9? n how good is it?

  • didubz how are you going to make a ridiculous statement like that? The "recipe" you gave for success is unrealistic. Why do you think there are so many different companies that make gear? Its not as easy as you've stated. I can say that I commented on this video because the guy claims to be an expert but doesn't even know proper audio terminology. That to me says alot. Don't claim to be an expert if your not. Your just starting the newbies off on the wrong foot

  • Its actually the Mix window and Edit window. Also, I can tell you don't know what gain staging is by looking at your screen

  • I think it is funny you guys come in and rip on this dude, he is teaching basic principals of the audio stages,,, if you want your albums to sound great,, buy a manley vu, and a avalon 737sp,,, along with a digi 002 and some nice converters, and yes you can acheive almost any sound you want monitor through some genlecs and some yamaha ns 10's and spend 10 plus years mastering music and your in.... I like his videos, Diz Mastering engineer....

  • LOL if you want to be more credible as a studio producer try remaking this video with decent sound instead of this drop-out crap. sounds like your latency on your sound card is too low.... lol noob..

  • Can anyone offer their point of view towards using Logic Pro instead of Pro Tools ?

    Pro's vs. Con's etc

Any advice would be much appreciated!

  • Logic has better plugins and instruments bundled

Don't waste money on Pro Tools...you'll probably end up with a shitty MBOX or something.

  • yeh i agree if you have a mac and have the option dont beother with pro tools. its really not what people make it out to be. its simple, basic.

go for logic pro, cubase or anything else.

  • really software is one thing, but most people get the impression the software makes your audio sound better,, this is achieved through your converters as well as your mics, your mic preamps, and what you are mic'n, along with the musicians timing and so on.. I think pro tools is a smart choice for anybody looking to enter the music business... Laugh but for loop based music, I love acid pro,, I wouldn't recommend recording in acid,, but check it out..

  • i'm huge pro tools fan, thats all i can say.

  • Ok well Logic Pro I'm pretty sure is MAC based only. But it can do everything and more that Pro Tools can. You can get tons upon tons of free downloads for it. But I've heard that it takes like 50+ gig of room. Pro Tools on the other hand has a great rep. as being an industry standard it can be used on both MAC and WIN. And comes with some free interfaces. Ironically enough it needs those to run. Its not as simple as Logic and requires digidesign hardware to even run.

    Hope this helps.

  • If you are going pro tools either get a digi 003 or m-audio profire 2626. With logic you have the beauty of using any interface you want where with the pro tools you are stuck with digi specific audio interfaces. Logic has better virtual instruments. I went with pro tools only because my friends have it and it was easy for me to learn it from them.

  • i need help please !! Can Vista run Pro tools??

  • yes and no.....

    yes: why wouldn't it??

no: i have a intel extreme processor and 4Gb of RAM and a SSD, BUT it still freezes when it's getting to complicated..

  • vista pro

  • yes it will but vista itself takes up alot of processing and ram

so i'd always recommend you go back to windows xp if its for a studio. its perfect.

  • Ableton Live is the better choice. No matter what software you use you will always hear about it

    ONCE AGAIN YOU'VE HEARD ABOUT!!

  • Ableton Live is not or has it been intended to be a DAW. It lacks many of the little features needed when working in a linear way. Great software but it's not in the same market as protools regardless of how good it is.

  • the other expert village guy say your pro tools sucks

  • You should try Reaper it's the best bang for the buck and has bundled plugings too.

  • Acid sucks. And if you want a bedroom studio like I have, you should get Ableton

  • thanks for talking everyone into wasting there money, because a nice mixer doesn't set you back half as much as all of your bullshit equipment. now show us some music that you've made because I went to your website and you had nothing to show for this "studio"

  • protools sucks! lot of people use it just for its name

  • what bout acid?

  • shineshadows,

What sucks about protools jackass? Protools is just as comparable as Cakewalk, Adobe Audition, etc... In fact it has a leg up as EVERY studio worth their salt is using it, thus there is more developed in terms of plugins for it. However with the advent of vsts, it really levels the playing field for all softwares to perform at the same level.

  • Sonar is better.
