Oh...and DARPA's interest in this thing has to make you kind of wonder if there is something there.......
I am not a believer, just yet. But, if I had a few million dollars to spare, I would do my own research into the matter. As for the skeptics, Huizinga, who I mentioned before, was the one who chaired the DOE ERAB panel back in '89. And as I said, he did not debunk all that much, as far as I am concerned......
phenomena. I am reminded of Einstein who told a group of Canadian journalists in the early thirties that obtaining net energy from a FISSION nuclear reaction would be "akin to shooting birds in the dark in a country with very few birds". In other words, using nuclear fission to turn matter into energy was unlikely. Einstein had said so, because he was thinking of a model which used protons aimed at nuclei to break the nuclei and create a chain reaction. Szilard suggested a neutron..and the

Actually, Huizinga's book did more to convince me that there may be something to the phenomena because he did all he could to throw water on the phenomena, but the best he could come up with was criticism of Fleichman and Pons and that LENR violates KNOWN understanding of nuclear physics...and that many, though not all, of those researchers who spent a month or so failed to reproduce the effect. In my view, his book FAILED to debunk the
I do not have a few hundred k to put into a "cold fusion" (LENR) experiment right now, so all I know about the phenomena is what I have been able to read about and see here on youtube. What I do know is this...the only thing Huizinga (the chief LENR skeptic) was able to debunk in his book, "Cold Fusion, Fiasco of the Twentyfirst Century" was the way Pons and Fleischmann handled their discovery and the idea that "simple" experiments could confirm their discovery. That does not mean LENR itself
This man is relating his own experience and has a distinguished scientific career of 34 years as a radiochemist at Los Alamos National Laboratory and 18 years in cold fusion science. Oh, and for those of you with an attention span of less than 1:10, the field is now called "Condensed Matter Nuclear Science" or CMNS. Google that.
fringe science, there is no cold fusion. it takes pressures and temperatures so high to overcome coulomb forces in order to fuse 2 nuclei. don't fool yourself.
Great little lecture with some fascinating information. However-sorry Dr Storms- the speaking is terrible. Perhaps you could record the narration and read from print. The broken sentences and awkward pauses make it difficult and annoying to follow.
If there were an immense amount of research into this theory of cold fusion and billions being spent by shrewd investors you would think it would be in all the science journals, it would be talked about seriously by famous physicist's all over the world. How come this isn't the case?
Lol you clearly arn't up on your science little buddy. The Institute for Plasma Physics has been working on this for years, and they've already come with the conclusion that it's viable on a large scale.
The literature and the release of these technologies is controlled like everything else in the markey -- by the big boys. Once they have a large and secure market position, it may be released and used on a large scale. Russia is already doing massive research on this.
Thank God for wiki, I suppose your going to say the "big boys" control wikipedia also?
quoted text below:
"In 1989, the majority of a review panel organized by the US Department of Energy (DOE) found that the evidence for the discovery of a new nuclear process was not persuasive. There have been few mainstream reviews of the field since 1990. A second DOE review, convened in 2004 to look at new research, reached conclusions similar to the first, but with a smaller majority"
As someone who read the poor excuse for a debunking put forth by the Chair of the '89 committe you just mentioned, that Wikipedia site you just quoted hardly convinces me. The main arguments put forth by Huizinga, said Chair, in his book "Cold Fusion, Fiasco of the Twentieth Century" were that Fleischman and Pons should not have called a press conference, that they were too concerned about patent rights, that the experiment was not "simple" to reproduce, and that LENR violates
KNOWN nuclear physics. That is it...that was the gist of his arguments and why he said it should not be funded. Now, I am not a "believer", but that does not quite cut it for me. Actually, the book made me even more open minded to the idea, because Huizinga was out to put a nail in the coffin of the claims, and failed to do so so miserably...that perhaps there really is something there. Tell DARPA it is just a "sham" and "entertainment"
I don't need to be. These claims are largely disbelieved in the mainstream scientific community. Don't take my word for it google it or read the wiki article on cold fusion.
Atoms nucleus exploding all a time and radiate exploding energywaves. With this energywaves exploding atoms nucleus pushing themselsfs far a way same way what atoms nucleus exploding all a time.
This energywaves what exploding atoms nucleus radiate have a nature of exploding electrons and exploding particle.
Lets check out some my videos, like hello Brian Cocks and Stephen Hawking!
Thank you for taking the time to put together this online lecture - I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. I am very skeptical (but open minded) of fanciful claims, but the evidence for LENR is now overwhelming. Clearly more research money is needed for this. Blacklight Power seem to have cracked it, and we may well be on the verge of a low-cost, self-sustaining energy source for every home. This research is just too important to ignore. Revolutionary change surely is coming.
Thanks for posting this video lecture. My father and I have been following the cold fusion research since 1989 when Pons and Fleischman made their discovery. This lecture does a great job of explaining the research that has occurred since then. Thanks again.
Pons and Fleischmann didn't make any discoveries. The theory has more or less been around for 50 years (30 at the time) and they were trying to make a functioning reactor. They failed. But the ideas they started are a good basis for more modern LENR research, but ended up taking a wrong turn at the last minute. I've personally spoken to some of the professors that worked with them, as I was a student at the University of Utah.
All the previous comments were left by low bread or ignorant people, sorry, with low or "just curious" interests. This piece is one of those every school must use in education.
Early stage of rare event in technology and humanities. Community and output should prevail in fight with old "pals" barrier.
If you would like more information, I suggest you read the book "The Science of Low Energy Nuclear Reaction" available from World Scientific Publishing.
As for the speaker in this video, he worked at LANL for 34 years and has published over 100 papers involving the materials used in nuclear reactors. In short, he has done conventional science as well as has studied cold fusion for 20 years. Can the other commenters say the same?
I would like to point out that this video was made to give intelligent and educated people facts about cold fusion. It was not made to entertain the small minded.
These types of videos are designed to entertain & scam credulous individuals who don't understand the concepts of critical thinking or skepticism.
I suggest you look up those terms online and educate yourself. Also search youtube for this video: "more about the FREE ENERGY conspiracy theory, rambling" I'm sick and tired of individuals like this crapping all over the shoulders of people that actually do science and contribute to society.
pardon me, I'm a layman, but doesnt this fusion reaction have to do with the use of Helium3? there is an immense research project going on now here and abroad in russia, and billions of dollars are going into this thing. I don't that would happen unless the idea had some merit.... unless they're just small minded billionaires blowing money for no reason. ;)
so if i want to build this home , what do i need ?
come on science guys -show it simple part by part i won't replicate it to sell and make a profit from ; i just want to be energy independent :)
if it works i'll "donate" to any account you want

It doesn't matter I suppose, as "Mr. Fusion"
