  • Awesome!!

I wanna try taking this train one day :)

(the only Viewliner I traveled was the Lakeshore Limited... and this train appears to be similar)

  • What's the diffrence between the Silver Star & the Silver Meteor?.

  • -watches video and then hit's "Subscribe"-

  • That was excellent video footage! You did a great job; thanks for uploading this. AMTRAK RULES!

  • --a great video--I had to watch it three times!

  • --great video--I love the Silver Meteor.

  • dont pan looks better =)

  • Very nice train video.

  • Thank You!

  • @rsideballa75 Excellent Doppler!! World Class In Engineering.

  • That's very good! Looks like its doing about track speed there... when trains go by fast they are sights for the eyes!

  • Thanks! Yes when those Amtrak trains are at track speed with a GREAT K5LA it's awesome to see!

  • Cool video. I was on 98 the day after Christmas. I'll show you my video of it arriving at Palatka, FL.

  • Thanks! I saw your video...nice catch on the Dash 8 #512 I believe? I haven't caught one of those on a train yet but I've seen him at JAX Station every once in a while!

  • Yeah, I remember seeing a Dash 8 sitting in Jacksonville once. I actually used to use Jacksonville station a lot but then I moved to St. Augustine, so now Palatka's closer. Anyway I think they took 512 up to Washington for something, because that's where they take off diesel locomotives and switch to electric.

  • AWESOME shot! Crazy good K5LA, and the non-panning looks great! and wow...75MPH. Nice!

But, I still laugh. Two P42s haul what one AEM7 can haul easily. Love it!

    Jim

  • 1 can and has done it many times. Over the years though Amtrak has gotten fussy over the very few times that one locomotive has broken down during the trip and they put on 2 "just in case". The funny thing is I was on a train once who's front locomotive was damaged (because we hit an idiot in a semi trying to beat the crossing) but instead of cutting off the front locomotive and letting us go on our way, they reversed us back to the station to put on another one. Talk about weirdness.

  • Thanks Jim! I guess I'll start doing that for now on!

  • No problem! And that sounds great!
